Whether it’s morning potty breaks, midday walks, or evening cuddle time, I’m here and fully present. Between the two of us, your pet will never be left alone, we work together to keep their routine consistent, stress free, and full of love. Weekdays and weekends are both flexible for us, so we’re able to accommodate early drop offs & late pickups! I live in a quiet, pet friendly strata complex with a fenced grassy backyard, perfect for safe & supervised potty breaks and some fresh air. When more activity is needed, I take dogs on leashed walks in our peaceful neighborhood to give them a change of scenery and a chance to stretch their legs. Inside, there’s plenty of room for zoomies, toys, and relaxed downtime. I keep the home calm, clean, and free of hazards, and I always make sure your pet has a cozy space to feel safe and comfortable. Your dog will be supervised throughout the day and never left alone for long. I also believe that clear communication is key. I’ll always ask about your dog’s routine, preferences, and any special needs. Whether it's feeding times, potty routines, or favorite toys, I’ll make sure your pet feels right at home. Your pup's well being, safety, and happiness are my top priorities and with my son Alexander helping me every step of the way, your furry friend will always have a familiar, caring presence by their side.

“Sarah stayed with our cats and house-sat for a week during one of the hottest weeks of the summer! Not only did she take great care of the kitties, she also took treat care of the house and the gardens ensuring everything was properly maintained during our absence. We got regular updates and photos of all the cats from her, and she was very responsive to any messages sent her way. We have no hesitation re-booking or recommending Sarah for any pet parents out there!”

About: I lost my Great Pyrenees 2 years ago. Since then my girlfriend and I fostered 3 dogs for about 9 months in total. It was hard but very rewarding. I miss hanging with dogs but can’t necessarily commit to my own. I work full time but just five minutes away. My 19 year old daughter lives with me. She has a cat but they are in a separate space. I love going to for walks around the neighborhood, along the dyke, Hope Slough, or the Vedder river. I have a fenced backyard but it’s gravel, a large deck and a garden (no grass). There is grass in the front yard but it’s not fenced. Your pup would have full access to the house but there are stairs up to the main level and stairs going outside. I don’t mind having pups on the couch or my bed. I enjoy the company. My house is pretty quiet. Dogs usually like watching the squirrels and neighborhood activities from my large front window. My 19 year old daughter lives in the basement suite with her cat. She loves animals too and can help with walks and potty breaks when I am at work. I find having a dog gives me purpose and joy. I can’t commit to a dog right now so this seems like a great alternative!

It feels good knowing you don’t have to worry while you’re away. Highly recommend booking with Amanda!”

“We can't thank Christina enough for taking care of our Bernese Mountain Dog (Bailey) on our wedding day! Christina took the initiative to meet Bailey ahead of the wedding day to make sure she knew all important information and so Bailey would feel the most comfortable. She also provided us with ample updates and photos- we couldn't ask for a better dogsitter, highly recommend!”

About: We’re experienced, reliable pet sitters with a genuine love for animals of all kinds. Through TrustedHousesitters, we’ve completed around 20 sits caring for a wide range of pets - everything from tiny Chihuahuas to large Akitas, energetic puppies to senior animals needing extra patience and care. We’re comfortable with different temperaments, routines, and special needs, including administering medication and supporting older pets. Animals have always been a big part of our lives. I grew up on a farm surrounded by chickens, ducks, horses, pigs, cats, dogs, hamsters, and gerbils, so caring for animals comes naturally to me. Felipe grew up with dogs and even helped start a community initiative in Colombia to find homes for street dogs - something he’s really passionate about. What sets us apart is the level of care and attention we give. Your pet won’t just be “looked after,” they’ll be genuinely cared for, engaged with, and loved. Pet care fits easily into our daily routine because we both work and study remotely. I work 8am–4pm PST with a lunch break and flexible breaks throughout the day, while Felipe has a fully flexible self-study schedule. This means one (or both) of us is almost always available for walks, playtime, feeding, and companionship. We’re currently travelling while pet sitting and are looking for opportunities in Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley. We treat every home with respect and every pet like they’re our own. We’re experienced in: Administering medication Handling pets with different temperaments Cleaning, feeding, and maintaining routines Coordinating vet or grooming visits if needed We love staying active, so if your dog enjoys long walks or hikes, we’re more than happy to provide that extra level of exercise and enrichment. Above all, we focus on keeping your pet safe, happy, and comfortable in their familiar environment while you’re away.

What a wonderful experience to have Alex look after my baby while I was traveling. He communicated ahead of time, confirming all the details with me, was on time and helpful to get me out the door for my flight. He was wonderful and responsive to my "quirky" cat, bonding almost instantly when they met. It was clear from the pictures and communication I received while I was away that Alex "got him". My little weirdo, and Alex understood the assignment! I could not have been happier! Or so I thought....when I got home at 2am from my trip, the house was spotless, the bedding and towels were in the dryer ready to be put away, the dishes were done .... and as a bonus, I had spilled something in my fridge before I left and apologized that I didn't have time to clean it properly. Well, I came home to a CLEAN FRIDGE!!! I would not hesitate to have Alex look after my baby and my home anytime I go away! If there was a rating above 5 stars, I would have given him that!!

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Baker Trails maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Baker Trails walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Baker Trails choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
