“As a first time Rover user, Missy provided such a wonderful experience start to finish. She arranged a meet a greet prior to booking which allowed us to see how our dog interacted with her and the environment, provided numerous daily updates and photos while we were away, and returned a happy pup to us at pickup. Will definitely use her again for future needs!”

“I just moved to the area and needed a sitter while traveling on business. I have a senior dog with Cushings disease and cancer. It killed me to leave her for a few days. But Ceinwen did a great job caring for her, and it wasn’t long until I could tell she felt right at home.”

“Scott loves dog and my dog had a great time with him. What attracted my attention at the beginning was Scott’s long term experience of taking care of dogs and turned a rescued dog into a therapy dog. During meet and greet, Scott was transparent and he told me his life stories particularly with dogs by showing many pictures. He missed his last dog Jack very much. He also patiently learned my dog’s behavior in order to make my dog being less stressful and comfortable during boarding. He was willing to make changes to accommodate my dog’s behavior and he prepared well before I dropped off my dog. He updated me at least once a day with multiple pictures. I could see my dog was happy, playful and tired. When I picked up my dog, Scott reviewed details with me what happened during my dog’s stay. I highly recommend Scott being your dog sitter. Your dog will be in good hands.”

“Tracy was nice - she video called prior to the booking, was very responsive and sent multiple updates each day. My dog was so tired after coming home from playing and having fun!”

“Khalaya did a spectacular job caring for my rambunctious Maine Coon kitten Wesley while away in Europe. Communicated well with daily updates and pics with stories of playtime and reports of how well he was behaving. No brainer choice for future boarding arrangements. Thanks!”

“Jean took excellent care of my two pups! They are both young, full of energy and sometimes naughty. Jean took it all in stride. She really cares about their well-being and happiness. She gave them the love and attention that they needed. She also provided me with updates to set me at ease and allow me to enjoy vacation.”

“Bobbi took excellent care of our girl! We are very particular with who we let watch her, but Bobbi made us feel at ease right away as it is so clear how much she loves dogs. Both of her dogs are so well behaved and great companions for a visiting dog. We received plenty of pictures and videos showing us that our dog was on a fun vacation of her own! We will absolutely trust Bobbi again if we need a dog sitter!”

“Very friendly and communicative. Sent photo updates. Very quick response time. Oakley seemed so happy to be there and got along with her family well. My dog had an uncharacteristic accident (pee) over night and Ana handled this without issue or frustration. She helped Oakleys settle in and feel comfortable so this didn’t happen again!”
“Katherine is a wonderful dog sitter! She took very good care of Yogi while we were away. She kept us updated and frequently sent pictures of Yogi. We will certainly have Yogi stay with her again!”
“Kimberle was fantastic with our 2 dogs. This was their first stay away from home and she treated them as if they were her own. She went above and beyond to soothe their nerves and provide a comfortable environment for them. Would recommend highly!”

“Janette and her family were so wonderful watching our new puppy Simon! She proactively sent updates and Simon was treated like a member of the family. We’ll definitely be repeat customers!”

“Emanuel was awesome!! We had to leave town to see our newborn grandson and couldn't take Hilde. We were nervous because Hilde is only 6months old, but we were soon at ease because Hilde was having so much fun with Emanuel. She was very well taken care of. I highly recommend him and Hilde will absolutely be staying with him again.”

“Kim was incredibly concerned about my dog, Laila. I neglected to inform her about my dog’s open wound, and she kindly offered to take her to my veterinarian. That’s the kind of caring and attentive caregiver I look for, and I highly recommend her to anyone seeking a great caregiver.”

“Jackie was an excellent dogsitter for our dog Winnie! We had a meet and greet prior where she made us feel very comfortable leaving Winnie with her. She provided us with several pictures of Winnie and communicated a lot to let us know everything was going well. Winnie seemed to have a great stay. Thank you so much!!”

“Murphy, our almost 2 yo Frenchie, has the best time with Kaitlyn and her family! The pickup and drop off are so easy and the communication throughout is consistent. They make him part of their family - and that’s all we could ask for. We 100% recommend Kaitlyn!”

Jax was awesome! Hank is 1.5 years old, and this was our first time leaving him since having him. We were of course nervous leaving him. However Jax instantly put us at ease giving us tons of pictures and updates. He made lots of doggie friends, and was treated like a family member. We were able to enjoy our vacation guilt and worry free!!

Thank you Jax for another great staycation for our golden retriever, Meadow. Jax loves dogs and she takes care of Meadow like she’s part of her family. We love that we can go away for an extended time and never wonder if Meadow is in good hands. We know she is when she’s with Jax and her family. Thanks again guys!!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in PA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
