“Rachael was wonderful with our dog from the moment they first met. I was having surgery out of town and any concerns faded when I saw how good Rachael was with her right off the bat! One less thing to worry about during my hospital stay. She included adorable photos and details of each visit. In our initial visit with Rachel, it was evident her knowledge, passion and caring for dogs, and I had no doubt our dog would be in great hands. Thank you, Rachael!”

“Ash did a great job with our pets while we were gone. She sent updates and pictures from each drop in. She showed up on time each day and all the animals seemed to love her!”

“Daniel is so good with our pup! Takes good care of her, makes sure she follows her routine and rules, and gives her plenty of love. So glad to have his help!”

“Allison is the best! We’ve had her help us out twice now and she does a great job and our dogs love her - couldn’t ask for better help with our big babies! Highly recommend.”

“Andrea was on time for each visit and went above and beyond with the communication and photos! Looking forward to having her back for any future needs. Thank you!!!!”

About: Hi, I'm Jess — a lifelong animal lover with a soft spot for the quirky, anxious, and cuddle-prone pets out there. Since moving to Des Moines in 2021 with my partner and our two rescue cats, Zelda and Juno, I’ve had the joy of fostering animals through Furry Friends Refuge and eventually adopting my “foster fail,” Theo — a resilient orange tabby who’s taught me more about patience, administering medication, and cooperative care than I ever imagined! What I do for you: I offer drop-ins, walks, and house sitting for dogs, cats, and most small animals (yes, even fish and reptiles). Whether your dog needs a midday adventure, your cat wants someone to chat with, or your lizard just needs the lights turned on at the right time — I’ve got it covered. Whether I’m doing drop-ins, house sitting, or dog walking, my focus is simple: I want your pets to feel safe, loved, and comfortable while you’re away. I take your routine seriously, whether that means no dogs on the couch — or mandatory couch cuddles. You tell me what works for your pet, and I’ll stick to it. Why you'll like me: With years of experience across species and a deep respect for pet parent routines, my top priority is to keep your pets happy, safe, and stress-free. I treat them like family — and yes, I will send you photos that make your pet look like they’re modeling for a magazine. Let me know your rules, routines, and what makes your companion special — I’d love to meet them! ********** Since I’m new to Rover but not new to pet care, I’ve lowered my rates to help build reviews — let me know if you have any questions! I have a very open schedule and I thrive on chaos. I am also constantly updating my calender so you can trust my shown availability. Safety: I will treat your pet with the dignity, care, and enthusiasm that they deserve. I strive to provide a safe environment and a uniquely tailored experience. If you are a first time client, I may require you to answer a quick questionnaire to help me better understand the needs of you and your pet/s.
“This was my first time using Rover, so I was nervous to leave my pup for the first time. I set up a few drop-in visits and Vivian came over for a quick meet-and-greet the day before. Vivian was on time and stayed with Felix longer than the drop-in window for couch cuddles and goofy pictures. I'll definitely be keeping her in mind should I need to leave Felix home during future travels.”

About: I have had pets of all shapes and sizes, all phases of life for my own entire life. I love getting to know the personalities of the pets in my life to make us both comfortable and confident in our environment! I am currently working part-time so I have a lot of availability to work out a schedule that works for you and your furry friend. I am happy to discuss special needs or extra details important for making your four legged family member feel safe and cared for while you are away.
“Jenevieve is wonderful to work with! She frequently communicates, truly cares about my dog and goes above and beyond while in our home. We will gladly work with her in the future.”

About: Simple mindset. I’ll do what the dogs and what the owner recommends. Needs a walk in the park? Grays Lake. Sleeps all day? So can I. Rain or shine, I guarantee a relaxing and safe environment to care for your dogs while you’re away. New to this and currently in between jobs. Starting with just a few days a week. Texting is the best way to reach me. Downtown Des Moines. Clients can set up cameras to remote view from where ever they are. I’ll record the walks on Strava to verify activity and proper exercise.
“Allison is reliable, communicative, and very caring! She’s my go-to sitter when I’m out of town, and she always takes great care of my home and kitties. 10/10 recommend, thanks Allison!”

“Morgan was great! I appreciated the pictures and communication while I was away. She gave me peace of mind and took wonderful care of my animals! I’ll definitely rebook with her in the future.”

“Thank you so much Yuejia! You did an exceptional job with our senior cat. He loved spending time with you. Thanks for always sending updates and doing a few extra things for us. We would absolutely trust you with Milo again and love to have you look after him. I definitely recommend you to all the cat owners and really appreciate all that you did!”

I can host your pet overnight in my home; stay overnight in your home if needed. Pop-in visits to provide breaks, walks, feeding if you live within a reasonable distance. I can also provide day care services if needed. I do not have a crate but bringing your own crate is optional but not required. House broken/trained is preferred. He's house-trained and does not shed and very friendly with other dogs.*** ***Boarding / House-sitting requests please note that I have a 1yr old 11lb Havanese in my home. Very social, friendly and playful. He gets along w/all people and dogs. He will also be w/me for any house-sitting bookings. House-trained and not destructive.*** I usually reply to requests within 10-20 min. If it's after 11 then the next morning. I work remote full-time Mon to Fri 8-5. Can do pop-in visits, walks and feedings as needed or on a set schedule that works best for your pet's current routine. Condo here and unfortunately do not have a yard but there are lots of green spaces near my condo at 10th and Mulberry. Space is over 1200 sq ft so plenty of room for your pet. ***I do have an 11 lb Havanese puppy that loves attention but is very smart and picks up on queues from other dogs. Shy and timid upon introduction and will play only if the other dog engages. Loves people and attention. My Havanese will be present for boardings and will accompany me for house-sitting bookings***
“So very grateful we found Brooke to come and spend some time with Lenny while we are at work! He warmed up to her super quick and loves spending time with her. ❤️ Very happy to have found someone to come give him loves during the day. Brooke is wonderful!”

“Zaira helped me out with a short notice request to take care of my cat, Ernestine. Prompt and professional in her responses to confirm...checked in and out each visit with pictures...as well as provided a complete report card of Ernestine each day. Would definitely reserve with Zaira, again!”
“Tanya took great care of our two cats while we were away! She stopped in to give them some love each day and provided us with nice updates and photos. We will absolutely rebook with her in the future!”
“My Goodness!! The commitment Stacey gave to watch our pets for almost a month is beyond anything I could ever imagine. From pictures every visit and a little note of whats happening every-time she dropped in gave us so much assurance and peace of mind. Not only did she feed and took care of letting the dogs out, she even brought her own treats for my cats and cared for them equally. She went above and beyond to clean up after the dog accidents, cleaning cat litter boxes even though it wasn’t discussed prior and offered to vacuum the pet fur off the couch and floors. I am very thankful for her and her care for my pets. I highly recommend her to trust her with your pets. My babies already miss her a lot. I know who to go to when I need a trusted pet sitter.”
