“John was great with our girl. He was very responsive from the beginning all the way to pick up - even sending pictures throughout. He was very accommodating with pickup and drop off hours, and with our meet and greet. We would definitely recommend him and choose him again in the future!”

“"I wanted to send a huge thank you for taking such amazing care of my dog! I really appreciate you keeping me updated with pics—it made me feel so much better knowing my furry baby was in good hands. You went above and beyond, and I'm so grateful! I can tell my puppy was in good hands just by me picking her up she still went inside her house and said goodbye with a lick to Tasha and that made me feel comfortable. I will so recommend her and I will be coming back to her soon. Thank you 😊”

“This was my first time using Rover, and I had a great experience with Shireen and her family. My two cats stayed with them for several days, and they were very patient and caring, especially since my cats are shy in new environments. I received regular photo updates, which gave me a lot of peace of mind while I was away. A special thank you to Shireen’s wife, who was the person I interacted with the most. She was very kind, welcoming, and attentive throughout the entire stay. She kept me updated, sent photos, and made the whole process feel much easier and less stressful. When I picked up my cats, they were healthy, safe, and well cared for. I would definitely trust them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for someone reliable to care for their pets. Thank you again for taking such good care of Jonnie and Nathan.”

“Raven was amazing with Golden! He was so happy and comfortable with her, and I could tell she genuinely took great care of him. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing he was in good hands while I was away. I would definitely trust Raven with Golden again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable dog sitter!”
“Mrs.Darlene was wonderful! Being a first time Rover user I was greatly impressed by all the love and cuddles my fur baby received while in her care. The daily photos and updates were a plus. Mrs. Darlene is a rockstar her personality is outstanding and a beautiful person who loves animals. I would definitely recommend and rebook in the future”

“Anthony is top-notch! He took great care of our King Charles Cavalier for four days. Anthony sent lots of pictures and videos of our dog playing with his dog, Kai. He took our dog on many walks to the local park and played fetch with the dogs his backyard. Anthony was very flexible with pickup/drop off times and had everything ready to go when it was time to take our dog home. I highly recommend Anthony for dog boarding and we will be rebooking with him in a few weeks.”

“Sabrina and her husband are friendly and easy to talk with. she seems to love the pups she sits. I have not had a chance to talk with her after the board because a friend picked up my dog.”

“Linda took great care of Jeda while I was away on a long trip. I was given great updates and photos of Jeda often and I felt comfortable that Jeda was with her. I would not hesitate to leave by baby with Linda again. Thank you Linda for being like a second mommy🥰”

“My Near just returned from an amazing 4 day holiday at Jacqueline's house , filled with all the cuddles from her sweet son, tasty treats (with my permission) and amazing care. I didn't worry one second because I received update messages and pictures in the morning and evening to update me on how Bear slept (in the morning) and how her day was (in the evening). Punctual, loving , excellent communication and receptive. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!! Will be rebooking again!!!”

“Kazumi was so great with our dog, Lemon was a little sad at first but she warmed up to Kazumi. Kazumi sent us many pictures of her playing and reassured me that Lemon was fine. I am so glad we found Kazumi, she is great and so attentive to our dog. What a blessing to find someone who cared for our dog like her own💜”

“Love this lady. I feel instant connection and so my puppy. She was extremely nice and make sure we see our puppy everyday that we were gone which makes the kids happy . Her price is also reasonable. I have found a friend”

“Marcela did a great job with Gabby! Gabby loved having a playmate Taco (Marcela's dog) and even whined when she came home for a bit because I think she was sad about leaving her playmate : ( Would definitely use Marcela again! Thank you!”

About: I've been a dog mom my entire life, having had 4 dogs over the years of every size and activity level. I now have an excellent yard for dogs to play in and would love to play with dogs all day! I work from home and am open for doggie day care from 8AM to 6PM on weekdays. Boarding can be arranged so let's talk! Thanks I have a fenced in yard with 3 separate large areas and 3 big kennels when needed for feeding and such, and my dog loves to play!
“Jessica and her family took care of Avery as if she was one of their own. Avery is an anxious girl with limited vision and Jess took extra care to make sure she felt at home. I was a wreck when I dropped Avery off, but felt relieved after the first night. The daily updates were much appreciated and I highly recommend anyone looking for a dog sitter.”
About: My whole life I have been surrounded by all kinds of pets, but my love drifted towards dogs the most. I have owned 5 different breeds of dogs in my life; Labrador, Rottweiler, Pit-bull, Maltese, and Jack Russel Terrier. I have dealt with dogs of all sizes and never had an issue getting along with any of them. Before my Pit-bull was put down she got pregnant and gave birth to 12 baby pit-bulls, unfortunately we could not keep them all, but before they all given away I was given the responsibility to take care of the mother and the babies. Sadly only my Labrador and Terrier remains, but that never stopped me from caring for other dogs, currently I dog sit for my neighbors when they are either out of town or need a walker. Whether it's nonstop running at the park or soothing and relaxing at home I am 110% at your service! I work in a hybrid setting allowing more flexibility to take care of any needs of the pet and you! I consistently take care of animals throughout the week. I have a large fenced backyard so your animal can be free! There are no children or other animals in the household so my full attention can be on your baby.
“Amanda and Mitchell did an amazing job taking care of Louie while we were out of town for 5 days. They were great about taking Louie on daily walks and trips to the park, and provided lot updates with photos! They were very understanding when our return flight was delayed, and Amanda even offered to drop him off for free which was a huge help. He was a happy and tired boy when he got home!! Thank you Amanda and Mitchell, we will be back!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Chadbourne
Erin did a wonderful job, our little teacup Sophie is so relaxed after almost a 4 day stay which shows that she was cared for with lots of TLC. We got many pictures and status update which is always wonderful , we were running late picking her up, but Erin accommodated us and was very kind. We’re so grateful and we will definitely be back! Thanks a lot, Erin! Sean & Laura

Another great stay!… Thank you for taking good care of the girls as always! Carrie and Brad are awesome!… They’ve been our go to for 11-12 years now… They taken care of our girls anywhere from 2 nights… Up to 17 nights… We never have to worry… We know our pups are safe and taken care of… Thank you!

Piper was friendly, and Faith was very friendly with her. On arrival I was met by Piper; she introduced herself and gave me a brief history of her experience with animals. During Faith's stay with her, she sent me pictures of her, and Faith tends to be in good spirits walking and playing on the piper bed. on May 22, 2026, I picked faith up on time. Piper said Faith was a good girl, no problems.

Arlene was really eager and excited about keeping Kobi! Even after I advised he had some mobility issues and could not run around she was ok with keeping a close eye on him. He immediately felt comfortable in her home . She updated me regularly and I knew he was in good care . Will be booking again for sure .

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Chadbourne home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Chadbourne.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Chadbourne sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
