“Bonnie came to visit before our trip so we could meet before we left. She sent a photo of the pets when she arrived and more photos each day we were gone. When we came home the house was as we left it and pets were happy. We never had to worry. We’ll definitely reach out to her first next time we need a pet sitter!”

“Allie was great watching our dog overnight! She sent lots of updates, pictures and videos, and gave us a list of everything they did throughout the day! She was super flexible working with our changing schedule. We will definitely be using her services again!”

“I requested a last minute stay from Madison and she was able to save the day and watch our house and kitty cat. She sent photo updates of my kitty and was very nice house guest. She made sure to clean our home and asked questions when necessary.”

“Malinda was great! Kept me updated over the two weeks she watched them. My dogs were super happy and comfortable, including my youngest who can be a nervous with new people.”

About: I kept friends dogs at my home for years while they traveled for work or play. I now have two cats I adore, but they don’t get along with dogs or I would still do it in my own home. I’ve supported and helped train several of my dogs and generally don’t have a problem holding the parents expectations for their fur kids, if that’s behaving on leash, rehearsing training, or making sure that they “do something” for treats, I’m happy to make sure they aren’t letting their manners slip around the new guy. I am a large man over 6ft and 230lb, and I have met a few pups who specifically didn’t seem comfortable around me, they were rescues and some warmed up with time. I would to meet your shy pet and see if they warm up, but I prefer being honest and if large men give your pet anxiety, I may not be the sitter for you. And that’s ok I’m a massage therapist, so while my schedule may change from day to day, I have time to swing by for walks, feedings, or even meds as long as you have specific instructions for the meds. I don’t take clients until 10, and i often have large breaks during the day to visit or check on the fur kids. I am not married nor do I have kids so i can be flexible with my time. I follow the clients instructions to the letter, and leave the space as I found it with happy sleepy pets. I’ve cared for kennels and champion hunting dogs, feral cats and the dogs they scared. I prioritize keeping them on their own schedule and stress free. I will let you know if and where I would need to deviate from their normal schedule if necessary. So that you can make the best choice for your pets health
“Gillian is our go to dog sitter. She has watched our pup twice while we were away for a week on an international trip. I would not leave my dog with anyone else!”

“Justin did such a great job for us! Sam loved him and our other dog Zeus liked him as well. Zeus has some pretty high anxiety issues and Justin did a good job with him, walking him more than usual and even gaining his trust to pet him without having accidents. Justin house sat for us and we will definitely be calling on him again for his attention to detail, professionalism, and expertise! He even provided us with updates including videos and photos. Thank you so much, Justin!!!”

“I can’t thank Ryan enough for taking such good care of Blue while I was away. He kept me updated with pics and messages which was much appreciated! Ryan is also a good communicator, dependable, and follows instructions. His calm demeanor also helps keep Blue’s excitable nature in check! 😄. Blue was a happy, healthy boy when I returned. I wouldn’t hesitate to request Ryan again in the future!”

“Rachel has done a phenomenal job at taking care of my dog. She was very communicative and went above and beyond. My dog is quite anxious especially around new people, I could tell how comfortable she made him. I highly recommend booking with her!”

About: Hey! I'm Darby, I have 6 years of experience caring for pets of all shapes and sizes including dogs, cats, fish, reptiles, amphibians, and small mammals. Pet sitting was the fist way I discovered I could make money when I was in middle school, and I still love it to this day! I have about 1.5 years of experience working as a trained veterinary technician. This means that I am comfortable working with special needs animals, providing special diets, and administering medication. I am also familiar working with animals that may be anxious. Right now, I'm studying animal biology at The University of Tennessee, working at an exotic animal clinic, and am starting to apply for veterinary school. Relevant Classes: Animal Anatomy and Physiology, Cellular & Molecular Biology, Small Animal Veterinary Medicine I'm currently working part-time and taking college courses online. My best availability is all-day Friday-Sunday, but I can be flexible if I have a heads up! I like to make sure I have everything I need to know from a client before they leave so I don't have to bother them too much while they're away! This includes medication, feeding schedule, behavioral problems, and any space that may be off limits to myself and/or the pet. I'm no stranger to a mess, so no worries if your pet is prone to accidents.
“Kalinen spent a lot of time with our pets, and took them on walks individually. She left the house clean and as it was. She communicated and sent adorable photos, which is a nice touch. Excellent care, thank you!”

“This was our first time using Abril and she did not disappoint. She sent us updates along with pictures and videos. Kingston was happy and his usual energetic self. Thank you Abril.”

About: I have walking dogs since I was 8 years old. I have a hyperactive dog and I know how to care for dogs with loads of energy! I am always happy to go on a walk or play around. We have lots of toys and are able to crate if that is needed. There is also easy access to a nice walk near my house.
“I am very particular when it comes to my puppy baby and this was by far the BEST experience I have had using rover. Shelby sent me updates, pictures, and followed my pups schedule to a tee. I was able to relax and enjoy my trip knowing my pup was well taken care of. Will definitely be using Shelby again.”

About: I was a dog groomer for 5 years so I am expert in understanding animal’s languages and needs. I’m kind, responsible and dedicated to making you and your pet feel comfortable. I know how hard it can be to trust your babies with someone new! I am in between jobs so I currently have full availability! I can also accommodate reactive dogs - I have personal experience with them and understand their needs/quirks.
“Amanda is fantastic! She sent messages and pictures everyday and we could tell our babies were well cared for and loved! We will be using Amanda every time we go out of town from this point on. Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Flintstone walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Flintstone maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Flintstone choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Flintstone. On Rover:
- 97% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 92% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
