About: I worked as a veterinarian assistant from the late 90's until the mid 2000's. I have been a certified high school teacher since 1999 and worked as a vet assistant after school during the week and full time on weekends. I have lots of experience working with animals of all types. I have my Master's of Science, my Bachelor's of art and am currently pursuing a doctorate while teaching. I have the Summers off and all the holidays that the Lee county schools take. I am energetic and athletic and love jogging and walking with dogs. I have never lived a day of my life without multiple animals in the house. I could not possible live without cuddling a dog or cat on the daily! I will be available for full time pet care during the months of June- August and during the school holiday breaks. During the school week I am up at 4am and home by 2pm. Pets are integrated into my family unit which consists of a super-friendly cat, and a 4 pound Pomeranian. I also have two teenaged daughters who love animals as much as I do and enjoy cuddling on the couch with dogs or cats and sharing a bed. If your dog likes walks, I LOVE walking up to three miles which I can also jog if required.

About: My name is Dixan, animals have always been important to me. I believe that they should be cared for and treated as well as we treat ourselves. I've been around dogs and cats since I can remember; I have a three year old dog of my own, and I share responsibility in caring for two other dogs. I lived on a property that provided Corgi and mutt rescues and rehabilitation in Oklahoma City. Id help foster dogs, train basic behaviors and commands, and help find them a new home. I learned a lot about how to deal with animals there, it was a great experience. I've dogsat dogs with breathing trouble, diabetes, incontinence, physical disability, and blindness. I've sat very old dogs, and very young puppies and kittens. As far as walking, I have helped trained dogs to restrain from pulling while on leash. All training methods I have learned are positive reinforcement based methods. I'm not a fan of some of the other methods. I have a very flexible schedule. I am my own boss so I can usually work with what you’d like me to do and when you’d like me to be there. I will treat your pets like they’re my own. I’ll give them individual attention and care. I’m comfortable walking and playing with dogs of all sizes. One of my own dogs has to be crated sometimes, so I’m no stranger to that if you need it.

Potty breaks are frequent. Play and cuddle time is even more frequent. I want to briefly address the horror stories that I hear when talking to customers. Mainly about sitters that disappear for 12 hours out of the day or damage property. Animals are far too important to me for me to not make them a priority. Whether you are watching or not, my job will be the same. To make your loved one feel okay that their mommy or daddy is not there. I can't make them not miss you, but I can control the environment to make them know they are safe and secure until they see you again. And if I am watching your home, I will take care of it as if it was my own until I turn it back over to you. Trust is a very important thing that should not be taken advantage of. I am able to board animals under 30 lbs at my condo. It's a wonderful place for my furry friends to visit because it is very quiet and there are multiple safe areas to walk and explore, including a duck pond.

I can administer medication, change doggy diapers and tire your pet out with fetch (or whatever they like).
