“Isabel and her family were great with our large, 90-pound dog. He can sometimes be stressed when we're away, but when I picked him up, while he was really glad to see me, you could tell he wasn't stressed at all. I took him home, he ate dinner and promptly went to sleep! Thanks Isabel!”

“I would leave 100 stars if possible. This is the first time my dog boarded somewhere other than the typical boarding facility and he will never go back to one of those. Ro kept me updated on Maxx throughout our trip with pictures. I could tell he was happy and well cared for.”

“Cathy took great care of our girl sending pictures throughout the stay. She went above and beyond to recommend altering our pickup time to avoid incoming severe weather and then sheltered in place with our girl during a tornado warning.”

“Vanessa was very accommodating with our ever changing drop off and pick up times. We will definitely ask Vanessa to care for our senior dog Millie the next time we're in the Durham area.”

“Our dogs are pretty hard headed and hard to get along with, but they loved Brittany. From the first meet & greet all the way through the boarding, they were loved and valued as if they were her own dogs! She gave us so many photos and updates so we were always in-the-know on how our dogs were doing. Brittany is so thoughtful she noticed one dog had some bad dry skin so she gave her an oatmeal bath to make her more comfortable. We will definitely be contacting Brittany again!”

“We feel incredibly lucky to have found Ashley & PJ. From the very beginning, they were thoughtful, communicative, and genuinely caring toward Cooper. During uncertain winter road conditions, they were proactive, reassuring, and put safety first without hesitation. Cooper was clearly loved and comfortable, so much so that he came home already hinting at another visit! 😊 It means everything to know your dog is not just looked after, but truly cared for. Highly recommend to anyone looking for someone kind, dependable, and wonderful with dogs.”

“Very satisfactory stay! Ross and Sarah cared for my big dog who had lots of separation anxiety, working with her and accommodating her fears. They were kind and understanding - and sent lots of photos to reassure me! I'll definitely use them again!”

“Joaquin watched my 8 month old Rottweiler, Papa again and it was 10/10! I got frequent updates and never had to worry if my pup was getting the attention and love he needed! Joaquin is great!”

“I can barely begin to describe the amazingness that is Zydae. From our very first message, I knew that she had an incredible gift, and that my senior dog Kuma would be in perfect hands. I had a week long trip planned, and Zydae was accommodating from the very start. She sent loads of sweet pictures, and Kuma immediately made himself at home with her other fur friends. I was so happy and relieved that he was having such a great time, and a little worried he may forget about me!! I came home to an incredibly happy old hound, who basically got a week long retreat at a resort! I couldn't give a higher recommendation, and look forward to working with Zydae the next time I need a sitter. THANK YOU for being the perfect sitter Zydae!!”

“Lauren was terrific! She instantly put my somewhat anxious Basset Hound at ease when we did the meet and greet - and her backyard is simply a paradise for someone like Fern. Lauren kept me updated throughout Fern's stay, and she also asked me questions about Fern that let me know she is experienced and cares about the animals. Fern didn't seem to be very eager to leave. We will definitely visit with Lauren again if she will have us!”

“Rachel is a fantastic sitter. I can not express how thankful I am for her looking after my 17 yr old dog and 1 yr old cat. Both fur babies were so happy. She kept me posted about both of them. My Tom was so happy at her home, I can tell by his face. Thank you Rachel and your family looking after my fur babies”

“My elderly dachshund loved cuddling with them, and I loved getting personalized text updates and pictures during time apart from my darling boy. Would def choose Scott and Ellen again. :)”
“Alex was wonderful. Marvel seems so happy with him! He was a great communicator and offered me a lot of flexibility when my travel plans changed a little. Highly recommend and will be using him again next time I’m in town!”

“Angela (and her own little dog and young son) provided a wonderful week for my old, anxious little dog. She kept me posted with her photos and comments - Sandy clearly felt at home and very secure. I will definitely be booking with her whenever we need boarding or day care for Sandy!”

“Abby was able to take our dog at the last minute and she picked up and dropped off Simon on time. She clearly cares for the dog, sends update and asks questions when seeing something unusual. Will book with her again.”

“Lakonka was theeee best sitter. From the meet and greet to the end of Phoebe’s stay, she was extremely professional, super friendly and easy to communicate with. I received pictures or a video every day which is truly appreciated when I’m away from my baby awhile. I highly recommend Lakonka for your fur baby’s needs. So much so, I’ve already coordinated the next time Phoebe will be in her care :)”

“Tina is wonderful with Ruby! Ruby absolutely loves her and especially loves her chocolate Lab, Charlie. I really appreciate the care and attention Tina gives her and would definitely recommend her!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Crutchfield Crossroads
Isabel is a superb host! She and her family are now my first choice! My dog is clearly very happy there and well taken care of. I am happy to detour out in the country to Isabel's place because I know my sweetheart dog will get loving care and also enjoy the social time with Isabels family and other sweet dogs. I highly recommend her! It is such a relief to know my pup is also enjoying a little play-vacation while I'm gone. I feel less like they learn some Mama💜 dropping her kid off at kindergarten for the first time :))) and instead happy for her enrichment :)).

This was our first time letting Isabel take care of our bloodhound and it was an amazing experience. We were able to get away for a short vacation and not worry about our dog at all - knowing he was also having a great time playing with Isabel's family and her dogs.

The best! Isabel and her family are so great with dogs! My pup gets happy when she realizes where she is and can't wait to hop out and play. Isabel is so nice and easygoing, my pup feels at home. Isabel has been very understanding of my adjusting to the Rover platform too since is devised not to install the app. I feel confident it's a great place and her photos are frameable! .💚💚💚

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Crutchfield Crossroads home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Crutchfield Crossroads.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Crutchfield Crossroads sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
