Anna Maria came to our home to look after our 2 dogs and 1 cat. She took good care of our pets looking after feeding, walking, playing, cuddling and cleaning up. We were concerned because our senior dog, age 17, becomes stressed when we are away and needs special care. We appreciated the daily pictures and updates Anna Marie sent and could see that our pets were happy and calm with her competent care. She is reliable and trustworthy and we will be happy to hire her again.

About: I have had dogs my whole life and taken care of many dogs for friends and family while they are away. I raised my first dog (In my adult life) from a puppy, right through to his end of life. I also have cared for our current dog who we adopted, so I have had exposure with dogs that are experiencing re homing and adoption senarios. I love walking dogs and believe strongly that an active dog is a happy dog! I am currently looking to change careers to dog walking and sitting and am very flexible with schedule. I am available for walks from 7am-3:30pm weekdays and can be open to weekend walks as well. For in home sitting I am available weekdays and weekends after 6pm for over night stays. I am very flexible for check ins and supplementary visits/ walks during overnight stays. All walks and visits can be curated to most schedule needs with enough notice and communication. I take all the measures to care for your pets in the same loving secure way that I can for my own pets. I require all dogs to be leash walked until a safe trust has been created between all parties involved. Obviously all safety concerns of the client as to the care of their pet will be followed to the best of my ability and instruction.

I asked the dogs: Salsa - "Many stars! Many walks! Much fun! Cookies? Things! WHEEEEE!" Mister Bird - "All good. Got some bounces in there, hung out a lot, cruised the neighbourhood. Worked out great!" Salsa - "WHEEEEE! Cookies?" We will happily hire Shannon again.

I initially had trouble finding someone on Rover who had their calendar up-to-date, was willing to commit to my request, or would respond to my inquiries. I feel like I won the dog sitter lottery when I reached out to Jillian as she responded right away and enthusiastically committed to looking after my boy Blue. The minute I met Jillian I knew Blue was in great hands. Blue is very nervous of new people but warmed up to Jillian almost immediately as she was calm and didn’t rush the meeting…she knew what he needed right away. During the stay Jillian sent me updates, pictures, and videos which showed me how well our fur baby was doing. Jillian was very respectful of our home and left it beautifully clean when we arrived home. Blue is still looking around the place for her and is expecting more play from us as Jillian set the bar high. Where I have been nervous to go away and leave Blue in the past, I no longer worry so long as I can book Jillian to look after him. I will absolutely be booking Jillian again.

About: I've grown up with two cats in my life for basically my whole life. Throughout the years, I've done pet sitting jobs through family friends, mostly for cats. However, I'm open to anything as all animals are equally important :) I'm in university, and I'm currently not working at the moment. I'm available any time, any day. I'm quite flexible, and even if/when a job comes around the corner I could make it work also. My two cats are indoor, and we have lots of toys to occupy them. Dealing with cat litter is like second nature, so that is easy-peasy for me. I do not have any special things that I could bring with me (ex. doggie bags or a crate), however I want to make sure that the animal is comfortable.

Thank you for trusting me with your home and your beloved companions. What sets me apart? I offer dedicated, full-time care to your home and pets throughout Vancouver Island, Gulf Islands and Main Land (negotiable) AND Abroad. Two years ago, I leased out my own condo so I could be fully present and responsible to my hosts and their pets—since my availability is not due to my being on vacation in BC, I am am resident here. You basically receive a full time house sitter and pet sitter all in one. New to Rover, My prices are highly negotiable to your budget. I have many testimonials with all five star reviews, from the past 2 years prior to joining. Both short- and long-term stays, including repeat hosts. I’m always happy to share them, however, below I will share the most recent sitting; I continue to pet/house sit on a regular basis. I hope you will be my next host, here on Rover:). Here is a recent testimonial pre-Rover, for your comfort in knowing I love what I do, because it is helping you and your pet(s). Pls contact me for more testimonials in my past/current sittings. Host Name: Ian A. Feb 09, 2026 Nanaimo BC February 8th 2026 We recently invited Teresa into our home to look after our house and dog for 9 days while we traveled to Mexico. I am reluctant to provide an honest review....why?…because she will get more and more clients making it harder for us to book her on future occasions when we need her. She is quite simply amazing! Not just the fact that the house was impeccably clean when we got back.... the sheets were washed and the beds were made, the house had been vacuumed, the fridge had been cleaned ,but she even did some small gardening for us, all completely on her own initiative. We had seen reviews from some of her previous clients and I thought they were too good to be true but now we understand. You are instantly comforted knowing that she cares about your property because within the first hour of her being here, she had asked me where the smoke detectors were, did we have a fire extinguisher, and where was the main water shut off. (I don't think my own wife knows where that is! ) All things that could potentially be beneficial to know.... While we were away she communicated with us almost daily with pictures of the numerous walks that she was doing with our dog and he probably was disappointed when she had to leave because I am sure that she spoiled him completely. However he will be very happy to see her come back very soon as we are off to South Africa for 3 weeks and she will once again be welcomed in our house. We now consider Teresa not just our house sitter but a friend. She truly is phenomenal and I have no hesitation in highly recommending her services. You need have NO concerns. Ian & Dianne

We were super happy with our experience with Brenden and Brooke. Right off the bat, we could tell how much love they have for dogs. It immediately gave us peace of mind, and we truly felt safe leaving our girl in their care. They went above and beyond to make sure everything was a great fit beforehand. We met with them a couple of times prior to booking, practiced walks together, and showed them around the house. That preparation made everything feel easy and seamless when it came time for us to leave. They followed our pet care guidelines to a T and kept us updated daily with photos, which meant so much to us. It’s imperative to my husband and me that we find people we completely trust with our Rottweiler, and they were absolutely wonderful with her. They took the time to really understand her behavior and made her feel comfortable. On top of that, they left our home in great condition. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would book with them again anytime. Highly recommend!

No words can express the gratitude I feel for the special care that Tobi gave my two small dogs while we were away for a few days. Tobi has to be one of the sweetest, most caring, intuitive and professional dog lovers I’ve ever met. My boys were happy and relaxed when we returned and we will most definitely be calling Auntie Tobi every time we travel to take care of Simon and Webster. Nine million thumbs up!

About: Hey all you Pet Parents! Leaving your babies with someone you don't know can be terrifying, and to be honest, I was never able to leave my baby in a daycare - So I totally know what you are feeling right now! I will make sure they know how much they are loved, and I will always send pictures and updates to put your mind at ease! Each and every fur baby is the most special, and I always make sure they know that. My name is Hanna and animals are truly my life. I have spent my entire life spending as much time as possible with ALL types of animals. For me, growing up it was Dogs and Horses... Not only was I completely obsessed - but I was also the neighbourhood dog walker/babysitter. We lived in a fairly safe area, and most people would let their dogs have free roam. That being said, if they ever couldn't find their dogs, they were usually hanging out with 5 year old me, in my yard, or my bed. I began volunteering part time in barns and stables at the age of 7 years old. Every weekend I was taking care of all the barnyard animals, sheep, pregnant cats, injured ducks, birthing cows, nursing horses - you name it. During this time I also volunteered at the local SPCA, playing and brushing all the animals, and walking the dogs. As I grew older, I became the go-to in my neighbourhood whenever pets needed extra attention. I had two dogs on my street alone that needed regular medical support, and their owners weren't fully comfortable administering medication. One needed regular insulin injections, and one had part time subcutaneous pain management, that turned into full-time geriatric support I would help with. I was also the go-to when they couldn't take their babies on vacation with them, both in my parents house (Sorry Mom and Dad) and at their owners home. At the age of 13 I was on payroll with an elite Hunter/Jumper barn. I was part of a team that cared for 27 high performance show horses, with the most expensive horse in the barn being worth 1.2 million dollars (He happened to also be the best cuddler.) I stayed with this stable all through the rest of grade school until I went to Pharmacy school. Working with this team is still, to this day, the best working experience I have had in my life. Currently, I have the most wonderful Staffy mix, and he is truly my "soul dog". He is 8 years old and the biggest sweety pie ever, my Mother calls him "the marshmallow". We have recently signed up to be volunteers with St. John's, so that we can visit patients and eventually students who could use a dose of happiness. He loves other dogs, and kids, or anyone that will talk to him - and he will gladly share me with anyone we have in our home. I have both the passion, and the experience to give your babies not only the love they deserve, but also the care that they need while you are away, either at work or on vacation. If you have any questions at all, please reach out and I will get back to you as soon as possible! Take Care xo I own my own business so I am very flexible with time, and absolutely love being able to switch gears, get some fresh air with the dogs and give my brain a break! I am extremely professional and will follow your directions for how you’d like your dog (and me) to behave in the home - consistency is important! I have had multiple clients give me their keys or door codes to come and go with absolutely no concerns, I’m only there for your pets! My home has a very large fenced yard where your pet can safely explore to their hearts content. I am very comfortable with all animals, and am able to uphold any training regimens you may have (including e-collars, alternative collars etc)

About: I’m lucky to have two amazing dogs in my life, Luna ( a lady of a certain age! ) she belongs to my son and when she comes to me for her “holidays” we enjoy long, leisurely walks and/or a lovely swim in the ocean! And lots of cosy, curled up on the couch time. Then there’s Molly- who is a sweet golden retriever puppy belonging to my daughter. I spent a wonderful summer with Molly in tow, at just 10 weeks old, everything was new to her and delighted her. Although our walks were short, we went often and Molly made many friends in the neighbourhood! My daughter lives in the Okanagan Valley therefore, sadly I don’t get to spend nearly enough time with “our” Molly. Having said that, I do have lots of time to spend with your precious canine! I love walking and believe I would be a great companion for your dog when you can’t be there. I will strive to walk in different areas to provide visual interest to your dog and take the utmost care of him/ her at all times. I prefer on leash walks but am more than happy to play off leash games in your back yard. If your dog requires medication, I’m quite confident with that - recently Luna needed a course of injections and I was able to do that with no problems and obviously, I can feed your dog if required. At the moment I provide 2 kitties with regular overnight care and drop in visits. One of whom is diabetic & requires daily medication. I have lots of flexibility at the moment. I can offer week day and weekend service and am happy to tailor the length/ type of walk to suit your dog. I prefer to offer one on one care to deepen my bond with your dog. I am excellent housekeeper & live “lightly” in my clients homes.

Nicole took such great care of our pups while we had a trip to the mainland. She sent us the cutest updates, took them out for some great active time and snuggled them for us. It gave us such peace of mind knowing they were cared for and we could just enjoy ourselves. She left our home in spotless condition and was so sweet and communicative. 10/10 recommend!!

I left my dog Riley in Emery’s care at my house for two weeks. I will admit I was a little nervous at first because Emery is on the younger side and I had never used Rover before. My nerves settled after we met prior to the pet sitting service. She has a way with dogs and putting them at ease. Riley liked her immediately and I was impressed with her level of maturity and thoughtful questions she asked. Once away, I received daily text updates with photos. By day two Riley (who sleeps in bed with me) was nestled into the covers with Emery and I was totally relaxed knowing she was in great hands. Emery cared for her like she was her own and communicated regularly about their adventures together. She even spoiled Riley with a few new toys, which she absolutely loves! I would 100 percent hire Emery again and recommend her to others looking for pet sitting! Thank you, Emery!!

About: I’ve taken care of pets for the last 10 years for friends, family and word of mouth. I had a dog throughout my childhood and now love to fill my time with furry friends. I would love to walk, board or stay at your home with your pets. I have walked and looked after any age and any size of pets. I currently am working very part time so I have lots of time to spend with your pets. I am available all days! I have lots of time in the mornings and afternoons to take your pets out for a long walk if that’s what they want! I have a large unfenced backyard but a large deck that is closed off. There is lots of space for your dog to explore around my yard though! And I am always with them outside so don’t worry about them. I also love to stay at your place to make your pets feel at home still.

My focus is keeping your pets safe, happy and on their routines whilst treating them like family. I am happy to feed, provide fresh water and meds if required. I'm always happy to keep their tails wagging, paws moving and your mind at ease. I currently have an on call position at my job, so I have a very open schedule allowing for stayovers, walks and drop ins. My schedule is listed open all week, I just need a little bit of notice in advance. When I am with your dog/dogs, cat etc I will feed and water them, and if required give basic medications. This will be adhered to in a timely manner as discussed for your pet's needs. If you have a yard and would prefer to have them be exercised there we can play ball, or if preferred your furries can be walked. When inside, that's you and your dog's space and will be treated with utmost respect.

About: I have owned lots of dogs and cats and have experience with small caged animals as well (hamsters, mice, lizards, and snakes - both small and medium sized). I am comfortable with, and have cared for, elderly animals that have needed medication, including insulin injections for diabetes and those requiring extensive eye care. I am not a runner, but I do enjoy long walks, especially with a furry friend or two. Feel free to reach out with any questions you might have. I would love to watch your fur baby (or babies)! I am currently looking for a part-time summer job and do not have a set schedule as of now, which means I am fully available to spend as much time with your pets as you'd like! I adhere strictly to your instructions and wishes when it comes to your animals. I understand that everyone (and every pet) is different, with needs that will range across a full spectrum. I love taking photos and sending updates while pet parents are away to keep them up to date and secure their peace of mind. Communication is key, and I am always reachable, especially while caring for another's pet(s).
