“Beth was amazing with my cat, Ellie! She was attentive to her needs, played with her, sent cute pictures while I was away, and made sure Ellie was fed and happy. Beth is a very kind lady and my cat loved her!”

“Hans would get six stars if it would let me! My two cats are always in the best spirits after Hans has looked after them, proof that he does an amazing job ☺️”

“Tessa was all we had hoped for to our 16 year old dog. He loved her from the start and she was intuitive and patient with him and his various older dog issues. She’s really easy to plan with and we hope she will help take care of him when we can’t for the rest of his life.”

“I adopted Lucy (4 year old Great Dane) in June 2025. I was hesitant to ask a Rover to look after such a big dog, but Dustin immediately assured me that he was familiar with large breeds. Our first meet-and-greet went amazingly! She took to him instantly and he went out of his way to make sure she knew she could trust him. I booked him over Thanksgiving and Christmas because I had to travel. I couldn’t be more thankful for him making himself available to help me out. He showed up reliably (despite celebrating his own holidays) and has been accommodating to my chaotic requests. A true saint and dog lover.”

“Georgia is great! Georgia was very communicative and so detailed in the updates. I appreciated how Georgia really tried to get to know my cat and give me the most descriptive updates. I arrived with my cat’s food and water bowls full and a clean litter box. Thanks again Georgia!”

“This was my first time hiring Karli as a drop in sitter for my cat, and I was incredibly impressed. She was very thorough at the meet and greet, and was extremely professional and communicative throughout the booking. She always wrote detailed updates on how my cat was doing for each Rover card, and she genuinely left my house spotless. I would absolutely trust Karli with my cat and home and would book her again.”

“Jackie was kind, and my cats took to her almost immediately. One of my cats is shy, and I was surprised by how quickly she could help her come out of her shell. Jackie kept the place clean, and her daily updates with photos helped us rest easy knowing that our babies were in good hands. I will definitely book her again on our next trip!”

“My second time using Debbie and I highly recommend her. I trust her with my dog and her detailed visit reports and pictures put my mind at ease when I'm gone that my dog is in good hands.”

“Christina is amazing!: took great care of the cats, communicated well with me re: any issues or problems, and helped with an ant problem. I highly recommend Christina.”

“Natalie took excellent care of our dog, Junie! We adopted Junie just a few weeks ago so we are still getting her comfortable and trained, and Natalie did an excellent job being patient with her, going at her own pace and keeping up with the routine we are setting. It’s always difficult to go on a trip and leave our dogs, so I’m extra grateful for all the pictures sent, updates and love given to our dog!!! Would recommend and will book again!”

About: ✨Rates are locked in for first time bookings! ✨ My husband and I just bought a house a month ago! So I am finally able to do a long time desire of mine and be a dog sitter/walker. We are just getting started, so in an effort to keep my prices competitive and affordable, anyone who books with me within my first 3 months will be getting locked in rates - Meaning if my prices change, they will always be the same for you as when I first started! I’ve been caring for family dogs for as long as I can remember, and I’ve gained hands-on experience with dogs of all ages and personalities over the years. My first dog of my own is my current little senior Chihuahua. She is a rescue doggie, who I adopted when she was already 3 years old in 2012 - She is now 16 years old! Through caring for her into her senior years, I’ve learned a lot about patience, routines, and understanding individual dog needs. Now that I’m married, we also have a 6-month-old Shiba puppy, and we’ve raised other dogs in the past as well. Because of that, I’m familiar with training basics, potty training, and crate training. I also have experience safely managing unneutered dogs and keeping them separated when needed. Overall, I’m comfortable with both young, energetic pups and older dogs who need a gentler touch, and I treat every dog like part of the family. I work from home so pet care very easily fits into my daily routine and I’m very flexible with being the able to meet each dog’s individual needs! I provide a safe, fun, and comfortable environment for every dog in my care. My home has a fully fenced yard and a garage designed for playtime, giving dogs plenty of space to run, explore, and socialize. I have two friendly dogs of my own who love to play and provide companionship for boarded pets. For dogs who prefer some quiet time or need it for safety, I can crate dogs as needed. Every dog in my care is supervised, and I focus on creating a trusting, stress-free environment where pets feel like part of the family.
“Ana was awesome! She was really positive and asked a bunch of questions to make sure she knew everything she needed to know to take care of our XL puppy. She was super flexible and willing to work with us and kept us well-updated while we were away. We'll definitely reach out to her again the next time we have to travel!”

“Michelle was an incredible sitter for my Moo! She’s super personable and kind. She’s very attentive to my pets needs and makes sure he gets a ton of play time in :) she also didn’t hesitate to clean up his mess when he wasn’t feeling well! Definitely very loving with animals and will continue to use her as a pet sitter!”

About: I grew up with dogs and cats, so pet care is second nature! I've been walking, feeding, and loving on furry friends since for the last 15 years. I'm also great at giving meds (even the sneaky ones!) and making pets feel comfy and cared for. I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals and always aim to make them feel safe, happy, and loved. Your pets will be in caring, capable hands. Working remotely gives me a flexible schedule, so I can easily visit pets during lunch breaks or before and after work to give them care and attention. I always prioritize each pet’s safety by following all care instructions closely, from feeding routines to medication and walk guidelines. I double-check doors, gates, and leashes, and never leave pets unattended in unsafe situations. I also keep emergency contacts and vet info handy, so I’m fully prepared. Your pet’s well-being is my top priority!
About: Looking to keep your furry friend content and secure while you live your best life! Experienced in puppy and elder animal care, very active and love long walks and hiking as much as a couch potato 🥰 I work full time and looking to supplement my income by doing what I love - spending time with animals! I work remote 3x a week and available mornings/evenings and weekends for drop-in’s and overnights. I have a fenced yard and can set up a crate or play pen as needed. I adopted an 8 week old puppy last December, and she would love to keep your fur baby company when in my care. I have recent experience raising a super young puppy and we have been diligent in training. We assist at puppy training with the younger dogs and mentor them. I am happy to learn your dog’s training routine and incorporate it into the care. I believe the golden rule applies to dogs as well as people - treat your animals the way you want to be treated! This means, lots of snuggles and encouragement, routine feeding, long walks AND adventures, and plenty of stimulation. Im happy to welcome your pup to my space, or come to them to ensure comfort and familiarity.
About: I’ve been caring for others’ pets for many years, though I’m new to Rover. The physical and emotional well‑being of dogs and cats is something truly important to me, and I bring that passion into every visit. I also volunteer with a local shelter, where I’ve gained even more hands‑on experience supporting cats of all personalities and needs. I’m a creative person at heart—you might even find me turning a simple cardboard box into a surprise cat craft for your fur baby. At mealtime, I don’t just scoop food into a bowl; I create a calm, pleasant dining experience that helps pets feel secure and cared for. When I’m spending time with your pet, they receive my full, undivided attention. During a standard drop‑in visit, we’ll enjoy interactive play, enrichment, and plenty of affection tailored to their preferences. I’ll make sure they have fresh water, a tidy litter box, and a nutritious meal. I love all animals and have hands on experience caring for both dogs and cats. However, cats have a special place in my heart. In my household, we have two feline fur babies whom we absolutely adore. Your pet’s comfort, happiness, and safety come first, always. I work full‑time Monday through Friday, and I can reliably schedule drop‑in visits before work, after work, and during my lunch hour. On weekends, my schedule is much more flexible, and I can generally offer visits throughout the day as needed. At this time the drop-in care I provide will be at the pet's home. I offer a drop-in service to check in on your cat or dog. I am able to feed them, spend interactive time with them, clean their litter box, etc. I am comfortable administering oral or topical medication. Should you need me to check on basic home safety, such as making sure blinds are either drawn or opened or mail and packages brought in, please let me know. A drop-in visit is 30-minutes in length. Add-on time is available.
“Fantastic service! First time using Rover. Mel stood out from the rest . Glad I chose her. Very happy client and came home to an even happier kitty. Thanks Mel - Your purr-fect.”

Colonial Heights pet parents share their Rover experiences
Beth is fantastic! She was great with catering to our dog's specific needs, was very prompt and responsive, and sent lots of cute photos while we were away. Our pup just adores her. I will absolutely book with Beth again, and would recommend her to anyone needing care for their pups.

Copeland is absolutely amazing!! This was my first experience with Rover and I will return purely because of Copeland. My usual sitter had an emergency before my international trip so I only had a couple of days to find a new sitter. Copeland was incredibly responsive and able to set up a meet and greet the next day. She was an angel from start to finish. Not only was this my first time using Rover but it was also the longest span of time I was away from my fur babies. Needless to say, I had lots of anxiety that Copeland immediately put to ease. There were ebbs and flows that Copeland kept me in the loop every step of the way and handled with such grace and care. My babies range from a small aloof cat to a large rowdy dog. There wasn’t a millisecond that I had concerns that any of my pets weren’t being handled with the utmost of care and love. Book with Copeland - you and your babies will not regret it. <3

This was my first time using Rover and so far Alice has been amazing! I was very nervous to invite someone into mine and my pup Kylo’s home that we didn’t already have an established relationship with, but Alice made us feel so comfortable. She answered ALL of my questions, addressed my concerns, and was courteous enough to come for a meet and greet prior to drop in visits. We had our first drop in visit and Kylo seemed to be at ease with her and looked so happy in his pictures! I am planning to book again for multiple services. Thank you Alice!

Natalie is the absolute best pet sitter a parent could ask for!! We had a trip during the holidays (12/26-1/4) and asked her to come do daily visits from 12/27-1/3 for our two 8mo kittens. She went above and beyond during her stay. Of course she always feeds them exactly to our instructions and even sends photos of their meals. She also cleans their automatic feeders, dishes, water fountain, and even their litter robot! She also took out the trash from their litter robot and gave it a full wipe down multiple times. On one of the first days of her visits, one of the cats had a #2 accident on the litter rug right outside of the litter box. Natalie cleaned that up for us and told us not to feel bad at all and reassured us that this stuff happens, which really meant so much to us! Not only that, but she went so far as to vacuum and tidy up during her last stay! She is incredibly attentive to any pet/house chores and does so much more than you’d expect from a pet sitter. I think that the most incredible aspect of her care is how she interacts with the cats. Our girls love human interaction and affection, but one of them is very shy with new people. She runs into the cabinet, under the bed, anything to get away from new people in the apartment. During Natalie’s first visits, that’s exactly what she did. But by the end of her visits she was napping with her on the couch and even letting her pet her!! Natalie is the only person in the world other than us who she allows to pet her, it makes me so happy! She put a lot of effort into making her comfortable and letting her go at her own pace and it really paid off. She also takes time each visit to play with them, give them treats, pet them, sit with them on the couch, etc. You can tell the girls love her a lot from all of the pictures she sends during her visits! The one who is less shy lays on her, purrs when they’re sitting together, naps with her. Even our shy girl sits with her on the couch and naps with her. They both make biscuits with her too!! When we came back home, the girls seemed so happy and healthy! She also gives incredibly detailed updates after each visit with a ton of photos! We received 40-70 photos for each visit along with her super thorough updates. This was our second service with Natalie and we would never want to use another sitter for our precious kitties. You can tell she really loves and values all the pets and parents she sits for, even in the way she talks to us about her job, she just loves it and it really shows in how she does her work. If you need a pet sitter for daily visits, house stays, literally anything, Natalie is 100% your perfect sitter. If you are deciding between her and another sitter, she’s your pick! You will come home to happy, well taken care of pets!

Well, I can't say Moose & Squirrel LOVED Avina, they're cats and therefore a little bit weird. I could tell from her photos, though they were realizing Not Me (aka Avina) was giving them canned cat food every day and not scary Stranger Danger. I came home to 2 happy and healthy kitties 😸 😸 and that is the goal! Avina also brought in mail and packages for me, much appreciated!
