About: Hi! My name is Riley and I'm a 21-year-old nursing student originally from South Carolina. Animals have always been a huge part of my life. I grew up on a farm raising and caring for different animals, so caretaking has always come naturally to me. As of now, I have 4 dogs back at home and 1 dog currently residing with me. What sets me apart is my lifelong experience with all types of animals, my reliability, and how much I truly love caring for them. I understand how important it is to find someone to trust with your pets. I'm very communicative, respectful of each pet's/owner's unique needs, and can confidently handle anything from a laid-back walk to giving medications or handling multiple pets simultaneously. Whether it's daily walks, playtime, or overnight stays, I'll treat your pup(s) like family! Pet care is at the center of my daily life! Rover is my near full-time job, which allows me to dedicate my full attention to the pets I care for. I am currently a nursing student in my second semester, but I have a flexible schedule with plenty of time to focus completely on your pet’s needs. My schedule currently consists of 2 classes on Tuesdays from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, and two separate clinicals every Wednesday at 6:30 am until 3:00 pm (from January 28th until April 1st), and every Monday (from February 2nd until March 2nd) at 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. I live near the college campus, surrounded by hiking trails and parks which is perfect for daily walks, outdoor adventures, and plenty of playtime. Making sure your pet feels safe, loved, and cared for is always my #1 priority. Whether caring for pets in my home or yours, I focus on creating a safe, comfortable, and loving environment. I follow each pet’s usual routine as closely as possible, including their feeding schedule, exercise needs, and any special instructions you provide. I make sure they get plenty of attention, playtime, and exercise, whether it’s relaxing at home, going for walks, playing in the dog park, or exploring nearby trails. In my home, your pet will also have the opportunity to socialize with my own friendly dog, who loves making new pup friends. I always keep a close eye on behavior and health to make sure they are happy and stress-free. Communication is important to me, so I provide regular updates and photos, so you can feel confident your pet is well cared for while you’re away.
“This is the first time we hired Christian to walk our dog and it was a great experience. Christian was so kind with Remy and made sure that he was comfortable. Highly recommend!”

“Abigail was great. Arrived on time, braved the unexpected windy conditions, picked up the bountiful ‘gift bags’ and my dog seemed to enjoy the walk! Will be booking again.”

“Rachel did a wonderful job with our two rescue dogs. She was patient and kind and on time. We received photos after every walk which gave us a great deal of comfort while we were away. We highly recommend Rachel and will be asking her to walk our dogs again soon. Thank you ❤️”

About: I’ve been caring for pets - both dogs and cats - since the age of 11, and I have a special place in my heart for high energy dogs and working breeds. I love helping them get the exercise and attention they need - whether it’s a quick drop-in or a long walk! I have a flexible work schedule and keep my availability up to date for reliable booking. If you don’t see a time that works, feel free to reach out - I’m happy to accommodate when I can! Your pet’s safety is my top priority. When at my home, I provide a secure fenced in yard and take extra care to create a safe, calm environment.
About: Hi! I have taken care of animals for over 5 years, starting when I was around 13 years old. Neighbors, family, and friends have relied on me to feed, walk, play, and hang out with their pets while at work or out of town. I am a huge animal lover and look forward to ensuring pets are happy and healthy while their families are away :) I am currently an undergraduate student at UVA and am in Charlottesville for most of the year, so I am flexible with scheduling and availability. I currently live in a spacious apartment with two cats who get along great with other animals. I am an organized, detail oriented, and neat person.
About: Because I grew up with 3 dogs and 4 cats, my friends and family know to reach out to me to feed, walk, and bathe their pets. I have also had to give medicine to some of the pets I've cared for, so giving your dog or cat pills won't be a problem. I am currently a Graduate student at UVA taking summer classes and want to care for some pets on the weekends or on Mondays when my schedule allows for it. Since I don't have pets here, I would love to give all my love and attention to yours! I know how much our pets mean to us, and I would make sure to follow any special instructions you have for your pets. I've been around dogs and cats since I was 5, so I can read pets' body language well. I always let the dog/cat approach me before initiating any petting because I know some pets are a little nervous around new people.
Charlottesville High dog parents share their Rover experiences
Thanks so much to Tracy for all her help. Despite the cold and ice she took care of Sunny every morning. He enjoyed walks with her, playing and she gave him his food and water every morning. He's picky with people since he was adopted and she has been so great with him. Love the photos and updates. Thank you Tracy!
