“Our little Bean, who is a COVID baby and spent the last two years (her whole life) with us 24/7, just loves going to Gretels to play with her new friends. She adjusted quickly because of the loving care she receives from Gretel. I would highly recommend Gretel and she is Beans home away from home ❤️”

“She is amazing, very caring and very kind. Milo had never been away from home without us and he was super happy and relaxed, when my husband came to pick him up he wasn’t in any rush to leave but the opposite feels like he was hoping to stay longer. We really appreciate she walked Milo 4 times and when we came to pick him up we were impressed to see Milo walking so politely and relaxed with her, Milo with us is pulling the leach all the time. We are very happy and we’re thankful for all she did to integrate Milo and make him feel comfortable and happy”

“Loghan is awesome, great communication and easy to reach. He sends pictures during Leo's stay which I really appreciate. Leo loves going over to Loghans for a stay! Thank you so much.”

About: Hi! We are Star Sitters here on Rover, with 6 years of professional pet care and 18 with our own animals. Someone is always here in our calm, safe, and dog friendly home so your dog can spend the day with company instead of being home alone. We do live with our loveable Boston Terrier, Gus, and we are often found hiking on dog friendly trails on the weekend or spending time at the lake. We are very active, enjoy being outside and think dogs should be too - Gus has a lot of energy so daily excercise is key already here. I work as a professional planner and Scott works from home and we are both free on weekends with flexible schedules. We spend a lot of love and time on Gus, who, like us, loves being around other dogs. We would be happy to meet you and your doggy in advance so you can get to know us. Emily works in the office four days per week just a few minutes from home, Scott works from home. Neither of us work on the weekend. Our home is save for any animal - we're smoke free, drug free with no children. Gus loves other dogs and always enjoys having a friend around. Our back yard is mostly fenced in and it's tucked behind. The front is also mostly fenced with a small garden fence.
“We had an amazing experience boarding our dog here. From the moment we dropped off our pup, we knew Hua was in great hands. She was incredibly professional, kind, and attentive, ensuring our dog received plenty of love, exercise, and proper meals.”

“Genna was wonderful with my dog. She was gentle and patient which is exactly what my dog needs. Plus, she gave my dog 2 long walks, so Mija says, Woof, Woof, Genna is the best dog-sitter ever!!”
“Shae is awesome!! She had constant communication with us and treated little pup with great care. He looked so happy and comfortable in his pictures and looks like he went on lots of walks! I would love for Shae to watch our little guy again! We will be repeat customers forsure”

“Bryan and Raisa are awesome!! I can’t recommend them enough! My pup Cash is always SO excited to spend time with them, which gives me so much peace of mind whenever I’m away at work for the day. I really appreciate how flexible they are with doggy daycare hours as I work long days I also really appreciate the update photos and messages while I’m gone — it’s so nice seeing how happy and comfortable he is. Reliable, caring, and genuinely amazing with dogs. Highly recommend!”

About: I've been caring for pets for over 15 years and love getting to know each animal's unique personality. My experience includes caring for friends' and neighbors' dogs, as well as raising four cats through every stage of life, from kittens to seniors. I know how important it is to keep pets safe, comfortable, and happy while you're away. Whether your pet enjoys walks, playtime, cuddles, or sticking to their routine, I'll provide patient and personalized care adjusted to their needs. I love spending time outdoors and enjoy walks, hikes, and runs, so I would bring your pet with me if that's what they like too! I also have a fenced backyard (for more relaxed outdoor activities) and nearby trails for plenty of exercise. If your pet is more comfortable at home, I'm happy to travel to you. With my own car, I can also take dogs to parks or dog-friendly beaches for extra adventure, if you'd like. Whatever works best for you and your pet, I'm happy to help! I truly appreciate the opportunity to care for your furry family member and will treat them with the same love, patience, and attention I'd give my own. :) I’m available throughout the week and on weekends, and I’m happy to work around your schedule. Just let me know when you need care, and I’ll make it work. I can either take care of your pet at your place or mine. If it is your place, I respect the space, keep everything clean and organized, and ensure pets feel comfortable in their familiar environment. To my living situation: I currently live in a house with my partner without any pets or children. We have a fenced backyard and would have enough space for a crate in the house.
About: I've had dogs in my life for 40 years and truly love having them around. In recent years I've owned senior rescue dogs, so I understand how important patience, routine and gentle attention can be. Whether a dog is playful or just needs a place to happily chill, I make sure they feel comfortable and at ease. I take dogs in when you're travelling or need occasional dog sitting, rather than permanent dog care. Because I work from home, dogs fit very naturally into my daily routine. They get plenty of attention, regular outdoor breaks in my fenced yard and relaxed time inside the house with me throughout the day. I enjoy walking with them, playtime and quiet companionship. Your dog will stay in a calm, safe and loving home where they can relax and feel comfortable. They will have plenty of outdoor breaks in my fenced yard as well as regular walks. I pay close attention to their personality and routine so they feel safe, cared for and right at home while you're away. There are no other pets or children in my home, so your dog will have my full attention.
About: I’ve spent my whole life caring for animals, and I truly can’t imagine a home without them. Over the years, I’ve raised and trained dogs from puppyhood—including golden retrievers, labs, and shepherd mixes—and loved them through every stage of life until their senior years. I’ve also cared for cats for more than 25 years, including fostering pregnant mothers and nursing newborn kittens. What really sets me apart is my experience with pets that need extra care: elderly, injured, or special-needs animals who require patience, strength, and compassion. Through volunteering with LAWS and the Humane Society, I’ve had the privilege of supporting animals in all kinds of situations. I’m active, reliable, and strong—I go to the gym regularly—and I’ll bring that same energy, love, and dedication to caring for your pets as if they were my own. Now that I’m semi retired, I have all the time in the world to dedicate to something I truly love—caring for animals. My days are wide open, which means I can easily adjust to your pet’s schedule for feeding, walks, playtime, or just keeping them company. Spending time with animals has always been one of my favourite pastimes, and it brings me joy to make them feel safe, happy, and cared for. Whether it’s a relaxed cuddle session with a senior cat, an energetic walk with a playful dog, or checking in throughout the day, I have the flexibility and the heart to give your pets the attention they deserve. When I care for pets in my home, I make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and part of the family. I keep a calm, pet-friendly environment with lots of love, attention, and plenty of time for play or rest depending on their needs. If I’m caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow their routines closely, whether that means sticking to specific feeding times, administering medications, or keeping up with favourite activities. I know how important consistency is for animals, so I make it a priority to keep their day-to-day life as familiar and stress-free as possible. No matter the setting, I give each pet the patience, care, and affection I’d want for my own.

About: Thank you for reading over my page! I've grown up with dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, and fish. And I love all animals. I'm most familiar with poodles, chow chows, and frenchies, but love all the funny and lovable characteristics every individual dog or cat possesses. I also have extensive experience with reactive dog, and can assist those who need walks with low interaction, special needs, training, etc. I currently work part time as a Law Clerk. This is why I am able to provide almost constant care in your home, dog walks, and whatever else you may need for your furry family members. Looking to help care for your little loved ones, and can also offer some special needs such as medication administration. I am most interested in house/pet sitting over weekdays and weekends. I can also accommodate last minute demands. Dog walking/hiking, drop-ins. All are welcome! Can't wait to meet you! Because I work part time my schedule is generally fairly open, except for school drop off and pick up during the school season. If your furry friend needs constant, uninterrupted care, please let me know and I will advise whether that will be possible. Your pets are your family, and I understand that. When I am caring for your pet I will always treat them with the utmost care and love, making sure any special needs or wants are met 100% of the time.
“Dane provided excellent care today for Tilly, my 1 year old Portuguese WaterDog. She does not tire easily yet Dane succeeded in exactly doing that! I recommend Dane for your pet care needs via Rover.”

About: I have enjoyed taking care of dogs and other pets from a young age. I like getting to know the unique qualities of each animal and enjoy providing an enriching environment full of activities for the active dog, or a quiet, calm space for the pets who take more time to settle in. Caring for, and socializing, puppies over a summer was one of the most memorable pet care times, as a family member was preparing to find homes for a litter. I'm currently off work for the summer and have lots of flexibility to care for your pets for overnight stays, walks, or drop in visits to your home. I have a fenced backyard and a park across the road with lots of walking trails around to accomodate all the needs or your furry friend. We do also have 1 friendly cat in the home.
About: Name: Chelsy Age: 34 I absolutely adore animals of all species. If you met someone that knows me the first thing they’ll tell is I’m a sucker for animals. Have you seen Punch the Monkey on TikTok? Yeah he consumes my mind more than I’d like to admit. I have specific long term experience with cats and dogs. I have cats, a dog, and have had a hamster and bird myself, all of different personalities but very well loved and cared for (which people pride us on often). I want you to feel at ease and comfortable leaving your fur babies with me- knowing their best interest, needs, and health always come first! I have experience with young, senior, and special needs animals. I want to broaden my passion and work to build strong relationships with every fur baby I can! My soul dog Benny passed away two years ago and I would love to fill my heart with other pets to care for. I currently work full-time with the school board as an educational assistant. My wife owns her own business and is home periodically throughout the day. We can provide care periodically throughout the day, full time evening and nights, and weekends. With the most amount of love! I follow clients care instructions because after all they know their pets best. As much as I want and love to give animals love, I also respect their need to warm up to me. I always give them space and time to learn me and become comfortable.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Peterborough commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in ON ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
