“This was our second time using Courtney, and she gave excellent care to Max and Milo. She communicates any questions or concerns, and provides lots of pictures and feedback.”

“Paul was wonderful!! He put our dogs at ease immediately during the meet and greet! He was on time and cared for our dogs just like we would. We’ll definitely have him back!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs and have had dogs my whole life. Volunteering at the SPCA, to either play with, clean kennels, walk, and just to hang out and give them love! My neighbors, family, and friends have always relied on me to take care of their dogs while they are away! I am currently working part time but I have a lot of availability throughout the summer to be able to take care of your animals. Anytime I get to either snuggle with dogs/ cats, play with any animal I treat them as if they were my own! Making sure they are comfortable with me before we start having some playtime fun, if I know an animal doesn’t like something I will back away and stop what I’m doing until they are comfortable and calmed down! Keeping your dog in the crate no problem!! Each rule and instructions you give me I will follow to the max! Anything that happens or if needed to be changed due the weather etc. I will update you and let you know! I also send pictures of your furry friends each time I visit so that you can see how they are doing!

About: I’m experienced with all types of animals, from energetic puppies to senior cats. I love all animals, and am passionate about making them feel loved the way they do for us. I work remotely as a wedding photographer, which leaves my schedule wide open for pet care. Occasional late-night editing is my workload each week, and can be done at my own home or at others. I care for my cat, Billie, in my home as an indoor cat only. I am open to caring for others pets in my home dependent on their behavior with other cats!
“Lydia was a great help for the week with our high energy, young cat. She was easy to communicate with, sent lots of pictures throughout the week, and made us feel comfortable while we were away. I definitely recommend Lydia!”

“Christine took loving gentle care of our geriatric cat (while on multiple medicines) for a long weekend away. She was very easy to communicate and allowed us to have a mini vacation without worrying about our kitty girl. We are so grateful for her calm and reliable presence with our feline family member. Would definitely ask for her services again!!”

“Libby is a fantastic dog sitter! She took good care of my dog during her visits and provided great updates. I would definitely recommend her to watch your pet(s).”

About: I grew up with at least one big dog always in the house. I’m very comfortable with working with multiple dogs and dogs of all sizes. But, I also have a lot of experience with different pets. I have a lot of experience taking care of my own senior cat and will happily take care of your cat. I also have some experience with rodents and birds. Whatever you need Imm happy to provide. I am currently going to college. If your home is nearby I can stop by between classes but my classes go no later than 3:30. I’ll listen to your wants and needs. I can crate dogs if that’s your preference and work with what you need. Each pet’s needs are different and the owner knows best.

“Words simply cannot express how grateful I am for Ami and James. Ami went wayyy above and beyond for us and our fur babies. They sent me messages when they were enroute to our home which put my mind at ease. Then, photos and/or videos were "worth a thousand words" as the saying goes. Ami is literally a lifesaver. I will definitely be booking again. (Thanks again, Ami.)”

“Margaret always does a great job when she watches our kitties and we appreciate her so much! Both cats seem well-adjusted and calm in the report card photos (which we love seeing while on vacation!) and when we get home, so I know she has a gentle approach to their daily care that they seem to feel comfortable with.”

“Brady's visit was quite impressive with my two senior dogs. My dogs are rescues and take a while to warm up to people so the constantly bark. They didn't really bark at all and warmed up to him right away which always takes longer with others even family so I was impressed. Brady was always on time and very polite I'm excited we found someone that my dogs will enjoy!”

About: I’ve been taking care of my own dog as well as family and friends dogs for about 10 years. I am able to take long walks, feed, and entertain in general. I consider myself very trustworthy as I’ve had a dog my whole life. I recently just graduated college and am back home so I am free most weekdays any time after 1 pm. I can walk around for some good exercise for the dog or just play in the yard. I live in a great area for nice long walks. If I’m staying at a clients home, I provide lots of cuddles inside as well as fun play time outside.

Alicia was nothing short of amazing. I was in a bind and she was available and very communicative and accommodating. She was very understanding of my situation and made me feel very comfortable and secure in the fact that my cat was in good hands. Being away from home and away from your fur baby is very difficult but Alicia made it so easy. I will definitely be using her again in the future

Damen has been caring for my two pups and two cats while we are working. He is absolutely amazing with our animals! He came and met our animals and to see where everything was for them! He is incredibly trustworthy and updates me on the animals each time he’s there with pictures and videos! The pups and myself could not recommend him more to take care of your animal needs!

Briana is awesome. She was Jacks's sitter last year and we could not think of anyone else to look after him again. We couldn't be happier with the care provided for him. Briana always followed all of our instructions for his feeding perfectly. We especially appreciated the daily adorable photos, which gave us peace of mind while we were away. Jack, who is usually very shy around new people, seemed completely at ease and even playful in the pictures. We returned home to a very happy cat and a clean house. We highly recommend Briana!! :)
Ndeye did a great job with both my cats for the three weeks that we were away on vacation. The cats were happy and healthy, you could also tell the litter was also properly taken care of while we were gone. We are very pleased with her work. Would definitely recommend!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
