“I booked Michaela for the weekend to housesit and stay with my dog. My dog can be reactive with other dogs, so I’m always nervous to leave her with new people. She did great with Michaela! Additionally, my flight back got canceled, and Michaela stayed overnight again and then my second flight got very delayed and Michaela was very nice to extend her stay and stay with my dog a little longer. Ensure she had gone potty and been fed before I got home since I was getting home very late. Additionally, the house was very organized and clean. I will definitely be booking Michaela again!!”

About: I can adapt to a pet’s mood/temperament and do the upmost to remain mindful of all their needs! I grew up helping my dad raise and breed beagles and I have cared for pets over 20 years whether they were my own or owned by family. I joined in 2024 when I lived in Kansas City, MO but ended up having zero time! So now that I’m back in Maryland, I’m ready to assist pets and their owners! 🩷 I am in school full-time so am mostly available on Friday evenings and all day on Saturdays and Sundays. Very occasionally, I can be available for pet care weekday evenings. I do not board pets as one of my cats is very anxious so I will have to go to client’s home to pet sit. Nevertheless, I will triple check that everything is in place and doors are locked prior to leaving a client’s home. For walking, I will triple check that leashes/harnesses are secure and I do not listen to music so I can be 100% aware of my surroundings and the needs of furbabies.

I work from home, with either a daytime schedule of 10 a.m.–6 p.m. or an evening schedule of 4–11 p.m. This allows me to build pet care into my daily routine and make time for meals, bathroom breaks, play, and companionship. Being home is only part of it; paying attention matters just as much. Pets can’t tell us what they need in words, so I take time to notice their habits, body language, and little requests for attention. Whether that means a nudge for a bathroom break, an invitation to play, or wanting someone nearby, I care about learning how your pet communicates. I do have focused work periods, so we’ll discuss your pet’s routine and care needs before booking to make sure my availability is a good fit. This is especially important for older pets who may need more frequent check-ins or a particular schedule. I want to understand what a comfortable day looks like for your pet and how I can help keep it that way while you’re away. I start by learning the little things that matter to your pet: their familiar routines, favorite activities, where they like to rest, and how they let you know they need something. I follow your instructions for meals, walks, bathroom breaks, litter care, and rest, with time for play and affection on their terms. In your home, I keep your pet’s routine as familiar as possible and treat your space with care and respect. I let your pet get comfortable with me at their own pace, whether they’re ready to play right away or prefer a quieter introduction. Senior pets are especially close to my heart.
