About: I have taken care of multiple animals throughout my life, mainly elder neighbors who cannot fully take care of their animals because of scheduling conflicts. I prefer overnight visits and stays just to ensure no schedules are disrupted. I currently attend UVA full-time as a Master's Student, and work Saturday nights at a restaurant in Cville. But I always make time for the animals in my life! I have a fenced-in yard, I walk dogs either for short 15/20 minutes, or a longer (5 miles) depending on a breed's needs and requirements. Otherwise, we can lounge and play with toys together.

About: I have not used Rover before (have an older profile from when I originally looked into it but did end up using) but am an extremely experience pet sitter who is happy to share more recent evidence and testimonials. I grew up with a dog and cat and have done pet and house care since high school. I have also worked in various jobs caring for dogs, cats, birds, and fish. I am quite flexible with scheduling, especially if you book my services with plenty of advance warning. I am happy to help with pet care, property maintenance, mail collection, and other needs you may have. I also had a French bulldog raised from a puppy as an adult. In recent years I have learned love cats through my wife, and we now have 4 lovely adult indoor cats who we rescued all as kittens. I work from home 9-5 Monday through Friday. I can be flexible for mid-day visits, although mornings and afternoons/evenings are more reliable. I am generally available at all times of day on weekends. I have my own transportation and I’m happy to accommodate your needs. I’ve worked with puppies, seniors, and dogs with special needs, and I’m comfortable following detailed feeding routines, giving oral medications, and caring for anxious or reactive dogs. Since I have a reactive dog of my own, I understand the importance of reading body language, respecting boundaries, and helping dogs feel safe instead of overwhelmed. Most mornings start with several miles on the trail or around the neighborhood with my own dogs, so active dogs who enjoy getting outside fit naturally into my routine. At the same time, I’m just as happy taking things slow with a senior dog who would rather wander, sniff, and enjoy a quiet walk. Most mornings you’ll find me outside before the heat sets in. I walk my own dogs every day, spend a lot of time hiking local trails, and genuinely enjoy being outdoors. Adding another walk or checking in on someone else’s pet doesn’t feel like work to me. It’s just part of a life I already love. I’m pretty low-key by nature, so I don’t rush through visits or watch the clock. If your dog wants to sniff every blade of grass, we’ll sniff. If your cat would rather sit quietly while I read a book than play, that’s okay too. I believe every animal has its own personality, and I try to meet them where they are instead of expecting them to fit into my routine. My goal is simple: when you come home, your pet has been well cared for, and you don’t have to wonder if they were just another stop on someone’s schedule. Whether I’m caring for your pet in my home or yours, I try to keep life as normal as possible. I stick closely to the routine you’ve already established because consistency helps pets feel secure. Meals happen when they’re used to eating, walks happen on their schedule, and medications are given exactly as instructed. I don’t believe every dog needs the same approach. Some want to play nonstop, some just want to sniff every inch of the yard, and some are happiest curled up beside you. I pay attention to what each pet is telling me and let them settle in at their own pace. I also know how reassuring updates can be when you’re away. I love animals and grew up in the country with 14 outdoor cats and 3 different dogs.
