Anh was amazing with Pico. She jumped in last minute and handled everything so thoughtfully - including some unexpected tummy issues and his occasional puppy chaos. She kept me fully updated the whole time and sent lots of great photos, which I really appreciated. It made such a difference being able to see how he was doing. Pico is used to being with me all the time, so social interaction is really important for him. Anh adjusted to Pico’s needs and routine and also made him part of hers - giving him so much extra love and attention. You can’t always guarantee that level of care when you’re away, and I’m so grateful I never had to worry. I would absolutely recommend Anh to anyone without hesitation!

About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was a kid. I had a golden growing up for 15 years and now have a dog of my own! I love going on long walks with dogs who need it, playing fetch, and giving lots of scritches and love! No dog is too small or too big for me. Happy to accommodate anything your pet needs! I’m currently working part time and have a very flexible schedule. I work in VA and living MD so I’m really all over the map. I would prefer any time after 3 but can also come in the mornings with enough heads up. I do not have a fenced in back yard but do have a nice trail to walk on and get some energy out. I also have a lead in the backyard to keep the dogs safe and not escape if they would like to roam freely. My coonhound has been just fine with the set up! I also have a crate if preferred. My dog is friendly with others and loves other dogs!

About: I've been around dogs since I was six years old, so caring for them has always been a natural part of my life. Growing up, I helped walk, feed, bathe, and care for dogs of all ages and personalities. I also have experience looking after pets when they're not feeling well, including cleaning up after digestive issues and providing extra patience and attention. I've cared for cats as well, including those with medical conditions, making sure they're comfortable, following care instructions, and giving them the love and attention they need. To me, pets have always been more than animals—they've been like family, almost like my own brothers and sisters. I enjoy spending time playing with them, keeping them active, and making sure they feel safe, happy, and loved while their owners are away. My goal is to treat every pet as if they were my own It gives me the freedom to continue to focus and work in school. I can be around animals which I love and adore. I’m happy. In my home I try to make sure they can go outside as much as possible. The times when I’ve had pets it’s been very important to me to emulate an environment that is similar to what they would find in the wildlife. It’s important to me the pets feel free and happy. Have enough space to stretch out. That they can enjoy their lives as much as I am enjoying them.

Nicole stayed at our place to watch our cat for almost two weeks and did a fantastic job! She was responsive and checked in regularly, and we came home to a happy cat. Our cat is very social and needs a lot of interaction and playtime, and it gave us peace of mind knowing Nicole was looking after him. Plus she took great care of our house and kept our plants alive. We’ll happily call on her again to take care of our cat when we’re out of town!

Ashley was fantastic! One of the best rover experiences we’ve had. She did everything we requested and more. It’s evident that she loves dogs and our dogs loved her too, even our fragile shelter pup who takes awhile to warm up. Both our pups were calm, energetic and happy when we got home, couldn’t have asked for more.

Dee is amazing! She’s always on time, very sweet, and respectful to me, my pup, and my house! It’s a huge relief to have someone I trust and someone who my dog loves to watch him. I’m especially grateful because my dog is high anxiety and she was patient as he got familiar with her through meet and greets before she watched him for the weekend. My pup loves her and I’ll absolutely be booking with her again!

I had the pleasure of meeting Aliyah during a meet-and-greet for my puppy, Asparagus, and I was very impressed. She was kind, knowledgeable, professional, and has a genuine love for animals. Asparagus had only been home with me for a few days after coming from a farm, so he’s still adjusting to city life and was understandably shy. Although he didn’t fully warm up to Aliyah, he did allow her to take him for a walk, and she was incredibly patient and respectful of his pace. Aliyah also shared some great tips to help keep him calm and settled, which I truly appreciated. This visit was simply to help them get acquainted, and I’m confident they’ll build a wonderful bond over time. We look forward to having Aliyh care for Asparagus in the near future. I highly recommend her!

About: I have been a lover of all animals for as far back as I can remember and have taken care of them both personally and professionally. I have been employed by zoos and aquariums, worked with tigers, made diets for birds of prey, and assisted Marine Biologists with shark tanks and coral reefs. My training has not just been in educating the public, but in positive reinforcements. Everything from dogs, cats, snakes, hedgehogs, frogs, and so many more have been in my care over the course of my life for one reason or another. I am my friends' go-to for anything they've ever been curious about when it comes to our natural world. And being a dog mom of two myself has been one of the most rewarding privileges I've been able to experience. Pet care for me is 24/7 for my own babies, but I am available Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and some Wednesdays for any and all services. My pupperonies have been crate trained by me, but for the most part free roam. They have designated areas for when the hoomans are out of the house where they are allowed to nap and play with their toys or each other. Both have been socialized and are respectful of the other dog in the home. Both dogs get 3 walks per day, one in the morning, one in the afternoon, and one in the evening to ensure they are exercised as well as some off leash play in the yard. For clients, I am attentive to each animals’ needs and respectful of owner requests. It is important for me to get to know your fluffybutt as much as possible in order to provide optimal care.

With a love for all breeds and a commitment to personalized care, I offer dog walking services that go beyond just a quick stroll. Whether it’s a lively adventure or a calm, scenic walk, I treat your furry friend like my own—ensuring they get the exercise, attention, and affection they deserve. Let me help give your dog the best walk of their day! I work from home and have a car. I’m open to early morning walks and evenings. I can also provide support during most weekends and holidays. About: I’ve been a huge animal lover my entire life! I grew up with a family dog for 14 years, and for the last 2 years, I've been a cat parent to my own kitty, so I understand both dog and cat personalities. I’ve been the sitter for my friends and family whenever they go out of town. Plus, giving back to animals is super important to me; I've been volunteering at animal shelters since high school and still do today. Whether your fur baby needs lots of playtime, long walks, or just some cozy cuddles, I'll treat your baby like my own! My work gives me flexibility throughout the week. From Monday-Friday, I normally work in the office from 12-6pm. So, I am available for early morning and late morning walks before I leave, and I am back in time for dinner and evening care. My weekends are pretty open, so I have plenty of time for extended visits and walks. I follow all the rules and instructions you give me for both your house and your pet's care. Whether your pet has a specific feeding schedule, strict house boundaries, or a precise medication routine, I will make sure everything is done exactly the way you want it. Your home and your pet’s comfort and safety are my top priorities while you are away

Oh Myles! He is the absolute sweetest! He took care of my babies this weekend and was more than accommodating. Our girl is Leary of newer people and barked and growled at him when he entered our home. He took his time and didn’t give up and they became best buds. He was very respectful of our home and focused on the dogs to make them feel comfortable the entire time. Myles is the ONLY sitter who will watch my dogs when we travel. Welcome to the family!!

I can’t say enough good things about Sabrina! From the moment we met, it was clear our dogs were in loving and capable hands. She went over and beyond in every possible way—sending regular updates, photos, and even taking extra time to make sure the house was spotless when we returned. Our pups were happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for (they might have been a little disappointed to see us come home!). It’s such a relief to find someone so trustworthy and genuinely caring. We came back to a tidy home, extra tlc to our home and wagging tails. If you’re looking for someone who treats your pets and your home as if they were their own, I can’t recommend Sabrina highly enough. We’ll definitely be booking again!

FAQs for House Sitting - Westphalia

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Westphalia on Rover is $46.62 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 10,305 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Westphalia. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Westphalia walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Westphalia maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Westphalia choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Westphalia. On Rover:

  • 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
