About: I have had animals ever since I was born! I fell in love with taking care of animals when my family's dog started growing old. Instead of seeing the extra care you must give a senior dog as a chore, I saw it as a teaching moment, as an opportunity to pour even more love into my dog. And, now, I really enjoy dog sitting! I love walking dogs and can take them on hikes, long walks, or a short trip to the mailbox! If you couldn't tell from my pictures I love animals of all kinds! I have a special place in my heart for guinea pigs because my brother has two! I am an incoming college freshman, so in Maryland my availability will be during the summer months and during breaks. Otherwise, I have no other scheduling conflicts! I make sure that I approach each dog differently. If a dog is low energy, I will be able to match their energy and make sure that they are comfortable. And on the other hand, if a dog is high-energy I can match that too. Play time and long walks are always welcomed!
“Jessica was very professional and communication was easy. I felt very comfortable to leave my four cats in her care. Will definitely use Jessica again in the near future!”

“She was great, reliable and was very flexible and went beyond what I asked her to do as we got a new pet parrot thrown in with our two cats. I would definitely book her again!”

“Priscilla was great with my dog and very reliable. My dog is very nervous about meeting new people and allowing strangers into the house but he warmed up to her because of her sweet, gentle way. I would definitely use her again.”
“Grateful to Tabitha for taking care of Luna and Oliver while we were out of town! Luna was happy for the company and both cats were well taken care of during the visit.”

“Liz is fantastic! Extenuating circumstances arose while I was away that complicated her care schedule (twice), but she was willing to help me work on the issues and did so in a timely manner. I really appreciate that because I don’t have anyone else in town to call on when I’m out of town, so being able to trust that she’d make time to sort it was a HUGE relief. I would work with her again!”

“Jim and laurie always go above and beyond every day!! My active rambunctious dogs love them, and they're considerate of my house and children. They are both punctual, reliable, and just plain good people!”

“Melinda was the absolute best! She was prompt, communicative, and loved on our best buddy as if he was her own. She went above and beyond to make sure he felt cared for, and what more can you ask for when it comes to your fur baby! She sent the best pics and even a video of our big boy *attempting* to do a spin move! 🤣🥲 safe to say Oakley already can’t wait for her to come back!”

“I needed somebody to help me brush my cranky old husky who hates being brushed, and Jenny was great! While I fed Dakota a never-ending stream of treats to distract her, Jenny brushed out a dog-sized pile of fur, undoubtedly saving me hours of vacuuming and picking stray fur out of my food. (husky people know what I mean!) The neighborhood sparrows are now hopping around collecting the escaped fur tumbleweeds to line their nests so I'd say it was a successful drop in visit all around.”
“Emily has provided pet sitting services for my cat Honey a number of times. Honey is a shy kitty and will go into hiding when anyone other than me enters the home. Emily brought treats with her to gain her trust. I feel comfortable leaving now that I know Honey will not only have her physical needs taken care of but also some affection from a sitter she trusts.”

“Although I ended up having to cancel my trip so Ashley/Olivia didn’t end up doing the drop in visits, Olivia was great at the drop-in visit I scheduled before our trip! My chinchillas took to her immediately. Gus, our fiestiest boy, happily accepted cheek scritches from her and another one of my chins even let her pick him up :) That says a lot about how she interacts with animals because as prey animals, trust doesn’t come easily to chinchillas. She also asked a lot of important questions about their care which I appreciated. She was super responsive and flexible about when I came to pick up my key from her. I would feel at ease with her taking care of my pets the next time I need care for them!”
“Kaitlin did a phenomenal job with our furry ones. Great communication, did everything the way asked and even did little things to make sure we knew everything was being taken care of. From the check in photos to seeing how our doggos were treating her we knew she was taking wonderful care of them. 100% recommended and will definitely come back to her the next time we might need anything.”
About: Hi, I'm Ryan. I live in a house in Elkridge, MD with a large fenced backyard. I run a dog rescue and have over 15 years of experience caring for dogs. I've had dogs from 3lbs to 150lbs. I currently have a 8ish year old mix that is very used to other dogs coming and going. He is a great playmate or nap buddy for other dogs. I have experience with giving medication to dogs and cats ranging from pills, eye cream, ear drops, liquid in the mouth, insulin shots and other injections. I am comfortable and experienced with dogs of all sizes and temperaments. I often work from home and am able to be with the dogs most of the day. Most days I am available to go on walks with your pup! I love all dogs and can't wait to meet yours! I require all dogs coming into my yard/home be on flea/tick preventative, up to date on rabies, distemper, bordetella and canine influenza. I work from home so your pet will rarely be alone. I am able to provide extra potty breaks or give extra attention if needed. I have a large grassy backyard with a 4 foot fence and one dog that is always down for a play buddy but will also happily nap on the couch. I have extra crates if ever needed.
About: Hi! I’ve been an animal lover my entire life and have cared for all kinds of pets over the years. Growing up, my family always had dogs, so I learned early on how to handle everything from playful puppies to senior dogs who needed a little extra attention. As an adult, I’ve personally owned small caged pets and currently own 2 cats, giving me a well-rounded understanding of different animal personalities and care needs. I currently share my home with two adopted cats, each with their own unique story and background. With patience and care, I was able to successfully introduce them to each other despite their age difference and differing temperaments—it was so rewarding and relieving to see them become friends! I understand that every pet is unique and deserves compassionate, individualized care, and I treat every animal I meet like one of my own. I currently work a full time job with the military during the week, but am home early in the afternoon to provide care, comfort, and cuddles to my furry friends and yours! I have a spacious apartment with lots of toys and 2 friendly cats to keep tour furry friend company. Walking around my neighborhood is a breeze with pet pickup spots along the way and a safe environment for walks no matter what time.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Dorsey
Kelly was an absolutely wonderful cat sitter for Luna and Oliver. She was very proactive in her communication and provided detailed updates on how the two were doing, which gave us peace of mind during our travels given Luna’s regular health issues. The cats were clearly very comfortable with Kelly and we greatly appreciated the care and attention she gave to them to ensure they were happy and well-taken care of. She even went the extra mile to help us out during an unexpected incident, which was a huge lifesaver for us. We highly recommend Kelly if you are looking for a sitter who truly cares about your pets and wants to give them the best experience when you’re away!

Madison got along very well with our two cats when we were out for the weekend! They followed all of our instructions to the letter and did extra work to make sure our cats were happy and our home was just the way we left it. She was attentive to the specific emotional needs of each cat. I would highly recommend them for pet sitting.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
