“Loghan took great care of my dog and cats while I was on vacation for 8 days. He shared lots of updates and photos while I was away and was very accommodating with his timing to support my arrival home from the airport. I felt confident that my pets were in the great hands while I was away”

“Penny had the best time with Vicki and her family. She felt at home so quickly. I really appreciate Vicki’s caring nature, transparency, and flexibility. Penny loved her stay. She’s the best!”

“Once again our two Shelties had a great stay at Marie’s. They get as much exercise as they want and in between enjoy the cuddles and couch time. On this visit Holly took a swing to Bob and even met some of the animals It is a great caring environment for them. I cannot say enough about how well cared for they are and how Marie accommodates their routines and needs. Look forward to having them “visit” again soon!”
“Our dog Fudge was made to feel welcome and more. Susan was flexible, pleasant, responsive and attentive to our needs and Fudge. It was nice to see pictures of him settling in and to hear that he adjusted well. We definitely recommend her , especially for anyone who wants their dog to get personal attention. Fudge enjoyed lots of that!”

“Joanne was fantastic with our dog, Penny! She kept us updated with photos and stories throughout Penny’s stay, which gave us great peace of mind. Joanne is caring, trustworthy, and clearly loves dogs. Her family was wonderful, and Penny enjoyed lots of walks, attention, and affection while staying in their home. We’re so glad we found Joanne and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and loving dog sitter!”

“Highly recommend Anhi! She’s very caring, sent me regular updates and took good care of our senior dog Bella. She is on a special diet and has many quirks for senior lady that some may not wish to handle. Anhi fit her schedule around our last minute booking, shifted things around to accommodate us and took great care of Bella. We’re so thankful and would use her services again! Highly recommend!”

“We couldn’t be happier with the care Mahan gave our French Bulldog, Tessa, while we were away on our trip to Iceland. Leaving your puppy behind is never easy, but Mahan made the entire experience completely stress free. She was kind, reliable, and clearly treated Tessa like she was one of her own. We received regular updates that gave us so much peace of mind, and when we picked Tessa up, she was happy, healthy, and clearly very well cared for. It’s obvious that Mahan genuinely loves dogs and is passionate about what she does. Knowing Tessa was in such caring hands allowed us to truly enjoy our vacation without constantly worrying about her. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Mahan to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, compassionate, and dependable to care for their pet. We will absolutely be using her again whenever we have to be away. Thank you so much for taking such wonderful care of our sweet girl. We’re incredibly grateful, and Tessa can’t wait to come back!”

“Natasha took us last minute and was so friendly and easy to communicate with right off the bat. She couldn't have taken better care of our golden doodle. He got plenty of love and walks and we were updated with pictures and messages. Highly recommend!”

“Marta was our first sitter since moving to Peterborough and what a find! Great meet-and-greet, reliable communication and awesome updates throughout the day. My dog was in loving hands and I had peace of mind while she was in Marta’s care.”

“During a recent stay with Devin, Wendel was very well cared for. Devin was incredibly communicative throughout the stay, sending lots of photos and regular updates, which gave me great peace of mind. It was clear Wendel was having a fantastic time—they went on plenty of walks and hikes, spent lots of time outdoors enjoying the sunshine, and Wendel looked happy and relaxed in every update. I wouldn't hesitate to book with Devin again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a caring and reliable dog sitter.”

“Scott and Emily were amazing with Bailey. We received daily updates — Bailey appeared to be having the time of her life with lots of fresh air and play time. Thanks again.”

“Christine is a very warm, very friendly caring person and it was obvious from the moment she met our two dogs they would be in wonderful hands with her! One of our dogs is very shy, yet she took to Christine very quickly. Their home is perfect in terms of the layout and with a fenced back yard. Christine sent us photos over the 3 day period and is very responsive in her replies. One of our dogs is challenged to navigate stairs however Christine had a gate to prevent her from going up the stairs and potentially hurting herself. We would definitely book Christine again to care for our two dogs!!”
“Ellie instantly bonded to Rojina ( Seyyedehhosna) which put us at ease. Her daily updates including pictures showed us how happy she was and the excellent care she was receiving. Rojina's love for all animals is very evident and we would definitely recommend her to other pet owners.”

About: I have enjoyed taking care of dogs and other pets from a young age. I like getting to know the unique qualities of each animal and enjoy providing an enriching environment full of activities for the active dog, or a quiet, calm space for the pets who take more time to settle in. Caring for, and socializing, puppies over a summer was one of the most memorable pet care times, as a family member was preparing to find homes for a litter. I'm currently off work for the summer and have lots of flexibility to care for your pets for overnight stays, walks, or drop in visits to your home. I have a fenced backyard and a park across the road with lots of walking trails around to accomodate all the needs or your furry friend. We do also have 1 friendly cat in the home.
“We just cannot thank Elizabeth (Jayne) enough for all the love and attention she gave our old boy, Jack while we were away on vacation. Jayne was happy to be in touch with us and regularly sent pics and videos. Jack doesn’t always do well without us, but he settled in quickly and absolutely loved all the walks, love and attention he got at Jayne’s house! Jack is diabetic so it was such a relief knowing that Jayne had lots of experience giving insulin too. We will most definitely be calling Jayne again! Thank you, Jayne!”

“We left our three year-old retriever, Nora, with Kripa for three days. This was our first time using Rover and, honestly, I was a little nervous, leaving her with a stranger. We had a first meet and greet and all went well. In fact, I was very happy how Nora played in interacted with her dog. When I dropped Nora off, Iimmediately received photos and videos within an hour. I did not expect this to continue, but I was happy to continually get pictures and updated videos of Nora‘s integration, walks, and life throughout the three days we were away. This made myself and my kids so happy to see that we had made such great of choice of boarding. I would definitely use Kripa again. Her communication and punctuality is outstanding. Her house is very clean and she is very easy to talk with. Thank you again for taking such good care of our fur baby!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
