About: I've had dogs my whole life and started dog-sitting for my neighbors at 9 years old. I love all animals, but dogs have a very special place in my heart. I've worked with dogs of all ages, and over the summer, I cared for a puppy full-time for the family I nanny for. I am very comfortable with big dogs and have lots of experience with large breeds, including Corsos and English Mastiffs. I hope I can make your time away from your pets a little bit easier and less stressful! I am a full-time student at the University of Virginia (with a car), so I have classes during the weekdays; however, I do have many breaks and a few days each week without classes, so I have a lot of room for coming by to check in and help out in any way I can. What I do to keep the animals and myself safe really depends on the situation. When I walk, I always carry pepper spray, and I have collars with lights on them in case I am ever walking a dog in low visibility. The important thing to me is making sure I follow any specific requests from the owners!

I love all pets but my favorites are big dogs and old cats — I have a 21 year old cat and a French Mastiff back home. My law school classes start in the late morning and are spread throughout the day, which gives me flexibility for morning visits, midday check-ins, and walks. For clients in Charlottesville, I’m able to come back to the home between classes, so pets aren’t left alone for long stretches. When I care for pets in your home, I focus on keeping them comfortable, relaxed, and never feeling alone. I spend time with them in common spaces so they can get used to me. If they’re comfortable, I let pets sleep in my room at night so they don’t feel lonely or miss their owners too much. Safety is a top priority for me—I never take dogs outside a fenced yard without a leash, even if they’re well trained, and I’m very careful with doors and entryways (I know all the kitty-proof tricks to prevent curious cats from sneaking out). I enjoy playing with pets who are able, I’m very clean and tidy, quick to handle messes, and I treat your home with care. I also send regular updates and photos so you can relax while you’re away.

About: I’ve always had animals in my younger life from cats to dogs, and even though I only have a cat I continue to love dogs. My current housing situation allows me to share dog sitting and caring of his clients dogs (ages 9 months to 14 years) for the last ten years. Since then I have asked my neighbors for tending to the needs of their dogs be it from a 5 mile walk on and off leash to a 100 yard potty break in addition to giving medications. I’m currently working part time three days a week and an occasional Saturday, so I have the time to care and interact for your furry friend. I live in a neighborhood with easy access to the Rivanna trails and a road trip access to a farm with woods in Earlysville for running in fields. I also have a very tolerant cat who actually enjoys dogs staying with me because she’s learned that visiting dogs often get a treat she’s earned one too. My house has hardwood floors on the first floor throughout access to the carpeted lower level is through a door. The dog would have free range of the house while we were at home and unless he/she is accustomed to be crated.

At home, I help care for a Pitbull Mix and a large Australian Shepherd, both weighing around 75 lbs. I am confident in my ability to understand their body language and handle them effectively. Growing up with dogs, barn cats, and horses has equipped me with a diverse skill set when it comes to animal care! I have experience administering medicine, cleaning up accidents, managing reactive dogs, and caring for animals of all ages. For years, I have been doing drop-in visits and overnight stays caring for dogs, cats, and even goats! I’m organized, reliable, responsible, and adaptable to your pet’s specific needs. For the Fall 2026 semester, I am consistently busy Tuesdays and Thursdays midday and for a few hours in the evenings, but am available in the mornings and every other day of the week. About: I've been pet sitting since age 12, grew up with dogs, and started fostering cats and dogs in college. I have a cat of my own now! I have experience with both puppies and kittens, as well as with senior pets. I have also given oral medications and eye drops, and am comfortable with large and small dogs. I just finished up grad school and am working on job applications, so my schedule is pretty open! I am free any time during the week and on most weekends. I am more than happy to walk your dogs, take them to the dog park, or just hang out with pets who have separation anxiety! I have no problem giving medications of any kind, helping out with training, or keeping senior pets comfortable.

It was urgent because our daughter was getting married and we would be gone all day. Rachael got back to us very quickly, came for a previsit and we knew we (and our dog) were in good hands. She is very thoughtful, caring and thorough asking all the right questions when we were somewhat scattered due to everything going on with the wedding. And to top it off, one of the bride's maids who was staying with us unexpectedly brought her dog too so we had to ask her at the last minute to walk a second dog as well. Rachael didn't skip a beat. About: My family had labradors from the time I was an infant. All of ours were raised as puppies, well behaved and successfully potty trained. I also had a French bulldog raised from a puppy as an adult. In recent years I have learned love cats through my wife, and we now have 4 lovely adult indoor cats who we rescued all as kittens. I work from home 9-5 Monday through Friday. I can be flexible for mid-day visits, although mornings and afternoons/evenings are more reliable. I am generally available at all times of day on weekends. I have my own transportation and I’m happy to accommodate your needs.
