“Allison has been great! Super friendly and helpful when scheduling, and she has great availability. This is the second time she's taken our Aussie pup on a walk to help get some energy out. Love getting the pictures of her time with him and the note she leaves about their time together. Will definitely keep using Allison”

“Libby is a great sitter! She takes my dog on neighborhood walks or if time and weather permit, adventures to a nearby walking path. She's easy to communicate with and has made me feel at ease while I'm at work! Thanks, libby”

“Bethany did an amazing job with our dog Lily. She gave plenty of updates, pictures, and lots of care! She even went above and beyond and brought in some flowers for us and brought in our trash cans while we were away. We cannot thank you enough for your help this week! I would gladly trust Bethany again. 💖”

About: I've had cats my whole life! Recently I've fostered six cats (including some kittens) and foster failed my current cat, Goose. I'm studying for medical school exam and have some free time for extra cuddles. Growing up, I frequently cared for my family's two mini Schnauzer's and would love to take your dogs for walks too! I am currently studying for medical school board exams and have a flexible routine that has plenty of time to check in on your furry friends. Not all cats are created equal and I pride myself on being able to read your cat's body language to determine what they need from me. I have experience walking dogs in a busy city environment.

About: I’m currently studying to be a vet assistant. Since I was a kid I’ve loved animals and have accumulated lots of knowledge over the years. I’ve been trusted to care for many family pets. I’m very calm and patient, and I’m excited to have the opportunity to care for your pets as well! I’m currently working part-time, early mornings. Mid-week, afternoons and weekends are the best times for me to care for and play with your babies! I live in a very quiet home and a very quiet neighborhood. We can sit and relax while I knit or easily walk down to the nearby observatory, park, or town square.
“Corey is an excellent dog walker. My dog really enjoys being with him. He's assertive while also being gentle with my dog, which means he follows dog care instructions. He gives great updates about the walk. I'd strongly recommend Corey to my friends.”

About: I have taken care of both cats and dogs. I love taking dogs on walks, long or short, and multiple times a day if needed. Or even if they just need to be let out in the yard and have a little play time! I have grown up around cats and understand all the little quirks that come with them. I would be perfect if they need a hangout buddy for a little bit! I always know how to find the pets at any function I’m at! I am currently waiting to start a new job, so I have all the time in the world to go on walks throughout the day, let them out in the yard to play, or even just hangout with the fur baby inside. I have always cared for animals my whole life. I understand that a pet isn’t just a pet, they are family. You can trust me to look after and care for them as if they were my own fur baby.
About: I’ve always had a dog while growing up and have a true love for them! I may not have any pets of my own at the moment but I treat each dog as such. Since I’ve grown up around dogs my whole life I know the kind of love, attention and care they need and ensure to provide all of those traits for this I’m in the process of getting my real estate license so I’m currently working part time mostly at nights, which leaves my mornings and afternoons pretty available to check in/walk your dogs! My current place does not allow me to have pets, but from having my own dogs growing up I know the kind of care it takes to handle a dog in your own home! I would treat both your home and dogs with respect and give your dog the love you need for the time being
“Wolf was amazing! We booked last minute and had some changes in our itinerary, but was still very according. Romeo was so happy when he got back from his walk with Wolf. Will be booking again! Thank you!”

“Sara was fantastic! She was punctual and treated Millie with the upmost respect. Sara gave great updates throughout the walk and captured some stunning photos. I would highly recommend Sara for any of your pet needs!”

“Jillian is amazing with my pup! My pup loves her energy she brings, always makes the walks more fun whether going on his favorite routes or taking trips to coffee shops (where he gets treats). And I love the pictures I get to see the fun of the walks 😊 Jillian is very punctual and great at communicating any change of plans needed as an added bonus!”

“Christina has been great with our dog, he is scared of new people and she has done so much to make him comfortable and open up to her. Our dog loves his daily walks now”

“On short notice Stephanie was able to walk my dog (Megan) several days in a row. She was great with Megan & they bonded immediately. Stephanie was comfortable in caring for Megan.. Megan had so much fun walking with Stephanie that I have already scheduled several walking dates with Stephanie in September.”

About: Dog lover missing my childhood pets being away for college looking to be a helping hand! Ability to do drop ins, walks and potentially house sitting as well. Have watched/walked many from small to large and looking to help you when needed! I am also available drop ins if your dogs need a midday play session that I so desperately miss with my dogs. Have also worked with dogs with some health issues so can following a diligent schedule and comfortable administering medicine. Pretty flexible schedule so please reach out! I currently work evenings Friday-Monday so I have a fair amount of free time that I am willing to spend with your pets. My schedule is very open and flexible as a college student. Growing up I had three dogs full of energy. I spend lots of time playing with them and take them on two walks a day. I am very east to fall victim to those cute eyes so I always find myself giving them lots of attention.
About: I’ve grown up around a variety of pets, giving me years of experience caring for animals. While I don’t currently have any pets of my own, I’m always welcoming opportunities to walk, volunteer, care for, and spend time with the pets of friends, shelters, neighbors, and local families! I’m a teacher looking to spend some of my free time this summer walking and caring for pets in the community! My schedule is very flexible throughout June and July. I prioritize a welcoming environment by giving pets the time to adjust and feel comfortable in their surroundings. To establish trust, I put effort towards meeting each pet’s needs and your expectations.
“Breanna is the absolute best. She has been essential in potty/leash training our puppy (tough with our work schedules!) and is vigilant with consistency in training commands—so important for a little pup! Our fur baby could not love her more!”

About: Animals have always been a huge part of my life. With more than 30 years of experience caring for dogs and cats, I've been surrounded by pets since I was a child. In fact, my very first job was walking neighborhood dogs when I was in middle school—and my love for caring for animals has only grown since then. I've raised and trained my own dogs from puppyhood, giving me firsthand experience with house training, socialization, leash training, and the patience and consistency puppies need to thrive. My dogs are truly part of our family, and I care for every pet as if they were my own. I also have experience caring for senior pets who require daily medications, as well as rescue dogs who may need extra patience, understanding, and a calm approach due to anxiety or special feeding routines. I understand that every pet has their own personality, and I enjoy getting to know what makes each one feel safe, comfortable, and loved. Beyond dogs and cats, I've cared for many other animals over the years, including birds, fish, hamsters, turtles, frogs, lizards, and hermit crabs. I'm comfortable caring for a wide variety of pets and am always happy to learn about their individual needs. In my full-time career, I work in an elementary school, so I have summers off and additional some flexibility throughout the year (outside of carpooling to my kid’s sports 😉). That allows me to provide dependable, attentive care and plenty of time, love, and companionship for your furry (or feathered or scaly!) family members. My goal is to give you peace of mind, knowing your pets are safe, happy, and treated like family while you're away. My schedule is very flexible this summer! Since I work at an elementary school during the school year, I have the summer months off and am available throughout the day to care for your pets. Aside from occasionally carpooling my son to camp/sports, my schedule is wide open, allowing me to accommodate a variety of pet care needs. Whether your pet needs drop-in visits, walks, companionship, or a consistent routine while you're away, I'm happy to work with your schedule to provide dependable, attentive care. Your pet's safety, comfort, and happiness are always my top priorities. I prefer caring for dogs in their own home whenever possible, where they can remain in a familiar, comfortable environment and maintain their normal routine. I understand that changes can be stressful for some pets, and I strive to make your time away as calm and worry-free as possible. My schedule is flexible, and I'm happy to work around your dog's individual needs, including feeding schedules, medications, exercise routines, and favorite activities. I also welcome the opportunity to schedule a meet-and-greet beforehand so your pet can get to know me and you can feel completely confident that they'll be in caring, capable hands.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Columbia
What a wonderful fresh start in a new city after a long drive with a very confused and anxious pup in a new home. Devynne was patient and kind, knowledgeable and a true professional. She understood that our 7-year old dog was nervous and she gently introduced herself and proceeded to take charge in a loving and controlled manner. After the first three days, Zoey (our pup) was a different girl and starting to feel at home. Thank you Devynne for the puppy love and gentle touch: routine and safety, feeling secure and seen are key to transitions and you did that for Zoey! Amazing!

Dan is awesome! My GSD grew to love him really quickly. He handles her on walks with no problem and always makes sure she gets plenty of attention and exercise. He’s also very responsive and does his best to fit us into his schedule. The detailed Rover cards he sends after each walk are a great bonus too! 🐾

Spencer has been the best. He’s walked my border collie 3x/week the past few months and it’s been a breeze. He’s super consistent and always ensures Milo goes on a solid walk. He shares updates and photos each day that make me feel comfortable knowing Milo is in good care while I’m at work. Highly recommend.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
