“Kat was amazing!! It was our first time leaving our dog, so we were nervous about how it would go. Those fears very quickly flew away, because Kat went above and beyond in so many ways!! We highly recommend her to care for your fur babies. We will definitely use her again!”

“Lucy did a wonderful job with our pack of kitties and provided frequent updates. She was wonderful and patient with them all, and did a great job managing the medicine schedule for one. We look forward to having her back!”

“Deborah made leaving our Luna girl for 2 days extremely “easy”. Kept us up to date with photos, how she was eating, sleeping etc. Didn’t have to question the care that was being provided whatsoever. She also kept our house tidy how we left it. Would book her 1,000 times more! Thank u!”

“Wendy is AMAZING!!! She does such a great job with our pups. They are loved and cared for. We can truly enjoy our time away knowing they are in such good hands. She communicates everyday. Our home is well taken care of. Our pups love her.”

“Wren took such incredibly care of our special needs dog Chon. Chon has limited use of his front legs and requires a wheelchair and has some reactivity to strangers. Chon experienced really strange symptoms while we were gone and Wren kept us updated and was extremely ingenuitive in finding ways to accommodate my special needs dog.”

“Ashli is so amazing and stayed with our dog for the entire day so they we could enjoy our wedding. It was such a relief to know he was happy and hanging out with Ashli, and we were able to focus on the day instead of wondering what he was doing at home.”

“Paul was great watching our house and two cats for a week! He sent pictures and updates every night, asked questions about anything we'd forgotten to put in our notes, and bonded well with both cats. Even from the meet-and-greet, it was clear he was going to be a good fit, because our cat that is scared of strangers didn't feel the need to go hide from him; and it was clear from the updates that she got very comfortable with him while he was staying. When we got home, the cats were happy and healthy, and the house was spotless. Thank you, Paul!”

About: I have taught my dog multiple tricks and continue working on separation anxiety and reactivity. Since getting my dog I have learned a great deal about dog food, behavior, and training. I've always had love for animals, and have had a dog in the house since I was 4 years old ranging from small dogs too big dogs. Growing up I would binge animal planet and had hopes of being a veterinarian. Now as an adult, I have had Midas for 3 years. I treat every new dog I meet with respect, and of course love. I've learned to be able to adapt my energy and interactions with different dogs depending on their personality. I would love the opportunity to be of service to you and your lovely fur-baby! I will be un-employed from my seasonal lawn and landscaping job starting December 12th. I will be returning to that job sometime April 1st. I also plan on starting an odd jobs side hustle during the winter months. So if i become too busy from odd jobs I will adjust my availability accordingly and stay available for constant communication to ensure no scheduling conflicts. Christmas and new years (December 22nd- January 2) will be limited availability. February 14-21 i will be on a trip to Arizona. I take my dog for a jog every morning, at least one walk, to our little dog park at the apartment two times per day, and the big dog park a couple of times per week. We go on adventures together and explore different walking paths and nature trails. We feed him once a day and ensure he does a series of tricks and waits for the "ok" command before he can eat. We feed him a three way mix of fresh pet, Dr. Harveys, Meats, and Kibble. I intend to provide a healthy and fulfilled life full of play and love for my dog, and I will treat your dog the same.
“Daniel was excellent. Took care of my kitties while I was out of the country for 2 weeks and constantly kept me in the loop and sent me pictures of them daily. Would highly recommend him.”

About: I grew up with pets. I love all animals of the sort and I will update and send photos and videos of your pets. I treat all animals as if they were my own. I'm currently working part-time, and have plenty of time to look after pets. As I own 2 cats of my own, and have had dogs in the past, I understand what they need and would love to look after yours! Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or yours, I keep things structured, safe, and consistent so your pet feels comfortable and secure. I follow the routine your pet already knows, including feeding times, walk schedules, playtime, and any rules or training cues you use so nothing feels stressful or unfamiliar.
“Beth was very communicative and worked with our older dogs to accommodate both of their needs (our little one doesn’t love walks but the big one loves and needs them.) During the meet and greet, she noted even little things, like where the dog beds are/where they like to sleep. I definitely plan to ask Beth back.”

About: I have cared for and loved dogs all my life! I started pet sitting at the age of 12 and since have continued to provide off and on care for furry loved ones over the past 20 years. I am very comfortable with larger breeds after caring for my own sweetie pup Great Pyrenees over the past 7 years. My job is 100% remote so I have quite a bit of flexibility when it comes to shifting around my schedule or taking my work with me wherever I go! I think a dog’s routines are very important! When in a client’s home, I will always stick to rules and schedules that work best for the home and (most importantly) your pup!
About: I have had two cats for 10 years and plenty of experiences with other animals. Not only have I fed, walked and played with cats, dogs, turtles, fish, guinea pigs and hedgehogs, I have also had to administer a variety of medication to both ailing cats and dogs. I have experienced a variety of personalities from all of the pets, but no matter what, I love dedicating my time to make pets feeling comfortable whether that means taking longer or shorter walks, playing with them, keeping them on a diet, petting them, or just simply being quiet. I am currently working a flexible, part-time job, so I will have plenty of time to take care of pets! I am more than happy to make my schedule work around your pet needs. I am happy to provide as much attention to your pet(s) depending on what you believe will make your pet(s) the most comfortable. I have reliable transportation, and I am a Bloomington native, so I know my way around town. I can play with, walk, feed and take care of your pets in the manner that you best see fit. If you are away and would like me to stay in the house, I am more than welcome to. I am a quick-learner and my past experience has provided me with a good knowledge base for which to judge what pets might need at a given moment.

“Jaime was absolutely wonderful. My plans ended up changing last minute and she was open and flexible to accommodating. She gave such beautiful pictures and updates and my kitty was so joyful and fun when I got home; she clearly had a great time!”

Deb was great with my dog and 12 year old grand dog. She sent photos daily and always answered any questions I had. The house was clean and neat when we came home. Our flight was delayed and she came back to the house and fed and let the dogs out! Very kind and appreciated. I will book either her again. Highly recommended.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Dolan walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Dolan maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Dolan choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Dolan. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
