“Gretel is very friendly, reliable and kept my kitty very comfortable. I contacted Gretel on very short notice due to a family emergency. She immediately got back to me and made herself available for an initial interview. She was very attentive and very concerned about getting all the instructions for my kitty correct. While I was away she kept me informed and sent me videos and photos after all her appointments. I feel very lucky to leave my kitty in Gretel’s care and highly recommend her. I will definitely rely on her great service in the future. Thank you very much Gretel.”
“Thank you for caring for our sweet and spicy kitty, Alice! The notes and photos you sent each day really helped ease my mind while missing my girl. We will happily call on you again when we need per care!”

“Logan was very quick and easy to communicate with. Was a nice companion for my dog Rudy to get to know and now has another reliable human that will take him on his daily need of long walks or a swim when it's hot.”

Great communication with us and pictures at every visit are some highlights of his work. We will definitely hire him again if he's available for our next trip.”

“Brooklyne looked after our two cats for a week, and she was excellent! From our first meet and greet to all of the updates and pictures along the way, she provided great care to our cats and allowed us to enjoy our time away. I recommend Brooklyne and will request her expertise in the future!”

“Falin did a great job taking care of our cat while we were away. She provided detailed updates and photos for each visit. Our kitty can be a bit standoff-ish, and Falin made sure to respect her space while also making sure she was well cared for. Thanks Falin!”

About: Your furry friend's happiness is my top priority! With years of experience, I specialize in dog walking, puppy care, and dog and cat sitting. Allow me take your dog on their next adventure! About: I recently moved from Brazil to Peterborough and have always had a deep love for animals. Back in Brazil, I volunteered at local animal shelters, gaining valuable experience caring for both cats and dogs. Now, I continue my volunteer work at the Peterborough Humane Society, helping ensure pets are happy and well cared for. I’m naturally more of a cat person, but I truly enjoy spending time with dogs as well. I’m patient, responsible, and committed to giving every pet the love and attention they deserve. I’m flexible and happy to work with your schedule! I’m generally available: Weekdays: mornings and afternoons Weekends: full day availability I can accommodate regular dog walks, drop-in visits, and overnight stays with prior notice. I love spending time with pets and can adjust my schedule to meet their needs. Your pet’s safety and well-being are my top priorities. I’m reliable, responsible, and committed to following your instructions closely, so you can feel confident that your furry friend is safe and happy while you’re away.
About: My love for dogs began at a young age, and throughout my life I have naturally taken on the responsibility of caring for them. From daily walks and feeding to grooming, hydration, and training, caring for dogs has always been something I genuinely enjoy. For many years, friends, family, and neighbours have trusted me to care for their pets while they are away, giving me valuable hands-on experience with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and energy levels. I have a natural ability to build strong relationships with dogs and often incorporate training into my interactions, including heel work, recall, leash manners, and fun tricks that help strengthen the bond between dogs and their owners. My goal is to provide reliable, compassionate, and professional care that gives pet owners peace of mind. I am available Monday through Friday for dog walking services, as well as 2–3 drop-in visits between 5:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. each weekday. I’m currently working part time and am available Monday–Friday, 5:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. for 1-hour dog walks or drop-in visits, including potty breaks, feeding, hydration, companionship, and a 15-minute walk. To ensure the comfort and well-being of my own three cats, I do not offer boarding services for dogs or cats in my home. Instead, I provide personalized in-home care through 1–3 daily visits, allowing your pets to remain comfortable and relaxed in their familiar environment. For dogs who enjoy a little extra adventure, I have a fully insured and safety-equipped 2003 Honda Civic with dog seatbelt restraints. With your permission, I can take your pup on enriching walks and hikes along the beautiful trails at Emily Provincial Park, providing both exercise and mental stimulation while keeping safety my top priority.
“Zoe was such a lifesaver popping in to let our pups out and feed them. She communicated well and we felt very safe with her in the house and with the dogs. Could not recommend her anymore!”

“Took excellent care of our home and our two cats! She did everything we asked of her and more. Took amazing photos so we could see them while we were away and left us detailed reports of how they were doing. Will be for sure booking in the future!”

“Benjamin is very responsive, professional and attentive to the needs of our cats. Our cats liked him immediately upon meeting him and were at ease in his presence. Benjamin went above and beyond to make sure our cats were cared for, even staying past the 30 minute appointment to make sure the cats played enough and all required tasks were completed. He made sure our first experience with Rover was an excellent one! If you need a pet-sitter, you won’t find someone better!”

About: Thank you for reading over my page! I've grown up with dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, and fish. And I love all animals. I'm most familiar with poodles, chow chows, and frenchies, but love all the funny and lovable characteristics every individual dog or cat possesses. I also have extensive experience with reactive dog, and can assist those who need walks with low interaction, special needs, training, etc. I currently work part time as a Law Clerk. This is why I am able to provide almost constant care in your home, dog walks, and whatever else you may need for your furry family members. Looking to help care for your little loved ones, and can also offer some special needs such as medication administration. I am most interested in house/pet sitting over weekdays and weekends. I can also accommodate last minute demands. Dog walking/hiking, drop-ins. All are welcome! Can't wait to meet you! Because I work part time my schedule is generally fairly open, except for school drop off and pick up during the school season. If your furry friend needs constant, uninterrupted care, please let me know and I will advise whether that will be possible. Your pets are your family, and I understand that. When I am caring for your pet I will always treat them with the utmost care and love, making sure any special needs or wants are met 100% of the time.

Sienna was such an amazing sitter! My two kitties were super happy! She took a bunch of pictures and always let me know what she had done during the visit (play, feed, litter, etc). She was super easy to coordinate with as well! I would highly recommend her to anyone!!

Shreema took amazing care of my cat Shuggie. He NEVER comes out for strangers but he came out for her and was comfortable and affectionate! I truly believe she's a cat whisperer. I recommend her to anyone who wants a sweet, compassionate person to care for their animals, especially cats who are shy and skittish like my boy. 11/10 will be asking her to check on Shuggie in the future 😻

Brianna took fantastic care of our senior cat while we were gone for the August long weekend. She checked in on time every day and gave great updates, which meant we could just enjoy our time away knowing that our cat was being well looked after. We would absolutely book with Brianna again!

There are 195 sitters on Rover for Pet Sitting in Peterborough. About 91% of Peterborough sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you’re planning ahead for holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day coverage for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.
Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.
A pet sitter can provide focused care sessions, help your pet’s routine stay on track, or keep you updated on your pet’s mood and energy levels.
Whether you’re at the office for the day or travelling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer poop breaks during a Peterborough stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.
Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover based on what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.
You can coordinate how much supervision you want directly with your sitter. While every sitter’s schedule varies, here are some examples of supervision by pet care service:
- Boarding or doggy day care: Many sitters can provide frequent companionship because they design their day specifically around the pets in their care or work from home.
- House sitting: Your sitter generally stays in your home for the requested duration, which may include overnight care. They may step out briefly to visit other pet clients, but your home remains their primary base.
- Drop-in visits or dog walking: These can be scheduled in 30- or 60-minute windows (and can be shorter or longer at your request) to help your pet receive dedicated attention and care during those specific times.
Interested in constant or 24/7 care? This service often incurs an additional fee but many sitters are happy to discuss this option with you.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Peterborough choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
