“Christina is a fabulous dog sitter! I could tell from all the pictures she sent that Levi was having a great time playing with her personal dogs and other dogs that were staying at her house. She kept me updated at least twice a day on how Levi was doing. This is the first time I've used a dog sitter and will definitely be using Christina the next time we need one. We formerly boarded our dogs at the vet or with a boarder. Not anymore! Levi received a lot of love and attention from Christina. Christina went the extra mile to make sure Levi ate well while he was in her care.”

“Wonderful, first time experience using Rover. Rachael and Joe were excellent hosts and our Jazzie was happy and well taken care of. We were concerned how our 13 pound Shihpoo would react around the Wolfpack. They were gentle and friendly and very socialized. The pictures and the video kept us updated throughout our stay. We will definitely use their services again. Highly recommended!! Very flexible and accommodating as well. Thank you so very much!”

“Nicole was very accommodating. She made us feel very comfortable with our dog staying with her. She was readily available when we contacted her before the weekend stay and during.”

“Robert did an excellent job taking care of our dog that by the time I went to pick him up, he decided that he wants to continue to starly on the couch with his friend. I had to coax off the couch so that we could get going home since it was late when I picked up him. I would recommend him for anyone who needs their furrikids to be taken care in there absence.”

“We had a great experience leaving our Aussidoodle, Willie, with Cynthia and her sweet lab, Luna. I received numerous pictures and was happy to know Willie had a very large, fenced in yard for roaming and exercise. Cynthia treated Willie like her own and gave positive feedback about his stay. I won't hesitate to request Cynthia for future boarding.”

“Larrona and her parents are loving & caring. My Trudie really enjoys being at her place. She is flexible and accommodating. I’ve booked multiple stays and each time exceeds my expectations. She’s a keeper!”

About: I have been providing pet care personally and professionally since I was in high school. When I started, I genuinely just loved being around animals and wanted a way make an income while doing something I enjoyed. Years later and I still hold the same sentiment. My family and I have always welcomed dogs and cats into our homes and cared for them as additional kids in the household. I took a break from pet care to focus on building myself and my goals, but now as a homeowner of three years, I want to extend my home and services again to your fur babies. I work full-time, 100% remotely from home for a law firm located in Pennsylvania. I am always at home, especially during the weekdays, with my five pets. I have a flexible schedule and can arrange my work day accordingly. I am able to work with you and your pet's needs, so just communicate with me! I have a 0.3 acre fenced yard that my two dogs absolutely love to race around in. They get great exercise out there and are able to release their high energy. I am attuned to my animal's needs and provide a lot of supervision and care since I am usually at home. The same way that I would treat my own pets/home is exactly how I would treat and respect yours. I am reliable, punctual, and compassionate.
“Polly had a great time with Raven during a recent trip. Polly is a senior dog with issues and medication including eye drops. Everything went great and I'm sure Polly will enjoy her next stay.”

“I left my 2 dogs with Lindsey & she made my dogs feel very welcomed as if they were at home. She was very easy to get in touch with & responsive at all times. Her house was clean & dog proof. She followed all instructions given to her & also adhered to concerns that I shared regarding my dogs. I will be using her again in the future. 🐕🦺🐾”

“Keri was so wonderful to welcome Mica into her home. Keri is flexible, accommodating and very responsive. The video, picture and updates I received showed Mica comfortable and happy. Thank you, Keri! If we’re back in the area, would love to have Mica stay with you again.”

“Jacob is a wonderful pet sitter. He took care of my two cats and kept me updated with pics and notes about how they were doing. One of my cats’ had trouble adjusting but he encouraged her everyday to come out of her safe place. She finally came out on the last day. So I will definitely use him again. By the way he took my cats in an emergency situation and contacted me right away. Thank you to Rover, but mostly a huge shout out and thank you to Jacob.”

Gabbi was amazing with my rescue dog! He struggles being in new places and she was so understanding and patient with him. Gabbi administered his eye medication just as I asked and he looked great when I picked him up. My dogs stayed with Gabbi over the 4th of July and she was ready to help them through the fireworks. She’s just a great person and I would totally recommend her. She’s definitely my go-to for future boarding needs!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
