Ayla & Han are superlative care providers for our pets and home. We received regular updates with photos, and our pets looked relaxed and happy. Two of our pets tend toward the anxious side, so this is especially impressive. The house was left clean and tidy. They washed the sheets, remade the bed, and even fixed a toilet! I’m sure we will discover more; we just returned late yesterday. We highly recommend Ayla & Han.

Natasha did an exceptional job taking care of our two dogs. She is friendly, courteous and our dogs ooved her. One of our pups is a little skittish with strangers but Natasha was the first person he has ever liked right off the bat. This was our longest time away from our dogs but Natasha was great at keeping in touch with texts and pictures. She is also prompt and on-time so you do not have to worry about her showing up to watch your pets. She not only took great care of our dogs but she took great care of our house. We would highly recommend Natasha to anyone and we will definitely be booking her again for our pet sitting needs.

About: I grew up with a German Shepard. I fostered and trained a Husky. Lastly owned a husky/pitbull mutt mix. I do want a dog now but its just not in the card for me and my partner. I have watched relatives and friend dog in the past. This mifht be my first time on Rover butni have been on WAG for 4 years. I use to be a teacher and now in a place where I am creating my own business. I have time in the day to take care of your little one. Im home right now and have a flexible schedule. Just let me know the times you need and how strict you need me to stay on the schedule. Personally I prefer to keep a puppy in a crate while I am gone. I dog sit for one person that has a small room with food and space to wonder. I prefer to have a room or crate for puppies to avoid accidents. I do have plenty of lawn to have your buddy to run but it is not fenced in. I love hikes and camping so if you are ok with me taking your fur child with me Ill be more than happy to.

About: I currently work from home and would love to travel while serving other animal lovers! I have lived with pets since the age of 4 (4 dogs, 3 horses, 2 birds, 1 turtle, and 25 cats) and can’t get enough. I worked at a vets office for about a year, giving me quite a bit of experience dealing with different kinds of dogs and cats and learning to care for each pet individually. Pets are a wonderful gift and deserve to be treated as such! I’d love to help you take care of your pet so they can live their best life. I look forward to meeting you and your furry friend :) I currently work part time, so I have varying availability throughout the week. Each week, I am free all of Monday, Tuesday and Thursday mornings and evenings, plus Friday and Saturday afternoon! Each pet is a special individual and should be treated as such! You pet will be given whatever care is best for them. I have one red lab myself that would love to go for walks and play with your dog if your dog is looking for a friend!

About: Hi! I’m Morgan! I’ve grown up around animals my entire life, including horses, cats, and dogs, so caring for them comes naturally to me! I currently have a sweet and silly 1.5 year old Frenchie who keeps me on my toes! I recently lost my 11year old German Shepherd, and I’ve found myself really missing that daily companionship. I’d love to share that extra time, care, and affection with your furry family members. I have experience with a wide range of dogs from pups who need strict feeding schedules, senior pups who require patience & care, to large (95lb+) reactive dogs who require solo walks and extra attention. I’m patient, attentive, and always focused on making sure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and loved. You can trust that I’ll care for your pets just like you would, with lots of love, respect, and attention! (Huxley will not be joining during house sitting appointments unless your request him too. :)) I work from home so I have flexibility for local daily drop ins & walks, after work walks, or weekend care. We can discuss your needs and see how that works best for your requirements! I’ll follow any requirements you have for caring for your pets in your home! I am happy to discuss further to make sure I can fulfill your pets needs.

Rachel is wonderful to work with! This is the first time I’ve used someone other than family to watch our pup and she did such an amazing job. Her communication is top notch, daily check-ins, pictures and a recap of the daily activities were so appreciated. She took excellent care of our pup, and our home. Thank you so much Rachel for putting us at ease and knowing our pup was in excellent care!

Amazing sitter!! Bryan watched my house and dog for 8 days while I was out of town and he made sure I felt at ease the whole time. I got plenty of updates and videos, and my dog Nyla looked like she was having a great time with her new buddy. My flight coming home got cancelled due to weather and he was even very flexible with last minute updates to the reservation to help make sure Nyla was still ok. The house was actually left possibly cleaner than how it started, and he followed all the directions given to him, so I’m really hoping to be able to book him again in the future because he’s really everything you could hope for in a house sitter.

I cannot recommend Billie more highly. This was my first time using someone other than my family for overnight support for my reactive pup. Billie is an absolute pro and I felt good the moment she walked in the door for the first time - she has a calm, confident energy and appears entirely unbothered by prickly pups, the exact kind of presence I've found my girl needs. She was gracious and flexible in scheduling progressive visits leading up to the overnights so they could get to know each other and was so communicative with me and loving with my girl while I was out of town. (And a great houseguest on top of it all!) The regular pics she sent confirmed my girl fell in love with her and I feel such an enormous sense of relief having her as another option for upcoming travel.

About: I've been taking care of dogs and puppies since I was little! I had a 105 lb Old English Sheepdog, so I'm very comfortable with big and small dogs! I can go on long, intense walks with hyper puppers or slow, sniff every plant walks! I am currently a college student with a very free schedule! I frequently beg my friends and family to let me take care of their fuzzy friends, and I am available all the time! I do extensive research to make sure every pet has the best care! I follow directions about where pets are allowed to be within the home to make sure everything stays the same as you left it! There will be a lot of outside play time (if it's not too hot) as well as pets and snuggles. I will keep their routine going and make sure they stay happy and healthy!

About: Is your dog an adventurer? Does your pet crave a break during the hectic work day to sniff new sniffs and bark at new squirrels? Does your dog love long walks and sunsets over the mountains? Then I’m the sitter for them! My senior dog and I like to maintain and help maintain your routines to allow dogs to be themselves and explore the world around us in a safe and supervised environment. I've cared for dogs and pets since I was five or six and have over 25 years of experience caring for dogs of all breeds, ages, and health needs. I am Pet CPR and first aid trained. I can provide routine medical care, daily training and positive reinforcement, and specialize in love and care for senior pets. Your adventure-pet will be able to stay fit or get fit depending on their age, needs, and your comfort. Nature walks on-leash are a great option! I only board one pet family at a time, which gives me the opportunity to be diligent with your cats and dogs. It’s like they are at an exclusive resort when staying with me and Dulce for the day or for the weekend! I work primarily from home and love an enriching break for myself, Dulce and for your pets! We take multiple breaks during the day for fresh air and to get good stretching in. If your dog boards with us, we will take a minimum of two walks (am and pm) and will very likely visit one of my two on-site dog parks. Your home is your pet’s castle—please share any rules, expectations, and needs with me in advance to make sure we are all a good fit. With a long background in trusted positions, I will care for your pet, property, and home with respect. I request the same in return, and thank you for that!

About: I grew up taking care of dogs and absolutely love them. Our pets are a part of our family. I think they should be loved and cared for while their owners are away and not put into a cage for the weekend. This causes stress and anxiety! Why should we be having all of the fun our pets deserve a normal weekend while we are away! I enjoy being outside and taking our dogs for walks and playing fetch! I also enjoy just snuggling up with our pup and watching a movie! I will take care of your dog like it is my own so you can have fun and not worry while you're on vacation! I am dependable and honest. Call me for your next vacation!

She adjusted her schedule due to the high temperatures to make sure walks happened when it was cooler. Sarah is a very kind and caring person. We would definitely highly recommend her. Thanks Sarah!

FAQs for House Sitting - Deckers

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of July 2026, there are 2,281 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Deckers. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Deckers walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Deckers maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Deckers choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Deckers. On Rover:

  • 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
