“Arlene is an incredible person and great dog mom! My dogs instantly loved her and her spacious back yard!! The home is very cozy and dog friendly. We appreciate Arlene for being caring and attentive toward our doggies. My three little ones had a blast. They are all going back for a sleepover in another day. This is definitely the perfect home away from home ❤️❤️❤️???”

“When we met Andrew at his house, he gave us a tour which included his yard. We picked up our 23lb 12 yr old poodle mix a few hours later. Oogie was happy and fell asleep when we returned home. This is the first time we used Rover’s app & dog sitting services. We are happy with the overall experience.”

“Brian is absolutely amazing with dogs. He understands them and cares for them like his own. Peaches had a great time in his house. We were a bit skeptical since we’ve never left her anywhere overnight but Brian made everything so easily and made us feel so comfortable leaving her there for a few days. Thank you so much! We will definitely be using Rover and Brian’s services again.”

“Sandra was great, we really liked how she was very responsive, on time and on top of that she send me updates of our little Lui during his stay at her home. We highly recommend her, thank you for taking care of our little Lui!”

“Miko had a great time at Shireen’s! We did a meet and greet a few days before to help him warm up a bit, and that was helpful for my nervous pup. If we ever need a sitter again, we will definitely be booking with Shireen!”

“Archie had so much fun staying with Stephanie (and Tank) that he would start wagging his tail when we pull up to the house and bolts inside as soon as the door opens!! She is caring, reliable, and sends great updates/pics through out the day :) 10/10 recommend”

“Leslie has been amazing! I have been using her for daycare when I have long work days. Her grandson snuggles my boys and Leslie is there with them the entire time, letting them out into the yard for exercise. I can't tell you how relieved I feel knowing that they're not at home alone. Leslie has given me such great peace of mind.”

“Sabrina watched our baby for daycare for 3 days. Our pup quickly seemed to warm up to her. She kept us updated during the day and graciously brought her to us at the end of the day. Sabrina seemed super friendly and she treated our pup with a lot of care, even in the face of our dog’s first heat cycle. We appreciate her and the care she provided.”

About: I have grown up with animals my whole life ever since i can remember. I love all animals, however dogs have a special place in my heart. I am Deaf, and dogs seem to be very comfortable and protective with me as if they know about my deafness. I have taught my dogs basic tricks using sign language such as "sit, stay, friend (or paw shake), lay down". I absolutely love cuddling with my dogs and watching them be silly. I currently assist my older sister with baby sitting my autistic niece part time. I am available from 11am-2:00pm however if you need anything in the evenings, I am open to that as well, just feel free to ask! :) I always approach new dogs with calm and soft energy and will generally allow them to come to me and sniff. I am very patient to those who may feel anxious. I know how to read a dogs body language. I will always communicate with you about your pets needs.
“What a lovely, caring family. Janica and her son welcomed our recent rescue puppy with open arms, and reassured us she would be fine with them and their dog - and she was right! We got picture updates even though our dog was only with them a few hours. ...we just wish we had someone we could trust living closer to us on the Central Coast.”

About: My whole life I have been surrounded by all kinds of pets, but my love drifted towards dogs the most. I have owned 5 different breeds of dogs in my life; Labrador, Rottweiler, Pit-bull, Maltese, and Jack Russel Terrier. I have dealt with dogs of all sizes and never had an issue getting along with any of them. Before my Pit-bull was put down she got pregnant and gave birth to 12 baby pit-bulls, unfortunately we could not keep them all, but before they all given away I was given the responsibility to take care of the mother and the babies. Sadly only my Labrador and Terrier remains, but that never stopped me from caring for other dogs, currently I dog sit for my neighbors when they are either out of town or need a walker. Whether it's nonstop running at the park or soothing and relaxing at home I am 110% at your service! I work in a hybrid setting allowing more flexibility to take care of any needs of the pet and you! I consistently take care of animals throughout the week. I have a large fenced backyard so your animal can be free! There are no children or other animals in the household so my full attention can be on your baby.

Brian was absolutely amazing with Joy! From the start, he was friendly, professional, and communicative. He kept us updated with photos and messages throughout the stay, which gave us so much peace of mind. It was obvious that Joy was happy, comfortable, and well cared for. Brian treated him like one of his own, and we could tell he received plenty of attention, love, and care. We picked up a happy, relaxed pup, and that's the best feeling as pet parents. We highly recommend Brian to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and trustworthy Rover sitter. We'll definitely be booking with him again!

Not only did Andrew offer a comprehensive meet and greet weeks before daycare services, he had a play space that accommodated all of my concerns including heat/dehydration and room to himself. When Andrew’s Doberman first met Archie, he was protective of me but Andrew knew how to intervene and assured me he knew exactly what he was doing. He also sent me photo updates throughout the day which I really appreciated! Book this guy!

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Chadbourne commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
