“This was Winnie’s second time staying with Linda & her husband. Winnie acted like she was reuniting with life-long friends!! And Linda always ensures that Winnie gets plenty of exercise when she stays - Winnie just loves her walks. I can’t say enough about the fantastic care she receives when staying with Linda.”

“Vivian was amazing with my puppy Rocky! She took care of him like he was her own and kept me updated daily. She has a puppy herself, so she was very prepared and educated on dog watching, the peace of mind was everything to me. Rocky was so sad to leave her and her puppy, we will be using her again when we need a sitter. Thank you Vivian!”

“Christina was great!! I loved the pictures she sent, letting me know my dogs were having fun and making friends. They came home happy and exhausted - which was an added bonus. Communication before and during the booking was great. She set up a meet and greet before the booking to meet her, her boyfriend, and their dogs. Overall, it was a great experience and I will definitely book again!”

About: I have had cats & dogs since I was a child. Now I have a cat who loves dogs and neighbors bring their dogs over to see how they react to a cat. I am a retired vet with nothing but time to worship animals. I visit the dog park even though I dont have a dog & carry treat in case I meet a dog I have a yard with a fence, two bedrooms & a comfy couch all are welcome on. I live near a dog park & several parks for roaming.
“I was very scared to leave my fur baby with someone for the very 1st time but Ms Chelsea did an awesome job with my Lexi. I will be using her again in the future. Thanks for all the luv n care given to Lexi”

About: Hi, thank you so much for stopping by to read through my profile. I have loved and taken care of friend’s and family’s dogs for years. Big, small, medium, even tempered, wild, mellow- I absolutely love them all. I have a 12 year old lab, who has slowed down a lot. She is my everything. I find something about raising a dog from a young pup to an aging one, so very special and rewarding. If your dog is fast paced or likes to smell every blade of grass, I’m game. Rain, shine, or snow, I’m available. I’d absolutely appreciate it if you gave me the opportunity to spoil your dog, not just walk or watch. I understand these are your babies. My house is set up well with a fenced in back yard and lots of attention and love offered. Let me know what questions or concerns you might have! I work Monday-Friday, I am usually free in the evenings and off on Thursdays typically. I’m free on most holidays(so keep that in mind).** I am free on most weekends. ** My job is flexible, 12 mins away, making it easy to drop by my house throughout the day. My house is open and I have a great fenced in area. Your dog will be spoiled rotten over here. Lots of pets and attention. I also know how important a walk is to a dog, it’s the highlight of their day! We’d make the most of it.
“This was my second time booking with Rachael and Joe and they are truly wonderful. My husky, who has major trust issues, simply lovessss staying with them. He got so excited when we pulled up to their house and he darted to their door to go inside, he didn'tcare that I even existed when we got there because he just wanted to go play. They do a wonderful job of sending updates and pictures. I will continue to use them every time I need a sitter. 100% recommend.”

“Polly had a great time with Raven during a recent trip. Polly is a senior dog with issues and medication including eye drops. Everything went great and I'm sure Polly will enjoy her next stay.”

About: I have had pets in my life for as long as I've been breathing. I learned to take my first steps holding our rat terrier, Missy's, tail. There are no bad breeds. I love all animals, even the ones that don't love me lol. I promise to treat your little friend like they are my child. I also spent the last two years in the pet care industry. Boarding, grooming, training, and daycare. I am trained well enough in grooming to give haircuts if needed, we can discuss pricing 💜 I also have experience with farm animals. Goats, horses, chickens, pigs. I'm comfortable with most pets, so sorry if you have snakes though. I adjust my prices based on your needs so don't be afraid to talk to me about rates! Working part time 8:30-4:30 on weekdays. I do prefer check-in style visits and really looking to groom more, but still available for housesitting when needed. I do offer care in my own home for smaller/medium pets (must get along with cats) and am adept at following whatever instructions I am given. With my work history I am very used to elderly and disabled pets as well. I am more than happy to walk two small-medium dogs at once, but if your dogs are considered large or giant I would ask to walk them separately, for everyone's safety.

“I was very thankful to have someone open their home for pet sitting during the holidays. Francie seems to really enjoy what she does and my Maggie seemed like she didn’t mind playing with a bunch of new friends!”

“Robert did an excellent job taking care of our dog that by the time I went to pick him up, he decided that he wants to continue to starly on the couch with his friend. I had to coax off the couch so that we could get going home since it was late when I picked up him. I would recommend him for anyone who needs their furrikids to be taken care in there absence.”

“Keri was so wonderful to welcome Mica into her home. Keri is flexible, accommodating and very responsive. The video, picture and updates I received showed Mica comfortable and happy. Thank you, Keri! If we’re back in the area, would love to have Mica stay with you again.”

“Laura took excellent care of our pup! I could tell that she was cared for as part of their family. Laura provided daily photo updates so we knew she was cared for. I would highly recommend and will use her again!”

“Fergie had a blast Smokey!! Laronna has the perfect set up for watching Fur babies with a fenced in yard and doggie door. She loved on Fergie with plenty of pictures of Said spoiling. Thanks Laronna!”

“Jennifer is awesome, my dogs enjoyed their stay a lot! I liked getting the nightly updates with pictures and videos. I love that the pups had a huge yard to run in. Jennifer is great at communication and took great care of my pups! I will definitely be booking with her, the next time I am out of down.”

“Tre’Ana was an excellent host and worked with me on times and dates. Would recommend her to anyone!! My Hazel was definitely taken care of and so happy when I picked her up.”

About: I have had a dog for 8 years and am considering adopting a sibling. This will be a great way to not only find some wonderful new doggy friends and families but to also acclimate my dog to having another dog in the house. I have a large fenced in yard and am home on weekends so my dog and I would welcome some company! I work full time during the week and am in the office 3 days so I work from home on Fridays and have weekends free! I have a fenced in yard and friendly dog who would love some company. I do also have a crate so can crate your pup as well or they can sleep in a bed, on the couch, wherever they are comfortable!

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - East Alton
This was the first time we left our fur baby while we went on vacation. TWO WEEKS! We were so worried about how this would go (with us and with Zoey). Gabbi was a blessing! Zoey fit right in and did extremely well. Gabbi kept us posted and sent pics which eliminated ALL of our worries and concerns. Because of Gabbi, we were able to relax and have a great vacation. She knew exactly what to do to make Zoey comfortable and stress free, she had a great time too! We will definitely be using Gabbi again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
