“Ashley has done a drop-in for our two senior pups in the past. This time we left her with our puppy while we took the seniors on a weekend getaway. She sent regular photo/text updates. He was happy, and everything was chill when we got home. Ashley is great, and will absolutely show your fur-kid a lot of TLC while leaving your house in perfect order.”

About: I grew up with many pets. For example, I’ve had 6 birds, 3 hamsters, 1 dwarf gerbil, 1 leopard gecko, 2 cats, 2 dogs, and possibly more. I currently have 2 dogs. Both are rescues. Jasper is 2 years old and I’ve had him since he was about a month old if even that, and Raleigh who is 7 now. I’ve had her since she was 2. Aside from the doggy babies, I also currently have a brown anole that I took in from Florida. His name is Tommy and I’ve had him for 4 months now. He was a baby when I found him. I also have 2 fish, Gumball and Penny. I personally believe all animals are babies. I’ve also pet sit for family members before. I’m currently working part time and I am also a freshman in College. I do have a good bit of free time, and because I don’t live alone I have people home to help take care of my furry and scaled friends, where as some people may need some extra help that I’d be able to provide! I was raised right. I’m respectful, do not cross boundaries, and know better than to disrespect clients (human and animal, of course!) I’m a big empath, I love animals beyond comprehension. I’m a vegetarian that’s working my way to veganism if that can show you how empathetic I am. I also cry while watching Ratatouille. I love walking, I love talking to animals, I treat animals as if they are literal babies because they are just too cute!
“I booked a 10 house-sitting stay with Mika and was overjoyed to see videos of my retriever mix so very happy and comfortable. I could tell my Mila loved the attention she got. My dog is 12yr old this coming July and I wanted someone with experience. Mika's vet assistant background was perfect as well as her history with rescues and special needs pets. My anxiety for such a long stay was quickly eased after the first photos and texts. Mika's upbeat attitude is refreshing. She's totally focused on Mila"s every need. I gladly recommend her. I will certainly book again. Deb”
“Sanai was an absolute delight! She is incredibly respectful, clean, and kind, and took exceptional care of our three-month-old puppy, Obi. My husband and I highly recommend her and fully trust her to care for our fur baby in the future.”

“Sarah was absolutely wonderful with Parker! From the very beginning, she made me feel comfortable and confident that Parker was in great hands. She was attentive, caring, dependable, and treated Parker like she was her own. Parker was happy and well cared for when I returned, which gave me so much peace of mind. It’s not always easy trusting someone new with your dog, but Sarah completely exceeded my expectations. I’m so glad we found her and will definitely be booking with her again. I highly recommend Sarah to anyone looking for a trustworthy, loving, and reliable sitter! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

“Anh was wonderful with our dog Wilbur- she sent us updates and was really sweet to him. She stayed over at our place which we appreciated because our pup can get a little anxious. Anh left us a very nice note and left the house very clean. We will definitely be reaching out to Anh again until the future for dog care!!”

“First time anyone has watched Chloe overnight besides my parents and Chloe is 11.5! Linda made me feel at ease and kept me updated on how Chloe was doing! Linda made sure Chloe got all her medicine. Highly recommend Linda”
About: I currently work at a veterinary hospital, where caring for animals is part of my daily routine. I have hands-on experience with feeding, administering basic care, monitoring behavior, and handling pets of all temperaments. I also have cats of my own, so I understand the importance of patience, comfort, and routine. I’m confident caring for both dogs and cats, including those that may need extra attention, and I always treat every pet like my own. I work Monday through Friday at a veterinary hospital, so I’m already actively caring for animals throughout the day. I’m available for pet care services in the evenings after work and fully available on weekends. My schedule allows me to provide consistent, reliable care while still giving your pet plenty of attention and time. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. With my experience in a veterinary setting, I’m trained to recognize signs of stress, illness, or unusual behavior. I take time to learn each pet’s routine and needs to make them feel as comfortable as possible. Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or yours, I provide a calm, clean, and secure environment and follow all instructions closely.
About: I’ve been caring for animals for over 10 years, with experience caring for cats, dogs, bearded dragons, turtles, rabbits, and other small pets. My love for animals eventually led me to work professionally in the pet-care field, starting at a grooming salon in Brentwood, Maryland. I’ve also worked in a veterinary clinic as a Veterinary Technician Assistant, where I gained hands-on experience caring for animals, recognizing changes in their behavior and health, assisting with treatments, and making sure pets feel safe and comfortable. As a lifelong pet owner myself, I understand that every animal has their own personality, routine, and needs. I treat every pet in my care like they’re my own and always prioritize their safety, comfort, and happiness. ❤️🐾 I work full-time, but I’m available for weekend pet care and services before or after work depending on my schedule. I’m happy to communicate about your pet’s routine and find a schedule that works for both of us. Whether your pet needs walks, drop-in visits, feeding, playtime, medication assistance, or simply some company while you’re away, I’d love the opportunity to care for them! 🐶🐱💕 Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I take the time to learn each pet’s routine, personality, feeding schedule, medications, and any special instructions before providing care. When caring for pets in their home, I treat their space with the same respect I would my own. I make sure doors and gates are securely closed, pets are supervised appropriately, and their food, water, medications, and belongings are kept safe and organized. With my veterinary clinic experience, I’m comfortable recognizing changes in behavior or signs that something may not be right and will communicate with you promptly if I have any concerns. I also understand how important it is for pets to feel comfortable with someone new, so I never rush the process and allow them to warm up to me at their own pace.

My background includes administering medications, maintaining clean and comfortable litter boxes, and providing specialized care to ensure every pet feels safe, loved, and understood. Trust me to bring expertise and genuine affection to every walk, cuddle, and visit with your furry family members. I also provide plenty of love, attention, and playtime, maintaining open communication with you to keep you updated on your pet's well-being.
“Mya was fantastic. She spent 4 nights dog sitting in our home with our older dog. She updated us with pics and couldn’t have been more professional. Highly highly recommend!”
“Oh Myles! He is the absolute sweetest! He took care of my babies this weekend and was more than accommodating. Our girl is Leary of newer people and barked and growled at him when he entered our home. He took his time and didn’t give up and they became best buds. He was very respectful of our home and focused on the dogs to make them feel comfortable the entire time. Myles is the ONLY sitter who will watch my dogs when we travel. Welcome to the family!!”

About: I have been a dog person my whole life, some say animals just love me. I will care for them as if they were my own living child. I will make your dog find love in me as he did with you and make him happy even while you’re away. I’m always a text or call away to ensure your dog is always having a good day. If you're ever having an emergency and need to step away from the home and need a quick sitter or over night sitter I’m the guy. My prices are not high and I will work with you if you need me to because it’s not about the money it’s all about the dog. Thank you and bless all P.S if your tired from work and want your dog to get maximum exercise call/text me and I will be there or you can come to me to make all your troubles go away.
“Bri, was amazing! We will be using her for our pets for any time we travel. The care, communication, and the peace of mind she gave us when we traveled was unmatched. She cared for our dog and cat and they seemed so happy.”

About: I've been around dogs since I was six years old, so caring for them has always been a natural part of my life. Growing up, I helped walk, feed, bathe, and care for dogs of all ages and personalities. I also have experience looking after pets when they're not feeling well, including cleaning up after digestive issues and providing extra patience and attention. I've cared for cats as well, including those with medical conditions, making sure they're comfortable, following care instructions, and giving them the love and attention they need. To me, pets have always been more than animals—they've been like family, almost like my own brothers and sisters. I enjoy spending time playing with them, keeping them active, and making sure they feel safe, happy, and loved while their owners are away. My goal is to treat every pet as if they were my own It gives me the freedom to continue to focus and work in school. I can be around animals which I love and adore. I’m happy. In my home I try to make sure they can go outside as much as possible. The times when I’ve had pets it’s been very important to me to emulate an environment that is similar to what they would find in the wildlife. It’s important to me the pets feel free and happy. Have enough space to stretch out. That they can enjoy their lives as much as I am enjoying them.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of September 2026, there are 9,163 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Croom. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Croom walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Croom maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Croom choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Croom. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
