Top notch Dog Sitter!! I highly recommend Ashleigh!!! I have so many good things to say about her service. She went above and beyond. Ashleigh was so attentive to my dog. She was challenged with a senior dog with high separation anxiety. I asked if she’d stay home with my dog more than be away. She spent long days and evenings with my girl just like I asked. She put the dog food, meds and treats in refridge after she noticed a line of ants on my counters. Ashleigh was so kind to voluntarily wash the bedsheets and put new ones on for me. That saved a lot of time for me after a long flight I can’t keep up with all the extras she did for me and my dog. Oh and she’s so fun to talk to as well. I was so pleased she was at a mature age rather than too young to know how to run a household. I feel my dog was in safe hands with Ashleigh and I’m already hiring her for 3 weeks from now for more overnights! She’s trustworthy, reliable and responds timely. Plus she just moved to Prescott, still unpacking and accepted my request on a last minute request. Thank you, Ashleigh for a job well done! Jingles thanks you! We have more trips where we will definitely hire Ashleigh. I just hope she isn’t booked

Jennifer did a great job with my pups. Most importantly she made sure my oldest received her insulin shot ,which was my biggest concern. The dogs were well cared for and my house was as clean as I had left it. So glad I found her!

Scott was an incredible dog sitter! We have two dogs — one elderly and one very high energy — plus a cat, and he handled all of them so well. He sent lots of great photos and updates throughout our trip, which gave us so much peace of mind. When we got home, the house looked fantastic, and it was clear our pets had been very well cared for. Beyond that, Scott is just a genuinely great person. We were so happy with him and will definitely use him again!

We couldn't have been happier having Malina as a pet sitter for Josie. It was our very first experience doing all of this with her. Malina stayed overnight and was very conscientious about keeping things in order. She came over before the stay to get acquainted with us and Josie and discuss schedules and routines, so Josie was familiar with her when she came over. She works remotely and was here the entire time. It sounded like they had a wonderful time together and Malina was very communicative with us, sending pictures and texts. She had wonderful comments about Josie. Josie loved her and so do we! Wouldn't hesitate to have her sit for us again.

Kami is the pet sitter that we've been looking for since we've had dogs in our family. Freyja and Raven "took to her" immediately. Two German Shepherd Dogs, each weighing well over 100 lbs., were "easy" for Kami. She played fetch with them, took them for regular exploration walks around our property, made sure that they were well fed and watered... But most importantly, Kami treated them like family. She also looked after our home and plants that needed attention while we were away. I'd like to keep her as "our own secret" so that she does not become too busy! When we go away for day trips or over-night adventures, we will look for Kami again here on Rover.

Anna took outstanding care of our three kitties while we were on vacation and our home was perfect upon our return. She sent frequent updates with pictures of our fur babies playing and being their goofy selves. The communication was excellent which allowed us to truly relax and enjoy our time away. Highly recommend her friendly, professional service.

Caitlin was amazing! We don't have kids and very protective of our furbaby. Caitlin treated Bella like she was her own pup. She did all the basics, followed our instructions, but so much more. Loved all updates and pics she sent. Bella was definitely spoiled. Caitlin also took great care of our home. We will definitely be booking her again.

We had the best experience with Mackenzie pesitting Pickles for a week. Mackenzie took such good care of our dog and our home, she went above and beyond! We even came home to flowers, washed linens and a kind note. She took Pickles on walks, outings, and even provided her with a new toy that she loves. When our flight was delayed and we thought we would not make it home on the scheduled day, she even offered to stay another day until we returned. I can’t say enough about Mackenzie and we will definitely be using her again for any of our pet sitting needs. Amazing experience!

Zoie was absolutely amazing with our dogs and cats. She stepped in last minute and was incredibly flexible when our plans unexpectedly changed and we got stuck needing an extra night. Knowing our pets were in such great hands made a stressful situation so much easier. She was communicative, reliable, and clearly cared for our animals like they were her own. We came home to happy, well-cared-for pets and felt completely at ease the entire time we were away. We’re so grateful for her kindness, flexibility, and help on such short notice. Highly recommend Zoie to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, caring, and dependable to watch their pets!

About: I’ve taken care of pets of all shapes and sizes: fish, chickens, goats, horses, and of course cats and dogs! I started working with dogs and training them when I was 7 years old in county 4-H, and then when I was in high school I assisted with puppies for Guide Dogs for the Blind, where I helped raisers socialize young puppies from 10 weeks to 18 months before they went back for further training. I’ve helped family and friends raise puppies they can live with and love, and my own dogs have been the best part of my life. I’m a current graduate student at Embry-Riddle, and I’m reliable, safe, and experienced in animal care. I’d love to work with you and your fuzzy family members! I work early shifts, so I’m available most of the afternoon and Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. I love taking walks in the early morning, before it gets too hot and the sidewalk is still nice and comfortable. My favorite thing is letting the dog set the pace, and sniff to their heart’s content. I can visit most homes in Prescott and Prescott Valley during the workday if needed, and have flexibility for other events or longer trips if needed. I make sure to keep as close to the expected routine as possible whenever I pet sit. Everyone likes to know when they have to get up in the morning or when breakfast is coming, and your pets are no different. I’m comfortable working with dogs of varying personalities, and can understand when they might be more open to play or socialization, versus when they just need some calm and relaxation.

About: I’m excited to care for your beloved pet while you’re away. I understand that pets are like children and I promise to be a responsible and loving substitute pet parent. I am caring and knowledgeable about animals' needs and behaviors. I work from home and have the time to walk and play with your pet as often as needed. I don’t have any kids living at home and no pets. I look forward to spoiling them as if they were my own. I live in a big neighborhood with a dog park and lots of hiking trails and paved sidewalks. About: Dogs have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I’ve grown up with dogs and currently have four of my own, so caring for pets is something that comes naturally to me. Through the years, I’ve gained experience with dogs of different breeds, sizes and personalities, and I’ve also helped care for dogs belonging to friends, family and others when they’ve needed a reliable sitter. I currently work a low-stress, remote job on weekdays, so I can be attentive to your pets for most of the day, whether it be taking them outside, playing with them, taking them on walks or whatever they need. When caring for pets, I make it a priority to keep them feel safe and comfortable by maintaining their normal routine as closely as possible. I follow all instructions carefully, whether it be feeding schedules, exercise needs, medications and any special care requirements. I understand that every dog is different, so I take the time to learn their personality and preferences to help them feel safe and relaxed while their owners are away.

FAQs for House Sitting - Cleator

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of August 2026, there are 227 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Cleator. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Cleator walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Cleator maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Cleator choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Cleator. On Rover:

  • 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
