About: I’ve always been a huge animal lover and have plenty of experience caring for animals of all shapes and sizes! I have horses of my own and have cared for everything from horses and donkeys to dogs, cats, and even fish. I also have two dogs of my own: a giant Goldendoodle (and I mean GIANT lol!) and a little wiener dog, along with two cats, a Maine Coon and a white shorthair. In addition to caring for my own pets, I take care of my boss’s two dogs every day at work, so I’m very comfortable with daily routines, feeding, walks, playtime, and giving pets plenty of love and attention. I also have lots of experience looking after other people’s animals, from the tiniest pups to the biggest dogs and everything in between! I know every animal has its own personality, needs, and routine, and I love getting to know each one. Whether your pet needs walks, playtime, feeding, or just some extra care while you’re away, I’m happy to help! I’ll always treat your animals like they’re my own and make sure they’re loved and well taken care of! I currently work Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, and I have college classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 AM to 11 AM. Outside of those hours, my schedule is pretty flexible! I’m more than happy to work with you to find times that fit both of our schedules. I know everyone has different routines, and I’ll always do my best to accommodate you and your furry friends! Whether you need someone for a quick check-in, a walk, or a longer stay, feel free to reach out and we can figure out what works best for everyone! I know how important it is to feel comfortable leaving your pets in someone else’s care because I feel the exact same way about my own! Your pet’s safety, happiness, and comfort will always be my top priorities. I understand that every animal has its own personality, routine, and needs, so I’ll always do my best to make sure they feel safe, loved, and comfortable while you’re away. I’m happy to follow any specific instructions you have, whether that’s feeding schedules, medications, walks, or just their favorite little routines! I’ll also make sure to keep you updated with pictures and messages so you can have peace of mind knowing your furry family members are in good hands. I’ll treat your home with respect and your pets with the same love and care I give my own!
“We had a wonderful experience with Shelby! This was our first time using a dog sitter who wasn’t a family member, and we were a little nervous at first — but Shelby completely put our minds at ease. She took great care of our dog and sent multiple photos every day so we always knew how he was doing. It was clear she treated him with kindness and attention, and we came home to a happy pup and a clean home. We’re so grateful for her care and would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, thoughtful sitter!”

“Rachel has done a phenomenal job at taking care of my dog. She was very communicative and went above and beyond. My dog is quite anxious especially around new people, I could tell how comfortable she made him. I highly recommend booking with her!”

Promo code: GENEVG49713 https://www.rover.com/sit/genevg49713 I work from home 2 days per week, and my partner is home working 3 days a week. Our roommate also works at a vet hospital and is currently in school to get her vet tech degree. She works 5 minutes from the house and comes home on lunch breaks to let the dogs outside so they never go more than 4 hours at a time during the work week without a potty break. I am off on weekends so I’ll be home with them majority of the time on weekends as well. I have a fenced in yard, plus 3 dogs myself that love to meet new friends and play. I always make sure the dog has the same feeding routine they do when you are home. I try not to change up their normal routine so that the stay is as stress free as possible for your dog.
About: I've been trusted to care for dogs, cats, birds, and reptiles starting around the age of 8. I have gone on to care for many special needs animals, and have no problem following any instructions to ensure the best care. I'm currently working part-time, and can easily accommodate most schedules. I am looking to make this more of a full time gig, and get away from delivery apps. Currently, I am unable to host pets in my residence but would have no problem follow any instruction or detail in a client's home. I am here for you!
About: I am comfortable staying overnight as well as ensuring your animals feel comfortable with me. I have been professionally walking my friend’s dog five days a week for two years now. I will make sure to stick to their normal routines, so they are less stressed. I hope I can give your animals lot of love and pets! Im usually available, but even at my job—I am still able to drop in around my lunch. So I’ll make sure to drop in as much as possible I am not able to keep any animals at my home due to me not renting or owning a home ( I’m a college student ).
“Beth went above & beyond caring for our furry baby in our home for a weekend! It is clear that Beth loves animals, and our dog loved her! She sent us photo updates multiple times each day, which made us feel more comfortable leaving her. We would definitely call on Beth again in the future.”

About: I kept friends dogs at my home for years while they traveled for work or play. I now have two cats I adore, but they don’t get along with dogs or I would still do it in my own home. I’ve supported and helped train several of my dogs and generally don’t have a problem holding the parents expectations for their fur kids, if that’s behaving on leash, rehearsing training, or making sure that they “do something” for treats, I’m happy to make sure they aren’t letting their manners slip around the new guy. I am a large man over 6ft and 230lb, and I have met a few pups who specifically didn’t seem comfortable around me, they were rescues and some warmed up with time. I would to meet your shy pet and see if they warm up, but I prefer being honest and if large men give your pet anxiety, I may not be the sitter for you. And that’s ok I’m a massage therapist, so while my schedule may change from day to day, I have time to swing by for walks, feedings, or even meds as long as you have specific instructions for the meds. I don’t take clients until 10, and i often have large breaks during the day to visit or check on the fur kids. I am not married nor do I have kids so i can be flexible with my time. I follow the clients instructions to the letter, and leave the space as I found it with happy sleepy pets. I’ve cared for kennels and champion hunting dogs, feral cats and the dogs they scared. I prioritize keeping them on their own schedule and stress free. I will let you know if and where I would need to deviate from their normal schedule if necessary. So that you can make the best choice for your pets health
“I am so pleased with the entire experience. Charish is kind, punctual and professional. She communicates well with us during her time here. Best of all, our dogs loved her. They were very content when we got home.”

About: I’ve had dogs my entire life and caring for animals has always been a big part of who I am. On my 18th birthday, I got an English Bulldog, which taught me the importance of understanding breed-specific needs, health concerns, and proper care. Since then, I’ve spent countless hours researching dog behavior, nutrition, exercise requirements, and overall wellness. I have experience dog sitting and walking dogs of different sizes and personalities. Whether it’s an energetic dog that needs plenty of exercise or a senior dog that requires extra patience and attention, I take the time to make sure each pet feels safe, comfortable, and loved. I genuinely love animals and treat every pet as if they were my own. I understand how important it is to trust someone with a member of your family, and I take that responsibility seriously. My goal is to provide dependable, compassionate care and give pet owners peace of mind while they’re away. My schedule is very flexible this summer while I’m waiting for school to start back, which allows me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to pet care. I’m available throughout the week for walks, drop-in visits, feeding, playtime, and companionship. I enjoy being active and spending time with animals, so caring for pets fits naturally into my daily routine. I tailor my care to each pet’s individual needs and follow the owner’s instructions closely. For boarding, I provide a safe, comfortable environment with plenty of attention, exercise, playtime, fresh water, and regular feeding schedules. While I do not have a fenced yard, I live directly across from a park and make sure dogs get plenty of safe outdoor time and activity. Pets are welcome on the furniture and are treated like part of the family. For house sitting, I maintain the pet’s normal routine to help them feel comfortable while also respecting and caring for the owner’s home. During walks, I focus on safety, exercise, and making sure each dog gets the attention and activity they need. No matter the service, I treat every pet as if they were my own and make their well-being my top priority.
About: I've taken care of cats, dogs, and other animals for 15 years. Neighbors, friends and family have chosen me to make sure their peta are well taken care of while they are away. I currently work part time so I have plenty of time to play with puppies! I usually off on weekends so I'm free to check animals in the morning and walk them in the evening as well as house sit as needed. Currently we have an indoor cat that we keep safe inside. House can keep a small dog but do not currently have a yard. Animals very welcome
“Michelle was wonderful! She was very attentive for our pup. She communicated any questions she had as well as frequent updates. She also even brought Pickles a pup cup (with permission). We would definitely recommend her!”

“Shamon was awesome! She watched my 2 dogs while I was out of town for the weekend. She sent me a lot of pictures and I could see she was taking great care of them, and my house while I was away! She has a passion for animals and it shows. I would definitely recommend her and will definitely have her back again! ?”

I’ve grown up around animals my entire life, from energetic puppies to gentle senior pets, and I’ve developed a deep understanding of their needs, routines, and personalities. Most importantly, I take time to understand each pet’s needs and personality so they feel comfortable, calm, and cared for while their owner is away. Trust and safety are always my top priorities!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Chattanooga Valley walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Chattanooga Valley maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Chattanooga Valley choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
