“Our 2 year-old dog stayed with Danielle while we visited family and we knew she was in great hands. Danielle has a great fenced area for them to run and play and she is clearly very experienced with dogs and we will readily look her up again if we need sitting in the area again in the future.”

“Ben had a great time at daycare! There was playing with other dogs, hiking, and nap time when everyone was tired. Tiana is the best at sending pics! Thanks so much for taking such good care of our boy!”

“Jonathan has become a real staple sitter for us! My dog Luna has an absolute blast and the level of care is great. She gets lots of walks, cuddles and play time with their lovely dog Indy. Jonathan is very communicative and I always look forward to the photo updates. Would definitely recommend as a sitter.”

“Kristine was so accommodating… on a last minute booking. She welcomed Ruby with lots of love and enthusiasm. She sent us photos and updates which we we loved. Ruby was well cared for.”

“Bee was absolutely great with Takaya! He and Vec had the run of the yard, were well-matched in energy levels, and Bee sent me lots of cute pics and videos of them playing and adoring each other.”

“We are so happy to have found Criofan and this beautiful farm for our pups. Leo and Millie had the most wonderful time. Criofan was easy to communicate with and sent us photos of our dogs running, playing with balls and soaking in the doggy pool. They were both so tired hahaha and happy puppers at the end of the day. We will be back for sure!!!”

“Andrea took such good care of my girl Piper. Piper can be quite anxious (and as a result I get anxious to leave her with anyone!) and Andrea was so understanding and patient with her. She sent me several updates about how Piper was doing throughout the day which I really appreciate. Would definitely recommend!”

“Bianca was great with our little guy Bruno, she was very accommodating when we had some issues with our building and had to change the schedule. She is responsive and we will not hesitate to bring our dog to her care next time we require it.”

“I felt very lucky to find a sitter that would take my pup and Tannis (and her patient family) spent quality time with my girl. Her location was perfect for me, I picked up a very happy puppy, and I could not feel more confident leaving my sweet girl in her care. Thank you Tannis!”

“Amy was SOOO accomodating! And just a friendly and caring person overall. It was my first time using a pet sitter while on a road trip to Ucluelet and I decided to try squeeze in some whale watching. Amy accepted Zoey with 1 nights notice and even accomodated an earlier drop-off because I forgot to account for the 45min check-in time for the excursion. Amy sent text & pic updates. Zoey was very well taken care of & even got to enjoy an oceanside walk. :)”

“really happy with the care my pups recieved. both are young and full of energy but came home tired amd happy. my youngest has seperation anxiety and always howls and cries when i return but she was pretty calm this time. i recieved pictures and grace even paid enough attention to notice harlow was a bit dehydrated and let me know. they were also able to book me in fairly last minute which i was greatful for. if i ever need a sitter in victoria again i will be contacting these folks first. :)”

“Linda provided amazing care for my dog! Super helpful to deal with, accommodated my busy schedule, and my dog came back happy! Thank you so much for looking after my precious pup. I feel lucky to have found you, and will definitely be back again:)”

About: I’ve had dogs my entire life and currently care for 4 cats and a dog of my own, so I understand the daily needs, routines, and personalities of different pets. I genuinely love animals and treat every pet like family. I’m experienced with feeding, walking, playtime, and giving pets the attention and care they deserve, whether they’re energetic or more relaxed. I also offer boarding in a safe, comfortable, and pet-friendly home where your pets will get plenty of attention and care while you’re away. I work part time for myself from home, so I’m able to give pets lots of attention throughout the day. My flexible schedule allows me to stay on top of feeding times, walks, playtime, and check-ins, making sure pets feel comfortable and cared for while you’re away. I have 5 acres of space for dogs to explore and play, along with a fenced play area for safe outdoor time. I also have a friendly 2 year old lab to keep your dog company. I’m able to crate dogs if needed, depending on their routine, to make sure they feel safe and comfortable while in my care.
“Such an amazing and caring family! My dog couldn't wait to get out of the car for her second day, her tail was wagging the second we pulled up. She got tons of love and endless belly scratches. Highly recommend for any pup who loves snuggles and playing with kids!”

About: I have lifelong experience with pets, and somehow they always end up choosing me as their “favorite” person in the house. I genuinely understand their personalities and form deep connections with them. I can safely administer medication, give endless belly rubs to dogs, and I know all the classic favorite spots that make cats purr. I currently work full time from home and have a flexible schedule and a Friday off every two weeks and weekends are usually available as well. I live in a pet friendly condo with a fenced dog run area and easy access to Portage Park (pet friendly park). We own two very friendly pets, a dog and cat. Our dog has diabetes so we already do many potty breaks with him a day and administer insulin shots twice a day plus a mix of home made and prescribed food as well.

- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's leash and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes

Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your North Cowichan commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in BC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
