“Very convenient, accommodating, detailed. Was very sceptical about it initially but was very pleasantly surprised. A great alternative to the kennel option for your animals.”

“Loghan was a great sitter for my puppy, he was kind and attentive, easy to reach and sent me tons of pictures and updates. It was my first time away from my pup and I felt really reassured with this stay. The location was also really nice. All in all I would definitely book with him again :-)”

“A lovely couple who truly loves dogs. They sent regular updates with videos and photos, which put our mind at ease when leaving our puppy for the first time.”

I’m a totally dog person-can’t imagine the world without them! I’m currently work from home, giving me plenty of flexible time to care for your pets. I’m fully available on both weekdays and weekends from 8am to 9pm. I live in a house with a patio and unfenced yard, offering plenty of space both indoors and outdoors. We’re just a 10-minutes walk from Peterborough off-leash dog park, perfect for adding some extra fun and adventure to your puppy’s day!
“Brooke was absolutely amazing with my dog! From the moment they met, I could tell she genuinely cared and knew how to handle dogs with love and confidence. She kept me updated with photos and little notes that gave me total peace of mind while I was away. My dog came back happy, relaxed, and clearly well taken care of. I’d trust Brooke again in a heartbeat—highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and kind pet sitter!”

“Shea was very responsive to my questions and concerns. She provided updates and photos regularly throughout the weekend I was away. Millie had a great time and was well looked after.”

“Rhonda was absolutely amazing! She took such wonderful care of my older, reactive dog and handled everything with skill and kindness. Her experience with dogs really shows — Lollie was comfortable, happy, and even a little sad to see her go! Rhonda stayed at my home and left it spotless — so clean and tidy you wouldn’t have even known anyone had stayed. I have complete peace of mind leaving Lollie in her care and will definitely be inviting her back next time!”

“Sarah and Family were great. Our German Shepherd, Fritz, spent a week with them. We were provided with alot of updates, and pictures and videos of a very happy boy with lots of walks and playtime.”

“Christine is a very warm, very friendly caring person and it was obvious from the moment she met our two dogs they would be in wonderful hands with her! One of our dogs is very shy, yet she took to Christine very quickly. Their home is perfect in terms of the layout and with a fenced back yard. Christine sent us photos over the 3 day period and is very responsive in her replies. One of our dogs is challenged to navigate stairs however Christine had a gate to prevent her from going up the stairs and potentially hurting herself. We would definitely book Christine again to care for our two dogs!!”

About: hiii, I’m Devin! (I’m new to Rover) I have (ongoing) experience volunteering at multiple humane societies, volunteering at an animal sanctuary, pet sitting, and I’m going into a Veterinary Technician program next year! I spend lots of my time caring for, playing with and loving animals with different personalities, needs, and comfort levels. Patience, consistency, and making animals feel safe and comfortable is very important. Volunteering and spending my time with animals reinforces how important it is to meet the needs of every specific individual animal. Im comfortable following specialized care and medical instructions carefully and paying close attention to changes in behaviour or needs. I’ve given prescribed medication to animals in many ways, many times so I’m 100% okay and accommodating to special care animals. I’m especially good with shy, anxious, or sensitive animals and try to create a calm, low-stress environment for them. I read, watch and learn lots about animals everyday. I have many certifications around animals as well; like the ‘Fear Free’ certification for example. What sets me apart is my experience and also that I genuinely care about animals as individuals and that I take the time to understand their individual personalities, routines, and boundaries rather than treating care as “just a job”. This is something I’m very passionate about. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals and being attentive to their needs. I’m able to dedicate time throughout the day for walks, feeding, playtime, check-ins, medication if needed, and making sure pets feel comfortable and cared for. I’m someone who pays close attention to routines and details, so I understand the importance of consistency for animals. Whether a pet is energetic and playful or more shy and relaxed, I’m patient and adapt to what helps them feel safest and happiest. When caring for pets, I focus on keeping their routine as consistent, comfortable, and low-stress as possible. In a client’s home, I respect the pet’s normal schedule for feeding, walks, playtime, medication, bathroom breaks, and rest so they can feel secure in their familiar environment. I pay close attention to behavior, body language, and energy levels to make sure pets are comfortable and getting the care they need. I’m patient with shy or anxious animals and make sure they have space, attention, and calm interaction at their own pace. Safety and cleanliness are also important to me, and I make sure pets have a secure environment, fresh water, and plenty of attention and companionship while their owner is away.
About: I have enjoyed taking care of dogs and other pets from a young age. I like getting to know the unique qualities of each animal and enjoy providing an enriching environment full of activities for the active dog, or a quiet, calm space for the pets who take more time to settle in. Caring for, and socializing, puppies over a summer was one of the most memorable pet care times, as a family member was preparing to find homes for a litter. I'm currently off work for the summer and have lots of flexibility to care for your pets for overnight stays, walks, or drop in visits to your home. I have a fenced backyard and a park across the road with lots of walking trails around to accomodate all the needs or your furry friend. We do also have 1 friendly cat in the home.
“We just cannot thank Elizabeth (Jayne) enough for all the love and attention she gave our old boy, Jack while we were away on vacation. Jayne was happy to be in touch with us and regularly sent pics and videos. Jack doesn’t always do well without us, but he settled in quickly and absolutely loved all the walks, love and attention he got at Jayne’s house! Jack is diabetic so it was such a relief knowing that Jayne had lots of experience giving insulin too. We will most definitely be calling Jayne again! Thank you, Jayne!”

“Joanne was fantastic with our dog, Penny! She kept us updated with photos and stories throughout Penny’s stay, which gave us great peace of mind. Joanne is caring, trustworthy, and clearly loves dogs. Her family was wonderful, and Penny enjoyed lots of walks, attention, and affection while staying in their home. We’re so glad we found Joanne and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and loving dog sitter!”

Loghan too wonderful care of our puppy while we were away. He sent lots of photos and was easy to communicate with. We love that he got our puppy out on lots of walks. She came home exhausted. We will definitely book with Loghan the next time we are heading out of town. Thank you for taking such great care of River!

Brooke was terrific with our Springer Spaniel. Murphy received lots of attention, many walks and Brooke had the flexibility to spend time with him in the morning, at mid-day and evening. Murphy was very happy and content when we picked him up. I would definitely use Brooke again when needed.
I’m so grateful to have found Vanessa to look after my dog, Kenzo, for three days. She was incredibly communicative and kept me updated with regular messages and photos, which gave me total peace of mind. Kenzo bonded with her right away you can truly tell she’s loving, patient, and understands dogs. She even went above and beyond by offering pickup and dropoff, which was so helpful. I would absolutely recommend Vanessa to anyone looking for a caring and reliable dog sitter. Kenzo will definitely be visiting her again!

I would happily ask Rhonda to dog sit for me again (and I plan to!). She spent a week with my dog while I was on vacation and not only took great care of him, but my home as well - she went above and beyond. She was extremely communicative and even sent me photos while I was away and it looked like they had a great time. My dog has some trust issues and Rhonda really managed him well. He seemed to really like her and let down his guard. Thank you so much again Rhonda, you were fantastic! We look forward to seeing you again. :)

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
