“Carl was an exceptional dog sitter! He was incredibly easy to communicate with, always responsive, and made sure all our time requests and care instructions for Cloud were perfectly accommodated. We loved the frequent photo updates, which kept us reassured and happy seeing Cloud having a great time. It’s clear Cloud enjoyed her stay with Carl, and we’ll definitely book with him again! Highly recommend!”

“Gemma came back happy and tired. We will definitely use Julie's help again. We've also received some photo updates which was great and made us feel she is in good hands.”

“We are very happy with the services provided for our fur baby. We felt the loving care they had for our dog. We received regular, reassuring updates and photos throughout his stay. Grizzly had plenty of fun, played with their dog, and clearly felt right at home. We're so grateful for the care and love he received and will definitely be booking again”

“Asialee, Jonathan and family are amazing with my senior dog Lily. I love the feedback I receive and they are so kind and gentle I have every confidence in leaving Lily in their care. This is my second time using this family and would highly recommend them if you ever need someone to trust with your fur-baby.”

“Arshjot gave such great care to my doggie while I was away for the weekend. Drop off and pick up was easy, she communicated with me throughout my dog’s stay with her and I felt totally at ease that he was in good care. I would definitely contact Arshjot again for dog sitting in the future!”

“Shawn was incredible with our young and highly energetic puppy! He went above and beyond to work with him. Our daily photos and videos kept our minds at ease. While we were trapped with the Air Canada debacle, Shawn and his wife were flexible to help care for Paxton when we needed it most. I'd reccomend him and his family to anyone. They were fantastic and easy to work with!”

“Tucker had a great stay with Rochelle! You can tell she loves dogs and I instantly felt comfortable leaving him there. She has a big beautiful yard and I appreciated that she had a seperate (but still visible) area for him to eat and sleep. And he came back exhausted which is always the sign of a good time! I would highly recommend leaving your pup with Rochelle. :)”

“Heather was absolutely amazing from start to finish. She was very easy to work with and went above and beyond with our doggy. She treated her as her own, and kept us updated with photos and text messages.”

“Great experience! Dolly was quick to respond to our texts and sent pictures while we were away which was so nice. One of our dogs is special needs and Dolly took excellent care of her. Will definitely book with Dolly again!”

“My dog doesn’t always listen and has some dominance issues. But he respected Ryan and listened well and was able to make a friend and play with another dog. I would highly recommend Ryan”

“Paulo and Cristina were absolute lifesavers for our last-minute trip to Europe! Due to unexpected administrative issues, we couldn’t bring our dog, Mousse, and they graciously accepted to care for her for an entire month with very short notice. They provided exceptional care, sending us frequent photos and videos that kept us reassured and connected. Mousse was happy, healthy, and clearly loved during her stay. Their kindness and professionalism saved our vacation, and we will always be grateful. Highly recommend this wonderful family to anyone needing top-notch pet care!”

“Amazing care, and professionalism. Fievel was so loved and cared for, and his energetic playfulness was enjoyed instead of lamented. I knew he was safe, happy and he came home begrudgingly, quite literally crying for Nikhil as he was walking back into his home. 10/10.”

“Sheena was fabulous!!! Made us feel really comfortable leaving duchess with her (first time away from our baby) and kept us updated the whole time. I really appreciated the initial meet and greet to make sure it was a good fit. This helped us make our decision and feel good about leaving her there. I think Duchess had so much fun with them that she didn’t want to come home. Haha she needed/wanted a longer vacation with Sheena. Highly recommend!”

“Our dog has both separation anxiety and reactivity toward other dogs, which makes finding the right caregiver challenging. Ayesha was exceptionally responsive and provided excellent care, ensuring our dog was comfortable and well-supported the entire time. We’re very pleased with the experience and look forward to having her look after Diego again in the future.”

About: I've cared for dogs for over 20 years of my own. I am a big dog lover and enjoy the love and joy they bring. I have groomed and clipped nails for my own dogs. My family loves going for walks and playing at the park by our house which is a perfect place for a dog to run and play! I am a stay at home mom who homeschools her two boys. So there will be lots of time to play and cuddle with your little four legged friend. We love to be outside enjoying fresh air. We have a fenced backyard for bathroom breaks and tine outside. We have space for a crate if needed or we can place a bed in our room for your pup. We want to accommodate what's best for your dog so we're flexible in thoughts and ideas.

About: I am a dog lover, and have run, trained, and explored with dogs almost every day of my life! I have three dogs of my own, and have always had busy working dogs with me. I spend the majority of my personal time training dogs, and I have experience with reactive dogs, nervous dogs, and dogs with very, very high energy requirements, as well as your classic couch potatoes. My goal is to meet every dog where they are at and give them their very best day, whether that means taking them out on a big adventure, snuggling them, or letting them run wild on my 5 acres. I work full time as a teacher, and during the week can fit in dog walks or drop in visits in the mornings and evenings before or after work. My weekends are open to take dogs on adventures! When I am out on summer break June through August, I have full availability to wear out dogs. Dogs are always very closely supervised in your yard or mine (line of sight). We will work together to develop a plan if your dog participates in adventure days dependent on your dog’s individual needs. Options include: leash, long line, GPS collar, etc.

Ryan was AMAZING! We just had a new born and had a last minute request for him to stay with our Benji. He kept us updated with loooots of pictures, which was AMAZING! Benji came back home exhausted and happy! They went swimming, hiking and had so much fun! Thanks Ryan, Benji loved his stay with you!

Second time Frankie has stayed with Carl and everything was great. I highly recommend him to others looking for a pet sitter. It is so nice to have photos to see what she gets up to during her stay. We will for sure use Carl again the next time we need a sitter for Frankie!

Reeti took great care of my 36kg Pyrador! She was flexible with dates and time and she sent daily cute updates easing my mind. Loki had a great time with her and was well looked after. I can't recommend Reeti enough! If I wouldn't be moving away, I would for sure book her again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
