“Cal is INCREDIBLE! Our dog is very anxious and he immediately understood her and provided her with such warmth and support. We trust him and he is great with dogs. Also, great with communication and sends us the cutest pictures of our girl having a good time! We are so grateful”

“Paul was great. My dog is anxious around new people, especially men, and Paul was patient with her and helped her get comfortable. He also took her on long walks which she needs because she has a lot of energy so I appreciated how tired she was when we got home.”

About: I’ve owned a dog for over 6 years and have been accustomed with my neighborhood dogs actively in my community. Ever since I was a kid, I would make it my priority to know all the dogs in my neighborhood and their owners, as I’m very comfortable with pets of any kind. I work sparsely in weekends, but besides that, I’m free on weekdays at any time. My schedule is very flexible and can easily be accommodated. I have two gates and backyard with fences to prevent dogs from leaving. I also have cameras surrounding my house and my doors stay locked at all time. Nothing is left loosely in my house and is well kept.
About: I'm excited to have your furry friend over and will give them all the TLC they deserve while sticking to their regular schedules. I've been obsessed with dogs since I was a kid and have taken care of our family dog, Lucky, since he was a puppy up until he passed away due to old age at 17 years. I now have a 6 year old Shiba Inu, Sumi, and a 10 year old cat, Ellie. Sumi was a rescue mill mama and was extremely fearful. With patience and love, she's finally come out of her shell. I've managed to teach both the dog and the cat tricks and work on training with them daily. I have a very flexible schedule at the moment and am home most of the day. I'll stick to whatever schedule your pet is used to so there won't be any confusion when they return to you. Our neighborhood is pretty large and also has a walking trail, so walks can be as short or long as you'd like. There's a dog friendly space downstairs with plenty of room to run around and play with toys, or if they prefer to chill, there's plenty of pet beds and blankets in the living room. I have a very chill and friendly Shiba Inu and Husky/Shepherd mix at home that can keep your dog company. I do have a cat that has their own room and can be separated if your dog doesn't get along with cats. I also have a large crate and two pens available if that's something you're used to doing. Baby gates are set up between each floor, but are usually left open for my dog. There are cameras on each floor so that I can keep an eye on the pets if I'm leaving the home or on a different floor.

“Will definitely use Sharon again. Rex had a good time. She sent pics of Rex chilling and playing and having a good time and she was very accommodating of my schedule. I'm grateful for her ?”

“Abigail was very responsive and available at the last minute! Totally worth it !! Abigail is so friendly, and while my dog has anxiety, she knows how to handle him. Her updates and pictures are great, i text her to apologize that i was running late and she say no plm at all .she asked my permission to feed him for dinner and pic of the food she gave him . I am grateful that she do care for my skipo. As dog sitter i am definitley keep her ..”

“Ashley was great with my puppy! She made me feel very confident leaving my dog with her for daycare! You can tell she loves dogs! She has a great backyard! My dog was happy when I picked her up!”

“My dog, Rosie was in good hands with Kelly and her husband. I felt less stressed knowing they took every effort to make her comfortable. Kelly sent me endless updates and pictures of Rosie's stay . This was important to me because this was my first overnight booking with her. Thanks, Kelly. We will be back soon!”

About: What Sets Me Apart I offer more than just a standard check-in or walk—I bring a lifetime of genuine animal love combined with specialized, hands-on experience to ensure your pets are safe, happy, and completely understood. Here is what makes my care unique: Senior & Special Needs Expertise: I have a deep understanding of senior pet care. Whether it’s managing medication schedules, recognizing subtle signs of discomfort, or just providing the extra patience and gentle pacing that older pets deserve, your senior companions are in incredibly safe hands. Puppy Training & Energy Management: Navigating the puppy phase requires consistent structure. I love working with young dogs to reinforce basic training, maintain potty routines, and channel all that amazing puppy energy into positive, healthy habits. Multi-Pet & Diverse Species Experience: My home is a sanctuary for all kinds of animals. From handling high-energy dogs and independent cats to caring for unique exotic pets like geckos, I understand the distinct body language and routine requirements of a truly diverse range of species. When your pets are with me, they aren't just being watched—they are being treated with the same deep respect, attentiveness, and family-level care that I give to my own. Pet care isn't just a side task for me—it’s seamlessly woven into the fabric of my daily and weekly structure. Because my routine centers around a flexible, home-based schedule, I am able to provide the consistent, attentive, and highly reliable care that pets thrive on. Here is how I integrate dedicated pet care into my routine: A Natural Part of My Day: Managing a busy, active household means I am already completely dialed into strict daily routines. Feeding schedules, fresh water refills, and multiple potty breaks are second nature to me and easily sync with your pet's specific internal clock. Built-in Movement and Fresh Air: I value keeping active and getting outside. Daily walks and high-energy playtime aren't chores—they are highlights of my schedule that allow me to give your dog the exercise, mental stimulation, and neighborhood exploration they need. Meticulous Environmental Care: Just as I maintain high standards for my own surroundings, keeping a spotless pet environment is part of my regular weekly rhythm. Daily litter box scooping, deep-cleaning food bowls, and organizing pet areas are deeply embedded in my normal cleaning habits. Evenings and Weekends for Quality Time: When the daytime rush winds down, my evenings and weekends are dedicated to winding down, too. This is when I love providing the quiet companionship, gentle grooming, and couch cuddles that keep pets feeling safe, loved, and part of the family while you're away. Because my life is set up to balance multiple priorities smoothly, your pet receives structured, dependable care without me ever having to rush their routine. Care in My Home (Boarding & Daycare) When pets stay with me, they aren't kept in isolation—they become part of a structured, lively, and highly attentive household. Seamless Integration: I run my daily business from home, which means your pet enjoys constant human presence and supervision. They are integrated right into our daily rhythm of work, play, and relaxation. A Sanctuary for All Personalities: My home is designed to accommodate different comfort levels. If your dog loves a pack environment, they will have plenty of company. If they prefer a quiet corner to decompress, I have dedicated, cozy spaces where they can rest undisturbed. A Safe, Social Environment: With experienced resident pets of my own, I am highly skilled at managing animal dynamics. Introductions are always handled slowly and safely, ensuring everyone feels secure and respected in the space. Care in Your Home (House Sitting & Drop-Ins) If your pet prefers the comfort of their own walls, my priority is maintaining absolute consistency, security, and cleanliness while you are away. Flawless Routine Replication: I follow your specific instructions to the letter. Whether it’s feeding at an exact timestamp, following a precise walking route, or administering medication, I ensure your pet's internal clock and habits aren't disrupted. Respecting Your Space: I treat your home with the utmost respect. In addition to keeping your pets happy, I ensure their environment stays pristine—handling meticulous litter box maintenance, keeping feeding areas spotless, and making sure everything looks exactly how you left it. Security and Peace of Mind: You will receive regular updates, photos, and quick communication so you never have to wonder how things are going. I also keep a vigilant eye on the security of your home, ensuring doors are locked, mail is brought in if requested, and the property is secure.

Taake loves Neesa most importantly!”

“Maria was so great with our rescue pup! We were nervous to leave our pup with a new sitter but she kept us up to date all day. Maris was a strong communicator and very thoughtful. Would recommend her if you need a dog sitter who really cares about dogs and cats and their well being!”

About: You name it, I probably have lovingly done it. From medical care, giving shots, playing, training, elder pet care, cleaning ears, wiping paws, giving baths, walking and playing with super high energy pets, etc., I can handle it. I specialize in anxious dogs. I get that there is a formula for making them feel safe and I can follow it to a T, plus I have a lot of tools and tricks. I also specialize in elder care of pets. Beyond medical needs which I am comfortable doing, I also have tons of ways of engaging elders pets that can no longer play nor walk like they used. I am loving, lead with empathy, and NEVER strike nor yell at a pet. That should go without saying, but I like to be very clear. I can assert leadership for pets that need it. I can handle any size pet and I get that each pet has their own needs, so don't worry if your dog has a long list of things they cannot do or a list of needs. I get it! I am currently working part time from home and my breaks and hours are flexible, so I am always available. Very occasionally I work outside the home for no more than 5 hours at a time. I care for pets in my home and at their home as well. I have a big back yard that is fenced in on all sides. I go outside with the pets most of the time and engage and play with them. I don't just let them out. There are 2 people parks near my home (one well shaded and great for hot summer days) that are great for walking to. I find dogs like to people watching too. I think giving pups time to sniffy snoop around is important. I even have a backpack with a mesh screen "window" for a cat as some cats love walks. In your home, I follow their routine to give them a sense of security, play, train, and introduce new toys and tricks if your pup is up for that. With cats I can read their cute little faces pretty well and give them what they want: play, pets, scratches, and/or, for example, introduce them to new smells to engage their minds.

About: I genuinely love dogs and enjoy adapting to each dog’s personality and needs. I’m a very active person who loves being outdoors, so I’m always happy to go on long walks, play, and keep energetic dogs engaged. At the same time, I’m patient and calm, which helps dogs feel comfortable and relaxed. Whether your dog wants an adventure or just a companion to hang out with, I’m happy to be exactly what they need. As a recent college grad, I currently have a very flexible schedule, and I am taking some time during the summer before starting the next chapter of my career pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because I enjoy spending time with animals and being outdoors whether it’s going for walks playing or simply keeping a pet company care for animals is something I find rewarding and look forward to. When caring for pets, I like to follow the routine they are already used to so they feel safe and comfortable. I thrive with structure, so I appreciate clear instructions for feeding, walks, playtime, medications for feeding, or any special needs. Whether I’m caring for a pet in my home or in their home, my goal is to be present, attentive, and give them the care they need.
“I left my puppy Law for Day Care with Erika and Franklin. They took great care of law from sun up til sun down. They were able follow instructions to a T, responded quickly, asked questions and provided photos throughout the day as requested. Definitely would recommend!”

Noor was excellent! She accommodated us on super short notice when we were scrambling to find a sitter for our dog. Meeko (aforementioned dog) enjoyed herself very much and we received plenty of updates with pictures. So happy that we made this connection! Would absolutely work with Noor again.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
