“Excellent and very gentle with my ailing elderly dog with KD and dementia. After numerous cancellations on another site, rover.com came through in a big way with Haley the day before my family trip and I am very grateful I could enjoy my family vacation feeling good that Haley was sitting for my Bella and Prudence. We have our go to sitter from now on!!!”

“Madyson felt like family the moment we met, I knew she’d take great care of my lil guy 🥰 expectations exceeded! This was my first time using the sitting service and I’ll definitely do it again thanks to her.”

“She's an awesome sitter for my 3 dogs, she has been coming here on time and done her duty by letting my dogs in the backyard for 3 days straight definitely will hire her again in the future. Very reliable.”

“We left our cat for over 2 weeks, and since we’ve only had her for a few months, we were nervous about how she would adjust. They visited her twice a day to feed and give her attention. They sent photos and detailed updates every visit on her eating and behavior. They really put us at ease - we will absolutely book them again in the future!”

“Kiffin always goes above and beyond for our girl. She will clean up any messes that our pup made while she was alone, always gives her what she needs, and had even been known to stay a few extra minutes for our girl sometimes! It’s Kiffin or no one for our household!”

“Brooklyn was the best cat sitter!! I was super nervous to leave my two kittens for two weeks and she made me feel completely at ease. She sent great photos and updates each day. My two kittens seemed to really love her. She even offered to water my plants! I asked her to open my kittens advent calendars and stockings at Christmas time and she was so great about it haha!! Would definitely recommend and will be coming back!”

“Alicia was a great sitter. Took awesome care of our puppies and was an awesome communicator. She performed all the puppy duties and counted everything through rover including all the walks. I highly recommend Alicia!. Loved the pictures”

“Mason is so good with our cats. They tend to be skittish around other people but they love him. He is a great communicator and your fur babies would be lucky to have him take care of them.”

“Alicia was great with my shy and anxious pup. She also agreed to check in on him last minute. I would definitely recommend her to watch your pups and will be using her services again. Thanks so much!”

About: Empathetic and caring towards pets. My first pet was a fish, named Cogi. Since then I've had a gerbil, dog (bichon frise) named Casso, and now have two cats (littermates - part maine coon - Sage & Chowder). I have enjoyed times when I volunteered with child care and senior care facilities in the past as well. Always enjoy spending time with and connecting with pets. Rarely if ever meet any pet I have difficulty connecting with. I'm currently self employed, studying for MO real estate exam & license, and often engaged in other opportunities on the side as well. However, despite my busy schedule at times, I am quite proficient at juggling tasks, maintaining physical & mental health, eating healthy, exercising when possible, and still prioritizing pet care in the midst of it all! I can bring toys, treats, food, litter or anything needed, but am not currently boarding pets at my residence. I will do everything I can to make your pet(s) feel comfortable, clean up after myself and any pet(s), and keep you informed of anything out of the normal.
“This was the second trip I’ve had Michael watch my cat during and it is nice to not have anything to worry about. My cat is well taken care of and my place is spotless when I return.”

“Sarah did a great job taking care of our cat. I loved the daily photos and was pleased to see that Sarah was able to win over our normally standoffish kitty! It gave us great peace of mind to know all was well at home while we were away.”

“Sarah did a great job taking care of my cats. She provided updates and pictures with each visit, so I always knew how everyone was doing. I would have her take care of them again.”

“My dog LOVES Nicholas. He took the time to bond with her. He is reliable and kind. My mind was at ease knowing Nicholas was there to feed, walk, and comfort my dog.”

“Alexandria took great care of our kitties while we were out of town! We have some finicky eaters and one who needs meds, and she didn’t have any issues with them. She was also kind enough to take our garbage cans from the curb and get the mail. I would highly recommend her!!”

About: I've been surrounded by animals my entire life and have over 20 years of hands-on experience caring for pets of all kinds. I grew up with multiple cats and raised my beloved Cavapoo for 16 wonderful years, giving me firsthand experience with every stage of a pet's life—from playful puppies and kittens to senior care. I'm also the trusted pet sitter for my family and friends, regularly caring for dogs and cats while they're away. I understand that every pet has a unique personality and routine, and I strive to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you're gone. Whether it's walks, playtime, feeding, medication, or simply providing companionship, I'll care for your pets as if they were my own. I work from home, which gives me a flexible schedule to provide attentive, reliable care for your pets throughout the day. Whether your pet needs walks, potty breaks, feeding, playtime, medication, or just some extra companionship, I'm able to adjust my schedule to meet their needs and keep their routine as consistent as possible. I believe every pet deserves personalized care based on their individual routine, personality, and needs. In my client's home, I strive to keep pets comfortable by maintaining their normal schedule for feeding, walks, playtime, medication (if needed), and plenty of love and attention. I always treat my clients' homes with the utmost respect and provide regular updates and photos so you can have peace of mind while you're away. My goal is to make your pet feel safe, happy, and cared for until you return.
“Suzanne went above and beyond for the week she watched my kitty. She’s a great communicator and made me feel very comfortable leaving my fur baby when I went home for the holidays. I’ll definitely use her again next time I’m out of town! Xox”

About: I’m that girl who will say hi to every animal I see. I grew up with a beagle and now have black lab mix named Louie, who I rescued in 2019. He is my “child”. 😂 im currently figuring out my career goals after working in accounting and finance roles for the past 15 years. This gives me plenty of flexibility during the day to care for your pup! I have fostered dogs through Is Today My Day rescue and have successfully gotten 4 dogs adopted. It’s not easy saying goodbye but makes me so happy knowing they are going to loving families. I’m so excited to meet your furry family member and love them like one of my own! I’m currently very flexible during the day time so I’m pretty open to dog walks or drop ins when needed. I no longer provide boarding services. My dog has full run of my home. He sleeps in my bed and I have no issues allowing others to do the same. I have a fenced in large patio area with partial yard to potty and play off leash.
“Susan took such great care of my little fur baby while I was away for the holidays. She kept me updated with her visits and I knew my little Kiwi was in a great, loving hands while I was gone. I highly recommend Susan if you want someone who truly loves dogs and who'll care for them like they're her own. I will be using Susan to car for my fur baby whenever I need to travel.”

Sarah is fantastic with both kitties! She gives amazing updates with so much color commentary that I can absolutely picture what has been going on. Both kitties love all their playtime and cuddles they get from her too. I do not worry at all when I need to travel due to her superb care.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Country Life Acres. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 93% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
