“Megan took care of our special needs Dane for several days and did a fantastic job! With severe separation anxiety, he can be a handful at times, but he seemed to great with her. We would definitely use her again in the future!”
“Shando was exactly what we were looking for! He was kind, compassionate and experienced with pets. Our golden loved him! Our first Rover adventure for a night away and we couldn’t have been happier with how everything worked out. Shando was flexible. He showed up early to not be rushed and stayed late working around our schedule. I can’t wait to plan another trip or date night so I can get on Shando schedule! Thank you so much for loving our needy puppers.”

About: 4+ Years of Animal experience . I remember getting my first dog around 15/16 and fell in love , he was a siberian husky ! I would pet sit all the time as a personal assistant and would watch their adorable Pomeranians! I now own an American short hair cat but I have always loved all kinds of animals and truly enjoy their company ! Pets really warm up to me and I don’t fear any kind of pet ! Even the hyper ones haha. God’s creation is beautiful! My schedule is flexible so I can try to accommodate many people . Sundays I have church at 4 so i am available in the morning time! My cat is my family , I like my pets to feel peaceful and I also let him outside on the patio to get air but he is not an outdoor cat at all. He has cushy spots around the house and I have taught him to sit ! When i was taking care of the pomeranians I would feed them their farmers dog food at the same time everyday and they were very active dogs that required a lot of love and attention ! Which i loved to give!
“This was Poly's second time with Sammy and he loved her, he even slept with her. She was fantastic, gave me updates on how he was doing. I already have her coming again the end of the month. I highly recommend her, she is awesome !”

“He was absolutely wonderful with all of my fur babies! Sent pictures and updates about them! Will absolutely be looking into having him watch my animals any time I come to Vegas with them!”

“Jorie did a great job watching my 3 pets over the holiday weekend! She has walked our dogs before, and this was the first overnight. She was communicative leading up to the stay and throughout. I think we got about 10 pictures within the first 24 hours! One of my dogs is very anxious, and Jorie was so good about being patient with her. My other dog has epilepsy and takes medication. She was able to administer that with no issues. Our cat is older and tends to sleep in her little house all day, but she was all over Jorie and loved hanging out with her! I would absolutely hire again and highly recommend!”
About: I have experience caring for both dogs and cats. Growing up, I helped care for my family’s two dogs by feeding them, taking them on walks, and ensuring they received daily attention and exercise. In addition, I have regularly cared for friends’ pets while they were out of town, providing reliable care for both dogs and cats, including feeding, walking, playtime, and making sure they were comfortable and well cared for. I am currently attending EMT school, so I have a very flexible schedule and am not working at the moment. This allows me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to caring for your little ones. I am available on both weekdays and weekends and would be happy to work around your family’s schedule. 😊 I care for pets by following their normal routine, including feeding, providing fresh water, walks, playtime, and lots of attention. I also keep their environment clean, ensure they feel safe and comfortable, and always respect my client’s home.

About: Hi there! 👋🏼 Thanks for stopping by and taking a look at my profile 😊 Ever since I was a spunky 9-year-old, I’ve been responsible for taking care of all sorts of fun animals, and I’ve been obsessed with it ever since! I was super blessed to be able to grow up & live with all kinds of animals. From kittens and dogs to bunnies, horses, reptiles, chickens and ducks, exotic animals, and more, I’ve got you covered! (I’m not a certified trainer, but I have training abilities.) Need potty breaks and long walks, done! Need medications given, done! Need super-specific instructions, done! Nothing is ever too weird to instruct or request when it comes to their ultimate care. Cuddles are always a given, and I’ll always love them like my own. They’re family!! 💞 Currently working from home so it’s easy to get up and go when needed. I’m flexible since I can work from anywhere; means I can delegate lots of time to spend with the babies for attention, play time & cuddles! 2 very well-mannered kitties live here in a spacious two-story house with spacious room to roam and run freely around in. They also have a secure, fenced-in backyard. There’s no doggie door, but they can be let out every 30 minutes if necessary or whenever they alert.
“Sierra was house sitting our Belgian malinois Ayva. She said right the way that she doesn't have an experience with this type of breed yet. We explained all the details and directions to take while she was here with our dog. It was easy stay with no issues. She sent pictures to us daily to make sure that we know our dog is fine. House was clean as well, which was very important.”

“I was gone for 5 days and Charla did an excellent job housesitting and caring for my senior pitbull baby and 2 sweetheart cats. There was a special feeding schedule and other instructions that Charla came over specifically to see and do before the date. I am absolutely going to book her again. She is nice and happy 😊 .”

“Ellisa was an AWESOME sitter, she came to the house to meet all the animals, asked questions and kept me updated over the 3 days. Even though she didn’t have to, she still kept an eye on the cats and their food, and didn’t mind having all the animals in her room while she was working at the desk…and peaches right in her way too! All the animals were obviously very taken with Ellisa, especially my big boy and we came back to a clean house and happy animals!❤️❤️”

“We have had several pet sitters and Valeria is by far the best one. Her attention to detail and instructions on care of Karma was perfect. We would highly recommend Valeria to anyone looking for a excellent caring pet sitter.”

“Tiffany stayed at my place with my fur baby Moo for a week! Let’s start off with her response efforts that I was highly satisfied with. It was my first time leaving Moo with anyone as well at my home. She did an amazing job, fantastic with updating me on any situation and I was always sent photos of Moo. Tiffany went above and beyond and exceeded expectations in my eye, she not only gave love and cuddles to my fur baby but she also took it upon herself to make sure he was fresh and clean coming back home to. My home was also left in great condition. Tiffany is very trustworthy and her confidence shows that she knows exactly what she’s doing with pets. I definitely found a fur baby sitter for any new events that may come up. She did an awesome job and I highly recommend her to anyone. Thank you so much again Tiffany. I appreciate your work & kind soul 🙏💗✨”

“Mindy is the absolute best! We were in the area and needed someone to watch our two pups at an AirBnB. One of our dogs is reactive, and we were so amazed at how quickly he took to Mindy. Within the first few minutes of meeting her, it was clear that Mindy has a strong professional background as a dog trainer and knew exactly what to do to make our dogs trust her. She was so accommodating, maintained regular contact via text, sent some amazing photos that should become the dogs' new profile pics, and was fun to talk to! We had complete peace of mind leaving our dogs in Mindy's extremely capable hands.”

“WOW! WOW! WOW! After our long standing sitter of 5 years had a family emergency we were left in a bind to quickly find someone to watch our pups while we went out of town. Thankfully Jenny had an opening and after several interviews with other sitters she was the sitter our dogs and we chose and we are so thankful. Our dogs and cat were spoiled, looked after and fell in love with Jenny. We have one pup who is very particular about who she gives her love to and she was comfortable with Jenny from the moment she came into the house. Jenny went above and and beyond for both our babies and for us. She is comfortable giving our dog her required medication and we felt secure that in an emergency for either house of dogs she would handle things as safely and securely for all. Communication with her is excellent, we received pictures and updates daily, often multiple times. She took great overall care of the house. Provided she is available when we need Jenny will be our first phone call when needing a sitter. Thank you Jenny!”

“Kelly was fantastic! She stayed at our house for 3 nights and watched our 17 year old siamese kitty Molly while we were out of town for the holidays. Kelly was quick to respond to every message and sent us lots of great photos and videos. Molly was very relaxed when we came home which is a clear sign of a good cat sitter. Highly recommend Kelly for your pets!”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Dry Lake walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Dry Lake maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Dry Lake choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
