Elma took care of our dog Chlodwig while we were at our daughter's wedding. She was great with him and took him on several walks and sent cute photos. We were able to enjoy the evening knowing he was in good hands. Would definitely choose Elma again.

About: Hello my furry friend lovers!! I have cared for many different kinds of animals in my life, some of which include dogs, cats, birds, mice, rabbits, guinea pigs, fish, snakes, goats, chickens and now pot belly pigs. We love making homemade treats in our house so I am currently taking some pet nutrition classes to safely make special dietary treats. I am comfortable with all ages and sizes. I would be more than happy to meet you before any final decisions are made so that we can discuss everything there is to know about your pet. I have experience with different illnesses and medications from working with a rescue where I adopted my own angel with a neurological disorder. We absolutely adore pets and I can promise you that you and your baby will be treated like family. I am a stay at home wife that is taking pet nutrition and business classes so I could someday open my own pet boutique where everything is homemade. I promise no potty breaks will be missed and your baby gets all the love and cuddles they can handle. 😊 We have dogs, cats and pot belly pigs for your pet to play with in our fenced yard but we also have big crates for separation if needed. Your baby will be allowed on our furniture to sleep and get cuddles unless you say otherwise lol we do love our snuggles.

Gianna was a wonderful sitter for my babies! She paid attention to detail and left everything neat and tidy. Very easy to get ahold of and a great communicator. When I got back, all my pets were happy and calm which says a lot about how they were taken care of while I away. Highly recommend!

About: An animal and nature lover at heart, I am eager to spend time with dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, or any other pets you may have. I have experience with obedience training, grooming, as well as administering medications and meeting special dietary needs. Personally, I have a wonderful, smart and energetic Border Collie/Aussie mix who loves making new friends. We both enjoy playing fetch and tug, learning new tricks and practicing our commands to earn treats. Please let me know how I can help to keep your non-human family member safe, loved, and entertained! I am self-employed and generally have a very flexible schedule. I do often spend stretches of time out of town (mainly LA and Bay Area), so I appreciate scheduling gigs a bit in advance so I can plan accordingly. No one knows your pet better than you, so I will always defer to your lead as to what your pet needs and prefers. That being said, depending on what level of care you desire for your pet, I am happy and comfortable to take dogs for walks or to dog parks, play fetch or hide and seek, practice commands, and give all the belly rubs that they can stand. If you prefer they sleep in a crate, we can definitely manage that; or if they are like my pup and want to use me as a body pillow at night, I would be more that happy to oblige! Just let me know what you are comfortable with! If needed, I am also open to hosting pets at my home (with fenced in yard).

Always communicative with updates throughout the stay and we completely trust him with caring for our pups while we are away! He’s fantastic with 3 huskies! Highly recommend Parker to anyone needing regular dog walks or watching them while away! Thanks again!

About: Hello! I am Woody’s Owner ( 2 yo, m, Aussie, 55 lbs) and you got a friend in me! I am communicative, positive, and flexible with your needs. I am high energy, loving, and helpful. Here’s a little about my pet experience: I have volunteered at animal shelters since I was fifteen years old. I have experience with reptiles, birds, cats, and dogs. I enjoy backpacking, hiking, trail walks, and simply crocheting at home with the tv on. I like to watch the next Netflix drama hit, obviously. I have activities to do with high energy dogs and even low energy ones. See you’ve got a friend in me. I’ve got you through the highs and lows. I have open availability most of the week. I am open to any routines owners would like me to continue for their pets. This can be related to food, exercise, medication, and so on. My dog is kennel trained, so he can be separated from any other dogs I’m sitting if the dog I am sitting is not socialized. However, my dog is socialized and will be happy to have a playmate. I can take your pet out as often as you require and I can transport dogs to the dog park if that is okay. I also have extra feeding and water bowls, as well as toys and treats for any dog I am sitting. I also have a fenced yard.

Lynette was wonderful with my fur babies. Because my doggies are older and require extensive care, I am very nervous about leaving them. Lynette made me feel comfortable. She tended to their needs and provided the extra care they needed. She is also extremely reliable, which is hard to find. I appreciate her so much!

He’s also helped care for pets belonging to family and friends, often taking on full household responsibilities while they traveled. This hands on experience has taught him how to build trust quickly with animals and maintain a calm, dependable environment. Roger currently works full-time for a medical supply company from 4 PM–1 AM, so he’s available for morning, early-afternoon, and weekend care. Meet Amy Amy has owned and cared for both dogs and cats for many years. She’s experienced with a wide range of personalities, temperaments, and needs, and she always brings patience and empathy to every furry friend she meets. We’d love the chance to meet you and your furry family members. Please feel free to message us with any questions we’re excited to help you any way we can! I currently work full-time for a medical supply company from 4 PM to 1 AM, Tuesday through Thursday and friday 20m-11pm and Saturday noon to 8:30pm I’m available for pet sitting outside of those hours, including mornings, early afternoons, and weekends. About: I’ll love your pets as deeply as I love my own🐶💕 •Lifelong dog owner, with experience as a dog trainer, farrier, wrangler, pet sitter, foster, & caregiver. Worked in dog boarding facilities & with private pet owners, while volunteering at shelters, rescues, ranches, and stables. • Home 24/7 – Your pet will always be in my care and never left wondering where I am. • Single story home with a secure yard for safe play and relaxation. • Two friendly dogs of my own who love making new friends & can provide great companionship if your pup enjoys socializing. (can be definitely separated, if needed) • Experienced with animals of all sizes, ages, personalities, puppies, seniors, and those with special needs. My animals have always come first.. they eat before I do, every single time. Their happiness, safety, and comfort are my top priorities. Working with animals has taught me patience, situational awareness, & how to understand the quiet, nonverbal ways they communicate. I believe every pet deserves to feel loved, safe, and understood while their family is away. I would be honored to earn your trust, care for your furry family member like my own, and hopefully become their new best friend. This is more than just a “hustle” to me, it’s my passion. 🥰 -I work from home, and have a very flexible schedule to attend to your dog's needs. - My home is completely fenced in - safe for your dog to roam and run around supervised. -Can easily crate or separate the dogs if needed. - Neighborhood is safe and dog-friendly - No kids or cats in my home - Have my A/C on constantly (necessary with the summer heat!) - Usually only book 1 client at a time to ensure I give your dog the best attention. I have a fully fenced yard, and two very friendly dogs. If needed, my pups definitely can be separated, or crated. In my client's home, I follow every rule and expectation they imply. I take extra precautions being in the client's home, as I dont want anything to happen to any of their stuff or their furbaby.

Alexandria went so above and beyond during this stay at our house for 6 days. She cared for our older cat who did not give her much in return and yet Alexandria persisted with love and sweetness and companionship. Last time I left the cat for many days under another persons care, my cat lost a significant percent of her body weight out of stress. But with Ali, I came home to a fat, happy cat!!! Ali cleaned my house before she left, did laundry, and took the garbage for the week with her when she left. I was quite nervous to trust a stranger and the Rover app to vet someone to live in my home for 6 days. But all my doubts and worries were a waste of energy because Ali was so very responsible, lovely, communicative, and she took care of the house and cat in unexpected and very thoughtful ways. Can’t say enough positive things about Ali. Thank you Alexandria!!!!

FAQs for House Sitting - Cedar Glen

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Cedar Glen on Rover is $72.15 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 1,362 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Cedar Glen. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Cedar Glen walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Cedar Glen maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Cedar Glen choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Cedar Glen. On Rover:

  • 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
