“We absolutely love Rachel! She kept us up to date on our fur babies, sending cute photos and kind notes with each rover card. Our dog and cat were well loved while we were out of town.”

About: I think we all would rather have a family member or friend care for our pets when we can't. Someone you can trust. Someone who knows just how much your furry child means to you. Someone who will treat your pet as their own. When instead opting for hired help, there is an understandable amount of apprehension! I am here to soothe that uneasy feeling. I have an extensive background with dogs, cats, rabbits, reptiles, rodents, and more! I work primarily with repeat clients, someone who needs me to be a reliable source for them and their pet when they are away. My main focus is prioritizing the comfort of you and your pet. I strive to ensure not only your satisfaction, but your pet's as well. I tend to be a bit of an assistant for you. I'll show up when you need, do what you need done, and be a relaible go-to for anything pet related. I'm even open to running errands when life gets busy and you forget to buy that one specific dog food or ran out of kitty litter a few days ago. For your pet, I'll be their friend! I talk to all animals (shamelessly) and I have enough experience that I usually know what they’re saying back. Whether your pet is super outgoing, shy, lazy, or reserved, I'll be what they want me to be for them. I truly enjoy the company of animals and I'd like to believe that feeling is reciprocated! About me: I'm originally from Arizona and moved to Iowa in 2016. I found my way to Des Moines in 2021 when I wanted to be closer to city life. Here my fiancé and I have bought a home in a cute suburb on the south side, about 10 minutes from downtown. My fiancé makes the real money; enough that I don't really need a job! I spent awhile catering to the needs of my home before seeking to help others beyond my regular routine. Now I am working to gather a handful of clients that I can work with long-term. I do also accept occasional short-term bookings but I find it most rewarding to continually work with the same families. I have enough time that I can take on a few more long-term clients. However, I keep my schedule very open and forgiving so that I can be there for my current clients' needs. Because of that, I am confident that I can be a relaible source for you to turn to when life isn't so easy to schedule. Last minute bookings, changes, and requests are all okay with me! I fully dedicate Monday-Wednesday to my clients but I am still available if needed other days. The only day that I am notably unavailable is Sundays as I usually travel out of town to visit family. All this to say, I truly care about the work I am doing. And I will truly care about you and your pets. If you think I might be right for you, don't hesitate to reach out! We can work together to see if I would be a good fit for you and your pet. I have a very open schedule and I thrive on chaos. I keep a separate, meticulously updated calendar just for my clients and I take notes on each pet. Safety: I will treat your pet with the dignity, care, and enthusiasm that they deserve. I strive to provide a safe environment and a uniquely tailored experience. If you are a first time client, I may require you to answer a quick questionnaire to help me better understand the needs of you and your pet/s.
“Jenevieve is wonderful to work with! She frequently communicates, truly cares about my dog and goes above and beyond while in our home. We will gladly work with her in the future.”

“Was right on time with what I suggested and we came back to a house still standing. 5/5 for us. Thank you Vivian for your prompt service and doing exactly what we asked.”

About: I grew up with cats and dogs of all sizes, from little terriers to huskeys and labs. Other pets such as fish and hamsters made appearances in my childhood as well. I've also taken several dog training classes and believe in positive reinforcement when it comes to training and maintaining behavior. I'm currently a full time graduate student, so I have flexibility with my schedule and will do my best to maintain your pet's normal schedule while you're away! Please note that I typically will not be accepting stays longer than 3-4 nights at this time (as of 6/2021). I am located in a townhouse that is near several parks and walking trails that I regularly take my own friendly and playful dogs on.

About: Hi! I’m Kelsey 😊 I’m a Des Moines native living downtown and working from home full-time. I’m a fur mama to Charlie, my almost 8-year-old Labrador mix, and Blue, my 10-year-old domestic shorthair cat—they’re truly my babies! I grew up my whole life caring for dogs & cats and have experience caring for rabbits, reptiles, and amphibians. I focus on safety, routine, and treating every animal like they’re my own. I’m comfortable administering daily medications and providing extra care for pets with special needs, if/when needed. Services I Offer: • Dog Walking • Drop-In Visits ✨Coming Soon✨ • Boarding • Day Care Because I work from home, pets in my care receive frequent potty breaks, walks, and plenty of attention. Walks may include Grays Lake or quieter trails for pups who prefer a calmer environment. With owner approval, I also have access to a small dog park for social dogs. I take the time to learn each pet’s personality, preferences, and routines so they feel safe, comfortable, and well-loved while you’re away. I look forward to caring for your pets as if they were my own! 🐶🐱 Flexible, reliable, and truly animal-obsessed! Because I work from home full-time, I’m able to provide frequent check-ins, extra attention, and a consistent routine your pets can feel comfortable with. I’m happy to care for dogs, cats, bunnies, reptiles, amphibians, and even shy or special-needs pets—each one receives patient, attentive care and plenty of love ✨ I prioritize safety, consistency, and attentive, reliable care. I carefully follow all owner instructions, maintain a clean and secure environment, and remain hands-on and observant at all times to ensure every pet feels safe, comfortable, and genuinely cared for.
“Katherine did great with our 3 YO Lab and our rescued 8MO newly rescued pup! She did an extra "meet & greet" since we adopted the pup after we had booked the drop-ins for one dog. She was on time, sent multiple photos to assure us the two were doing great, and left an extra note to let us know of a small problem the pup had while we were away. Great 1st assignment!”

“Dachshunds approved. I booked Morgan for drop in visits while we were out of town. I was kind of nervous on how my 2 judgy wienerdogs would do, but somehow she won them over, and the pictures she sent proved it. So happy it all worked out.”

About: I have grown up with dogs all my life! I do have a pup of my own, but am still sitting for those that are in need and don’t mind another dog in the home! I am also doing dog-walks and pop-ins! I work from home so your pup wont be alone. Weekends are usually open. I love all sizes and can’t help but spoil any one I meet! I have experience with both small and larger dogs. I would love to walk or jog with your pet, even if it is cold outside depending on what they can handle. Feel free to message me with any questions! I work for myself and from home so I am able to adjust my work schedule pretty well. No dogs have needed to be kenneled while working. I have a pup of my own that loves to play with others. If they do not get along, I have a gate at that can keep them separate-although I have not had this issue yet. We have a big crate that can home your pup when we are out of the house.
“Thank you so much Yuejia! You did an exceptional job with our senior cat. He loved spending time with you. Thanks for always sending updates and doing a few extra things for us. We would absolutely trust you with Milo again and love to have you look after him. I definitely recommend you to all the cat owners and really appreciate all that you did!”

“I was traveling almost for a month and she took good care of my babies and also kept my place neat. Thank you for your help in. I will definitely pick you again soon thanks.”

“Cory has helped me out a couple times before and I'll continue to use him in the future. He is professional, timely, and communicates very well. Thank you!”

Fairground pet parents share their Rover experiences
Rachael did drop in visits for my two cats over about a week and a half. I appreciated the punctuality and extra effort to give them wet food (they're on an auto feeder and my little piggy Zakky definitely appreciated it 😂). No complaints and would book Rachael again. 🙂
