“Lina was great!!!!! Our first time with her and she made me feel really comfortable leaving my baby. She sent plenty of pics and videos and my Koa had a wonderful day!!!! Will be back!!!!🐶🐶”

“Sherman is a regular with Hannah and her Beagle Beauties. He now knows Wednesday is play day to which he responds with much excitement! Thank you Hannah. My Wednesdays are very productive knowing he is well cared for with lots of love and attention.”

About: Look no further! I have a geniune love for dogs. I understand the importance and relability for your baby. Your pet's safety is my priority. I have been a dog lover my entire life. I recently lost my beloved Mr. Jackson November 2023. We both enjoyed our morning /evening walks together. I can walk you fur baby Monday-Thursday mornings between 7:45 and 8:45 a.m. and some evenings after 6pm. I work remote and will never put your pet in a kennel. Your baby will be able to walk around as if he were in your home. I maintain a clean and secure environment.
“Eva and Kallven treated my new 4 month old puppy lovingly like one of their own. I was happy he was able to socialize with other dogs and Eva even separated him from the larger livelier dog she was boarding so he would feel comfortable. She sent me pics and videos showing how well he was doing and was very responsive to my messages. I did a trial doggy daycare to see how my pup did before boarding him for a few days and he did very well!! I felt very comfortable using them to board him during my vacation.”

“Joanna and Brian were great! They were communicative and sent several pictures and updates throughout the evening. We appreciate how kind and loving they were to our boy.”

“I need a place to care for my dog, Coco, in March for about 10 days and since the meet and greet went so well I decided to try the day care service to see how Coco did without me there. It seems like she fit right in. She liked playing with the big dogs and had a fun time. Noel sent me pictures of Coco throughout the stay which helped put my nerves at ease. After I picked Coco up she slept the whole way home. Noel has been very accommodating and professional. I think we not only found a place for Coco to stay during my trip in March I think we found a place for coco to have play days from time to time.”

“I regularly rely on this sitter, often on very short notice. Communication is clear and timely, scheduling is easy even last minute, and most importantly my dogs are always well cared for. They treat my dogs like their own, keep me updated, and give me total peace of mind while I'm at work. I'm incredibly grateful to have them as my go to sitter when I'm in town.”

“Casper our little darling had a wonderful stay at Jose's place. He seemed very happy and Jose kept updating us regularly with photographs and texts. He was also kind to take Casper in at a very short notice and I am very grateful. Thanks again Jose.”

About: Hi, I’m Genaro! I’m a certified veterinary assistant with over 10 years of experience working in animal shelters and animal control. During that time, I worked with both Missouri City Animal Control and BARC (Houston Animal Control), where I cared for dogs and cats of all breeds, sizes, and personalities. I’ve always had a passion for animals and believe in treating them with kindness, patience, and respect — not like those goofy dog catchers you see on TV, haha! Over the years, I’ve handled everything from shy rescues to energetic pups, and I know how to keep pets calm, happy, and safe. I also spent time working at a dog hotel, where I coordinated doggy day camps, walked dogs, and helped administer medicine when needed. These experiences taught me how to read animal behavior, provide comfort, and give every pet the attention they deserve. I may not work in a shelter anymore, but caring for animals will always be a big part of who I am. I’d love the chance to meet your furry friend and make sure they feel right at home while you’re away! 🐶🐾 I work Monday through Friday from 8 to 5, but spending time with animals is still a big part of my day. I’m usually available in the mornings, evenings, and weekends for walks, drop-ins, or just some playtime. For walks and drop-ins, I always focus on keeping pets happy, safe, and relaxed. During walks, I go at their pace — whether it’s a quick potty break or a longer adventure to burn off energy. For drop-ins, I make sure they’re fed, get some playtime, and enjoy a little company before I leave. I always take time to learn each pet’s routine and personality, so they feel comfortable and cared for even when their family’s away. Every visit ends with a happy tail and a few extra belly rubs!

About: I’ve spent a lot of time working with dogs of all personalities, ages, and energy levels. I’m big on patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement, and I naturally help dogs settle into a calm, comfortable routine while they’re here. I pay close attention to their body language and cues, which helps me understand what they need to feel safe and relaxed. Whether your dog is playful, shy, energetic, senior, or still learning a few manners, I provide a structured but loving environment that helps them feel right at home. Pet care is a natural and consistent part of my daily and weekly routine, especially since I work from home. Being home allows me to maintain a structured schedule that includes regular feeding times, fresh water, daily walks, and intentional play sessions to keep your pet physically active and mentally stimulated. I’m able to provide consistent supervision, quick potty breaks, and ongoing attention throughout the day, rather than leaving them alone for long periods. Throughout the week, I also stay on top of grooming, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and scheduling any necessary one-on-one time. Caring for your pet is a responsibility I genuinely value, and working from home allows me to give them the time, structure, and attention they deserve. I provide a calm, safe, and loving environment where pets are treated like family. Since I work from home, I’m able to give pets plenty of attention, supervision, playtime, and bathroom breaks throughout the day. A typical day includes walks, feeding on your preferred schedule, outdoor time, enrichment activities, cuddle time, and regular updates so owners always feel connected and comfortable while away. My home is clean, spacious, and pet-friendly with plenty of room to relax and play. I pay close attention to each pet’s personality, energy level, and routine to help them feel comfortable and stress-free. I also provide complimentary high-quality treats along with fresh protein toppers such as salmon, chicken, turkey, and lean cuts of beef that can be mixed with their kibble for an extra healthy and enjoyable mealtime experience. Whether your pet is active and playful or calm and laid back, they’ll receive personalized care, patience, affection, and lots of love during their stay.

About: I’m a caring and dependable pet sitter who understands that pets are family. I provide a safe, loving, and comfortable environment where your pets can feel happy and cared for while you’re away. I’m passionate about animals and take pride in giving each pet personalized attention, affection, and the care they deserve. Whether it’s walks, playtime, feeding, medication reminders, or simply keeping them company, I treat every pet like my own. Growing up, I’ve had a couple of shihtzus and pugs! I’m currently working full time, but I come home everyday around noon to relieve & feed my dog. I work 5 minutes from home which is the best thing ever! Depending on your unique dog, I have various options. Dog crate, dog gates, pee pads, furry buddy that likes all dogs, and tons of treats!
About: I’ve been a proud pet parent to two wonderful dogs in the past—one small and one medium/large—so I’m experienced with different breeds and personalities. I understand that a fur baby isn’t just a pet, but truly part of the family. Since moving to Houston, I don’t currently have any pets of my own, which means your furry friend will have my full attention and care throughout the day. I can’t wait to meet and care for your fur baby like my own! Since I work from home, your pup will have constant company and plenty of love and attention throughout the day. I will be around all day to give them the care and attention they need. In my home, pets have plenty of room to play and relax. I live in a house with a spacious, fenced backyard that’s perfect for safe outdoor time. Since I don’t currently have any dogs of my own, your pup will get my full attention and care while they’re here. I make sure they feel comfortable, loved, and right at home from the moment they arrive.
“I simply can’t say enough great things about Judith and her wonderful family. Judith cared for my puppy Saint, whom is partially blind. Her sweet children and Molly welcomed Saint into their beautiful home with so much love and patience. I am so thankful.”
“This was my very first time trying doggy daycare for my 1 year old puppy, Snowflake, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. Snowflake is full of endless puppy energy and can definitely be a lot to handle, but Stephanie and her family were completely unfazed and did an absolutely amazing job. They are incredibly caring and treated my pup like one of their own, which put my mind completely at ease. My absolute favorite and unique part about booking with them? Stephanie’s family speaks both English and Spanish! I am so thrilled that Snowflake is getting a little bilingual immersion and learning some Spanish while having fun. If you are looking for an outstanding sitter in town, Stephanie and her family are the absolute best. Snowflake will definitely be a repeat client!!!!!”

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 2,159 sitters in Dewalt, 87% respond to messages in under an hour.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
