Jewelia was great with our 4 "kids." Fantastic communication before and during the house sit. We got regular pictures, video, and updates on how our kitties were handling us being gone. House was just as neat and tidy as it was before we left. Highly recommend Jewelia if you are looking for a reliable, friendly, and trustworthy sitter. We will definitely be using Jewelia on our next trip! Thanks again Jewelia!

Isabella was great staying with our three pups! It’s hard for us to board outside of the house all together, and Isabella graciously came to stay with them over the weekend we were gone. She provided daily updates and the pups were all healthy and happy when we got home. We will definitely be reaching back out to her next time we’re out of town!

About: I currently work from home and would love to travel while serving other animal lovers! I have lived with pets since the age of 4 (4 dogs, 3 horses, 2 birds, 1 turtle, and 25 cats) and can’t get enough. I worked at a vets office for about a year, giving me quite a bit of experience dealing with different kinds of dogs and cats and learning to care for each pet individually. Pets are a wonderful gift and deserve to be treated as such! I’d love to help you take care of your pet so they can live their best life. I look forward to meeting you and your furry friend :) I currently work part time, so I have varying availability throughout the week. Each week, I am free all of Monday, Tuesday and Thursday mornings and evenings, plus Friday and Saturday afternoon! Each pet is a special individual and should be treated as such! You pet will be given whatever care is best for them. I have one red lab myself that would love to go for walks and play with your dog if your dog is looking for a friend!

We loved having Rachel sit with Lucy! It’s hard to trust someone with your pet and your home but Rachel made us feel so comfortable. We received daily updates on our dog and came back to a happy pup and the house as tidy as we left it. We have no qualms about hiring Rachel in the future!

Bryan is the most amazing, wonderful Dog Sitter we have ever had with Rover.com. He took time to walk Clarence and send us pictures throughout the day. We also have two guinea pigs that he cared for and kept the cage very clean. I feel like he did such a wonderful job even above expectations. Bryan is trustworthy and has become our friend. We definitely would want Bryan to dog sit again.

About: I grew up with a German Shepard. I fostered and trained a Husky. Lastly owned a husky/pitbull mutt mix. I do want a dog now but its just not in the card for me and my partner. I have watched relatives and friend dog in the past. This mifht be my first time on Rover butni have been on WAG for 4 years. I use to be a teacher and now in a place where I am creating my own business. I have time in the day to take care of your little one. Im home right now and have a flexible schedule. Just let me know the times you need and how strict you need me to stay on the schedule. Personally I prefer to keep a puppy in a crate while I am gone. I dog sit for one person that has a small room with food and space to wonder. I prefer to have a room or crate for puppies to avoid accidents. I do have plenty of lawn to have your buddy to run but it is not fenced in. I love hikes and camping so if you are ok with me taking your fur child with me Ill be more than happy to.

About: I grew up taking care of dogs and absolutely love them. Our pets are a part of our family. I think they should be loved and cared for while their owners are away and not put into a cage for the weekend. This causes stress and anxiety! Why should we be having all of the fun our pets deserve a normal weekend while we are away! I enjoy being outside and taking our dogs for walks and playing fetch! I also enjoy just snuggling up with our pup and watching a movie! I will take care of your dog like it is my own so you can have fun and not worry while you're on vacation! I am dependable and honest. Call me for your next vacation!

We am beyond thrilled to have found India as a pet sitter for our 11 year old pup! It was a bit of a last minute booking, but India was nothing short of spectacular! Aside from daily updates and photos, she made sure to give our girl a little extra TLC. Our pup currently has an issue with her leg, and India made sure she was safe and comfortable the whole time we were gone! We’re both high anxiety parents (with an equally anxious dog), and not once did we feel any worry about being out of town! Also - India left our apartment *cleaner* than we left it! It was wonderful coming home to a tidy place and a happy pup! Our dog was happy to see us upon return; but she kept looking at the door for someone else to walk in - and we know who that was! I can’t recommend India enough! 10/10 - no, scratch that - 100/10! Best pet sitter in Denver, hands down!!

Aurelia was absolutely wonderful. We needed a last-minute house and dog sitter for our three dogs, and she stepped in without hesitation. From the start, communication was great, she sent so many photos annd updates and it was immediately clear that she genuinely cared about the dogs and treated them like her own. I wouldn't hesitate to book Aurelia again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and reliable sitter. We're so grateful for her help!

Billie was excellent! We received daily updates and pictures of both dogs, Charlie and Lily. This was the first time we used Rover and we will reach out to Billie again. It's great knowing the dogs have their normal routine and the house is being watched over. Both Lily and Charlie were excited to see us, yet we knew they were perfectly fine and cared for while we were gone. Thanks again, Billie!

About: I grew up with all kinds of dogs and have raised several large breed dogs myself. It currently isn’t the right time for me to welcome a new dog into my life full time but I miss having the company. I’m currently working from home so I have lots of flexibility for cuddles, walks and potty breaks. I’m also a runner and happy to take any high energy dogs out for a tour. I do not have a backyard but am close to parks where we can walk. I have space for a dog bed or crate if needed. My neighborhood is dog friendly.

Alyssa is amazing. My shy, fearful rescue loved her. He isn’t normally quick to open up but within a day he was cuddled up on the couch with her. She kept me thoroughly updated with pictures which made our time apart easier. She is responsive to inquiries and doesn’t leave you questioning what’s happening when you’re away. She is someone I will continue to return to for service time and time again. Link and I thank you! ?

FAQs for House Sitting - Deckers

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of June 2026, there are 2,242 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Deckers. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Deckers walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Deckers maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Deckers choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Deckers. On Rover:

  • 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
