About: I recently graduated with a PhD from George Mason University, so I'm highly organized and detail-oriented. I love animals of all shapes and sizes, and pet sitting provides much-needed joy and balance to my sedentary work at a computer. I work remotely with flexible hours, so I am able to accommodate specific feeding times, frequent check-ins, and potty breaks. As a proud cat owner, I'm very observant and knowledgeable about cat behavior and body language. I provide calm and gentle care that helps even the most timid cats feel secure and safe in their own space. I am skilled with trimming nails and brushing, and am happy to provide those services upon request, depending on your cat's tolerance. I also have several years of experience managing overnight house sits and walking dogs of all sizes and temperaments, including Greyhounds, Pit Bulls, and Australian Shepherds. I am able to care for and manage a wide range of dog energy levels. Whether your dog is high-energy and needs a brisk walk or is an elderly senior who requires a slow, gentle pace and careful supervision, I’ve got them covered. I'm currently working a fully remote, part-time job so my schedule is very flexible. I am able to offer drop-in visits any day of the week, any time of day between 8am and 8pm. I offer overnight visits for up to 3 consecutive nights. Home visits and overnights: I double-check that all doors are securely locked after every visit, bring in mail, and ensure your home was well-maintained during my stay. Leash Safety & Walking: On walks, safety is non-negotiable. I use a secure grip, stay highly observant of our surroundings, and never allow interaction with unknown dogs or people on the street unless you give me permission. Whether handling a strong, high-energy breed, or a sensitive, anxious dog, I maintain total focus and connection with your dog. Cat Care: For drop-ins, I make sure to provide for all your cat's needs including changing water, feeding, scooping litter, and playtime, grooming, and cuddles as requested. I also take time to read your cat's body language—if they want play and interaction, I'm fully present; if they prefer a calm presence from a distance, I respect their boundaries. I'm experienced with brushing and cleaning ears, so I am happy to offer that upon request, depending on your cat's temperament and needs. Updates: You will receive detailed updates and photos during every visit and at regular intervals during overnight stays.

About: I’ve been around dogs and cats my entire life and have always had a deep love for animals! One of my favorite things about pet sitting for my neighborhood growing up was getting to know each pet’s unique personality and what makes them special. I’m a dependable, caring, and communicative pet sitter who understands how important it is to leave your pet with someone you can trust. I’ll keep you updated with photos, messages, and timely communication, so you can see how much fun we’re having! Whether your dog loves long adventures or quick neighborhood walks, I’m happy to match their energy. I also enjoy playtime and giving plenty of attention and affection. After a fun day/walk together, they’ll be ready for a well earned pup nap! I work from home 3 days a week and am flexible on timing, so seeing your pup throughout the day or for a lunchtime walk is no problem at all! I am almost always local on the weekends as well. I focus on keeping your dog’s routine as consistent and comfortable as possible! I know pets feel most at ease in familiar surroundings, so I’ll follow your instructions closely regarding feeding schedules, walks, medications (if needed), playtime, and any specific preferences your pet may have. I’ll treat your home with the same respect and care that I would my own, while making sure your pet receives plenty of attention, exercise, and affection. I’ll also provide regular updates, photos, and communication so you can feel confident knowing your pet is happy and well cared for while you’re away.

About: I’m a caring and responsible pet owner with over 2 years of hands-on experience taking care of my own cats every day. I understand the importance of keeping pets on their normal routines, providing fresh food and water, cleaning litter boxes, giving plenty of playtime, and paying close attention to their behavior and health. I have also helped friends care for their pets while they were away. I know that every pet has a different personality, so I’m patient with shy or anxious animals and happy to give energetic pets the attention and exercise they need. I’ll always treat your pets like they’re my own and keep you updated with photos and messages while you’re away. I currently have a very flexible schedule and am available every day of the week, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays. I can provide pet care at any time of the day and accommodate different schedules, whether you need morning, afternoon, evening, or overnight care. I’ll do my best to work around your pet’s routine and your schedule. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I carefully follow your care instructions, including feeding schedules, medications (if needed), exercise routines, and any special requirements. I take time to build trust with every pet and always provide photo and message updates so you know your pet is safe and happy while you’re away.
“hillary did a great job with my three kitties! :) she also went above and beyond and helped me out with my litter robot that was having problems. would definitely trust her and book her in the future!”
“Lydia was terrific. Last-minute, I needed someone to watch my cat while my movers were working, which can be stressful for an animal, and for four hours she watched him and sought to keep him calm, all while maintaining a great attitude.”

“Samantha took such good care of my babies while I was away on a trip. She is playful, caring, and truly attentive. She sent us pictures every day and communicated everything in great detail. When one of my dogs started showing signs of ear irritation, she noticed it right away and acted quickly her judgment made us feel completely at ease. We have three dogs, and she did an amazing job with all of them. Highly recommend her!”

“Sarah was wonderful with the cats. They got along with her really well and she was very thorough in giving us updates and photos. I will definitely be asking her to cat sit again in the future!”

“Catherine went above and beyond for our drop-in visits! I was so happy to leave George in good hands, with great walks and playdates with her dog Winston! Thank you so much for everything you do!!”

About: Hello! I’m an experienced pet sitter with over 10 years of caring for dogs, cats, horses, and more. I’ve worked with pets of all sizes, ages, and personalities, including those with special needs, behavioral challenges, medication schedules, and strict routines. I also have experience with a number of different large, high-drive working dog breeds. No matter your pet’s situation, I will always tailor my care to meet their unique needs and routine. I work remotely with a flexible schedule, so I can easily accommodate walks, drop-in visits, overnight stays, multiple daily medications, and often same day bookings. If your pet stays with me, they’ll relax in a quiet townhouse surrounded by green space, parks, and the Potomac Heritage Trail. Clear communication is important to me. I send daily updates with photos (more if requested!). I started pet sitting because spending time with animals brings me so much joy and keeps me grounded. I’m also currently using Rover to help save for my first home! Every booking brings me one step closer, so thank you for considering me. I work remotely, which gives me a lot of flexibility during the day. That means I can easily fit in walks, drop-in visits, or medication doses at whatever times your pet needs — not just early mornings or evenings like a traditional 9-5 schedule would allow. For overnight or extended stays, your pet becomes part of my daily routine: walks, playtime, feeding, and downtime together, all built around their normal schedule rather than mine. Because I'm home and flexible most days, I'm also often able to accommodate same-day or last-minute requests. In your home (walks, drop-in visits, house sitting): I follow your pet's normal routine as closely as possible — same feeding times, walk schedule, medications, and any specific instructions you provide. Before the first visit, I like to go over care details, emergency contacts, and any quirks or triggers your pet has so there are no surprises. I treat your home with the same care and respect I'd want for my own — doors and gates secured, lights/alarms handled as instructed, and everything left the way I found it. In my home (overnight stays/boarding): Your pet will stay in my quiet townhouse, which has easy access to green space, parks, and the Potomac Heritage Trail for walks and outdoor time. I keep a calm, structured environment — sticking to your pet's normal routine for feeding, medication, and exercise rather than switching things up. If your pet has special needs, behavioral considerations, or specific safety requirements (e.g., separation from other animals on walks, allergies, etc.), I follow those precisely. My home is always completely dog and cat proof since I regularly have clients in, so you can feel confident your pet is safe and comfortable. Across all services: I send daily photo updates so you always know how your pet is doing, and I'm reachable if anything comes up. Your pet's safety and comfort always come first — I'd rather ask a clarifying question than guess.
About: I have owned pets for the last 15 years, both cats and dogs. I am available any day, any time for walks or drop-in visits! I am comfortable walking aggressive dogs. I absolutely love animals, and will provide the best care for your pets! I am available any day, any time - my schedule is open to drop in or go for a walk anytime you need, even multiple times per day! I will honor whatever advice or instructions provided, and I am comfortable/experienced in dealing with shy or aggressive pets. First and foremost, safety is important. I will always take the utmost care in making sure your pets are responsibly cared for and I will never put them in a risky or dangerous situation.
“Brenna was great! My cat adored her and she asked thoughtful questions to make sure he had the best care. She also sent great updates, would definitely book again!”

“Tiffanie provided excellent care to my cat, and even offered additional flexibility when it looked like my return date was going to be delayed. Tiffanie also provided detailed information on how my cat was doing each day, and it’s clear my cat warmed up to her fast.”

About: Updated November 2022: I have recently moved to North Arlington. I previously had the luxury of having pups board at my house, but unfortunately I don’t have that ability here in Arlington. So now I’m hoping to care for pups in the comfort of their own homes! I have a small Frenchie I’d love to bring along, but can also leave her behind if needed! I’m currently working in the office Mondays & Tuesday, but work at home the rest of the week! Original Profile Details: Hello! My name is Matt! I have worked as the Assistant General Manager at Dogtopia Alexandria for 2 years. We were voted #1 store in North America in 2016 and 2017! I have tons of experience with all types of breeds and personalities, from outgoing, high energy pups to the more reserved and anxious pups. I will provide them with the exercise, care, support and love they need while their Pack Leaders are out of town! I currently have a sweet French Bulldog that will become your pups best friend! Growing up I had two German Shepherds and a Sheltie. I love dogs and am a big believer in “It’s a dog’s world, we just live in it.” I am currently working from home Wednesday through Fridays - so your pup will get a walk first thing in the morning, just after lunch and later in the evening at a minimum. If it’s a Monday or Tuesday, your pup will get an early morning walk, early afternoon then an evening walk at a minimum. I would require a meet and greet ahead of any booking. While out of town I will provide daily updates and as many pictures as I can!

“Megan took great care of my senior cat, Betty White! My request was super last minute and Megan was a lifesaver. She was super communicative and was able to do my cats medication as well. Will definitely use her again!”

About: Hi, I'm Emma! I grew up with animals my whole life! From cats, to dogs, to hamsters, to fish, to horses, I've cared for and loved them all! I spent the past two years in Beijing, China and just moved back to Arlington, VA with my husband. We live in a one-bedroom apartment with an elevator. Our apartment is very dog friendly. I worked on Rover in 2019 and then took a break for grad school and to care for my own dog, Funny Bunny. Now I am in Arlington for a few months and looking to take care of some pups in my free time! I would love to be a part of your dog's life! Growing up, I had three dogs, one cat, and a few horses of my own. I love all four-legged friends dearly and have lots of love to give. I officially started dog/house-sitting about 7 years ago, but have been working with animals for about 12 years now. The longest I have dog-sat for is 20 days, while the family was on a trip to Europe. While you're away, I will strive to keep both you and your pet(s) at ease. I'll do everything I can to ensure their safety, comfort, and happiness. Whatever your furry-family-member needs, I will be there! I’m currently working part time in Arlington and get home around 2pm. This gives me plenty of time to give your dogs attention and care! I live in a small one bedroom dog friendly apartment. I can easily care for your dog and make sure they get plenty of exercise.
“Caroline was very professional and was able to take care of our puppy the same day we requested her help. Our puppy is still working on crate training and seemed quite pleased with her as he didn’t make a mess in his crate when we got home. We will definitely hire Caroline in the future.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Colonial Village
Alexis did a fabulous job watching our cat for 2.5 weeks while we were traveling. She dropped in every day, fed and watered him, cleaned up multiple unexpected throw-ups, and really went above and beyond in her communication. It was such a comfort to have her there each day and to see the daily photos she sent. We’d absolutely recommend her to anyone.

Michelle was an excellent cat-sitter for my two boys while I was gone for a week. I appreciated her attention to detail, responsiveness and proactiveness (e.g., cleaning up a hairball situation without being asked, etc!). She was very easy to communicate with and I would definitely recommend her services!!

Amanda was incredible!!! We completely forgot to send over the pet care instructions and were unable to communicate due to not having service and she still did literally every single thing that we told her about at the meet and greet. She was kind and attentive and the animals all loved her!
Tess was such a lifesaver for us for a last minute trip. She was able to handle our old girls needs with ease and made her feel so comfortable. Our dog is particular with people which always makes leaving her a bit nerve wracking, but after the first day with Tess, our minds were calm. She was very communicative and responsive. I would recommend Tess to anyone.
