Sara is always great with our Jelly, and we always feel comfortable having her stay at our place while we are gone. Jelly isn’t always the easiest dog - she’s got a lot of anxiety and doesn’t like other dogs - so we won’t leave her with just anyone! We are always very happy when Sara can help us out...and I think Jelly is as well! :)

Brenley took excellent care of my elderly dog and cat while I was on vacation. My trip was enjoyable knowing they were in good hands. Brenley was very communicative and sent pictures and videos everyday. She even offered to care for them longer when my return flight got delayed. The animals were very relaxed when I returned. I would be delighted for her to care for them again!

Abigail is the best! My dog, Dottie, is a very anxious girl and she warmed up to Abigail after only a couple minutes during our meet and greet. She sent pictures the entire time I was away and took such amazing care of Dottie. I would recommend her for any dogs and will definitely have her comeback to take care of my girl the next time I need an overnight sitter.

About: I have done in-house dog sitting for others, as well as had my own pet dogs growing up. I have experience with a range of breeds and sizes. I am Cat and Dog First Aid certified. I work flexible part-time jobs, so my week-to-week schedule is varied. I am open to overnight sitting or just for a few hours at a time. Reach out to me even if I am listed as unavailable as I may only be available at a certain time. For example, I volunteer at a wildlife rescue on Wednesday mornings with availability afterwards, but Rover does not allow partial day availability. I make sure to understand a pets' needs and to meet those standards, while making sure their environment is safe. Conveying those needs is important to me before actually beginning pet care. I understand pet body language and give them the space and respect they deserve.

Deborah made leaving our Luna girl for 2 days extremely “easy”. Kept us up to date with photos, how she was eating, sleeping etc. Didn’t have to question the care that was being provided whatsoever. She also kept our house tidy how we left it. Would book her 1,000 times more! Thank u!

About: I have been around dogs and multiple cats ever since I was 5, but have been pet sitting for a year as additional income. I have dog sat a range of breeds from german shepherds to Maltese's. My routine when I go on walks is as needed for the dog, but on average 3 walks a day (morning, afternoon, night) if you live in a neighborhood/condo, may vary depending on location. Please feel free to ask questions! I am currently a senior at Indiana University, and I have classes on Tuesday and Thursdays. So, I will have plenty of time for your pets! I love to go on evening walks with my roommates, play lacrosse, read, and attend IU football games! Ideally I would go to/stay your home so that your pet(s) are as comfortable as possible! I will cater my routine to your pets personality, if they are an early riser, so am I. If they like to lounge and watch 101 Dalmatians, so do I. I am here to make you and your pets lives easier!

Katie went absolutely above and beyond for us when we were gone for a few days. From the beginning meet and greet, I felt extremely comfortable having her stay with us from the way she interacted with our pack of 3 large dogs, and just how she interacted with us too. Our dogs can be a lot and she handled them amazingly. During our trip, Katie sent us the perfect amount of updates and pictures (which she is cognizant to ask during the meet and greet!), and the pictures were all incredible. Our dogs looked so happy and playful and adorable! I could tell they were having a blast with her ❤️. Katie was also super responsive to my texts which I very much appreciated - it let me know she was here and very active with our pups! Katie left the house far cleaner than when we left too, making the day after a long trip so easy. Katie is truly a star sitter that has a wonderful heart for people and animals, takes her role very seriously, and I would use her again without hesitation.

About: What sets me apart is my reliability, patience, and genuine love for animals. I’m an active person who enjoys walks, outdoor time, and keeping pets engaged through play and attention. I understand that every pet has their own personality and needs, whether they’re an energetic puppy, a senior pet who needs extra patience, or a pet who just needs a little companionship while their owner is away. Pet care fits easily into my weekly routine. I have a flexible schedule and can provide walks, drop-in visits, feeding, playtime, and plenty of attention throughout the day. I enjoy being active, so long walks and outdoor play are something I genuinely look forward to. I’ll always do my best to accommodate your pet’s routine and keep them comfortable while you’re away. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I take the time to learn each pet’s routine, personality, and any special instructions before every visit. I always make sure doors, gates, and leashes are secure, provide fresh water, follow feeding schedules carefully, and give pets plenty of attention and exercise. I’ll also keep you updated with messages and photos so you can feel confident that your pet is Safe and well taken care of

Mirte was absolutely outstanding! From the moment we connected, she was communicative, thoughtful, and incredibly caring with our home and pets. She went above and beyond in every way, sending regular updates and photos that gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. Our pets clearly adored her, and it was obvious she treated them like her own. We came home to a spotless house, happy animals, and everything handled perfectly. Mirte is reliable, kind, professional, and truly one of the best sitters we’ve ever worked with. We would book her again in a heartbeat and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and compassionate to care for their pets and home. Five stars all around!

Amanda was amazing! I went on a week long trip and while I was away, she house sat and took care of my two dogs. She was the best Rover sitter ever! She sent morning and evening updates with lots of pictures. I get really sad when I leave my girls but her updates made me feel so much better and in every pic my girls looked so happy! 😊 I highly recommend booking with Amanda

FAQs for House Sitting - New Unionville

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in New Unionville on Rover is $66.6 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 331 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across New Unionville. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred New Unionville walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in New Unionville maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in New Unionville choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in New Unionville. On Rover:

  • 86% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 100% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
