About: Animals have always been a part of my life! I grew up with rabbits, had my first dog at 15 who was a part of my family for 14 amazing years, and have had a cat of my own for the past 6 years. Being around animals has always brought me so much joy, and pet sitting is something I genuinely love doing. I love getting outside for walks, playing at the dog park, enjoying some fresh air, and, of course, giving plenty of belly rubs, snuggles, and attention! Whether your pet is an energetic adventurer or a professional cuddle, I want them to feel safe, happy, loved, and right at home while you're away. I know pets are family, and I would treat yours with the same love, patience, and care that I give my own. I work from home, which gives me plenty of flexibility to provide your pets with lots of love, attention, and companionship throughout the day! I'm available 7 days a week and can accommodate a variety of schedules, including overnight stays. I prefer caring for pets in the comfort of their own home, where they can stick to their familiar routines and feel safe in their own environment while you're away. Whether you need drop-in visits, walks, house sitting, or overnight care, I'm happy to work with you to find the best fit for your pets' needs. My goal is to make your time away as stress-free as possible for both you and your furry family members! Your pets' safety, comfort, and happiness are always my top priorities! As a lifelong animal lover and experienced pet owner, I understand how important it is to find someone you can trust with your fur babies. Since I work from home, I have the flexibility to provide attentive, personalized care and plenty of companionship. This is also really ideal for puppies and older dogs that need more hands-on assistance. I prefer keeping pets in their own homes, where they feel most comfortable and can maintain their familiar routines while you're away. Whether we're enjoying walks, spending time outside, playing, or relaxing with some well-deserved belly rubs and snuggles, I want your pets to feel safe, loved, and cared for. I'll respect your home, follow your instructions, and do my best to keep your pets happy and comfortable. You can enjoy your time away knowing your fur babies are being treated like family, right in the place they call home.

About: Due to over 5 years of dog sitting experience, I’ve developed a strong understanding of routine care, attentive care, and providing a safe environment for a pet. I want to ensure not only you feel comfortable letting me take care of your furry animal but for them to feel secure as well. My availability is very flexible for the most part. During weekdays, I can do Tuesday-Friday anytime between 8:30 AM-5 PM. On Saturdays and Sundays I’m available 7 AM-3PM. I make sure to only stay in areas I’m allowed to roam in. If it’s my first time meeting a pet, I’m patient with them when it comes to building trust towards me. Some dogs are more timid than others! I’m very productive on punctuality with feeding times/arrival times and send updates to the owner on their pet.

About: I was raised with a Swiss mountain dog for an older sister, and became her caretaker in later years. I’ve had dogs in my life ever since, and have learned the right mix of patience, attention, and love that it takes to give them the life they deserve! As a recent college grad who moved away from home, I dearly miss my own dog and would love to meet yours ❤️ As a Duke grad, I now work at the Duke Campus Farm as a communications fellow. My days end early, and a large percentage of work can be done remotely while watching your pup. As someone who has dealt with their fair share of naughty pets, I can keep a watchful eye on your dog in or out of the house and crate as needed.

About: Hello! My name is Katelyn and I am a true animal lover! I have a B.A. in Animal Science, Production, and Business Management. I have worked with animals in various settings: •veterinary clinic/hospital •daycare/boarding facility for dogs •animal shelter •dairy farm These jobs have allowed me to gain more animal handling skills, breed knowledge, behavior and body language! I have one dog of my own named Birdie, and one in heaven named Snorty. Both are Labrador Retrievers, who loves playing fetch, swimming, and car rides. Animals have always played a huge part of who I am today. Your animal will be treated properly and showered with love. I thank you for your consideration and I cannot wait to meet all the fur babies! I work M-F at my full time job. I can be flexible and we can arrange around times if need too- just know I have a job that I have to be at 8am-6pm. With having experience from working at an animal clinic, dog daycare and boarding facility, and even an animal shelter, knowledge from college, and working at farms I have incredible animal husbandry skills. I know how to administer medicine, if needed. Also, know what signs to look for when an animal is sick. Having a dog myself, I will care and love your fur baby like it’s my own!

About: I grew up with dogs since I was 12, from a chihuahua mix to a labrador mix. I've had my current dog, a shi-tzu poodle mix, for 8 years now! I also have 2 cats as well. I have fostered kittens and have found furever homes with trusted friends and neighbors. I've cared for my neighbors' and friends' dogs when they vacation. They have entrusted me with their dogs and cats to walk, bathe, and feed them. I love animals and deeply care and respect every little critter that comes my way. Aftering graduating App State this past May, I stay in Boone and sometimes travel back home. I currently have time more time on my hands than usual. I welcome any pet and will treat them like my own. I live in an apartment and love going to the Greenway trail so I'll be sure to exercise your pet and am willing to care for them in the comfort of their own home.

About: I will offer the best dog sitting and walking you can get. I have three dogs of my own and they love going on walks daily! Your doggies will be in great hands and I’ll treat them as mine! I have a huge passion for caring for animals in general. I am very energetic and love playing with dogs. I do not have professional experience but would love to start out doing this and hopefully making a career out of it! I understand how important it is for animals to get their exercise and it is necessary for us to live a long life. Let me keep your dogs in shape and love your babies. God bless you! Thank you for your time and consideration. I’m currently working part time cleaning houses and would have plenty of time to care for your animals. I could come as needed to take care of your fur babies. I have chickens and dogs and make sure they are fed and watered daily. My dogs get walked every other day, I try to keep them active.

I was really looking for a sitter that would not only be reliable, but that also cared about the wellbeing of my pet. Cindy is this type of sitter! I could tell from her reports that she really took the time to make sure that all of my cat's needs were met - from feeding, to petting, to cleaning his litterbox. I would highly recommend her!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats, young and old, since 2019. I’m a lifelong animal lover who’s parented guinea pigs and parakeets as well. I pride myself on creating enriching experiences for the animals I sit through play and exercise. I’m a freelancer by trade and work for myself so I have open availability during both weekdays and weekends with limited notice needed to make myself available. I ask that pet owners provide any necessary supplies as I do not have them at home. I do live in a newer apartment complex with a fenced in playground for dogs to run around and lots of sidewalk space for walks.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.

Before booking, confirm:

  • the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
  • the care instructions the sitter should follow;
  • which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
  • how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.

Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .

sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
