“Frank was so lovely with our dogs while we attended a wedding! He was very reliable and easy to communicate with. His love for animals was very visible. We really appreciated his regular updates and loved seeing all the videos and pictures of the dogs playing! 100% would recommend!!!”

“Michelle is the best! She’s been walking my senior dachshund who’s partially paralyzed for about a year, and has watched him for a few weekend trips away. I feel more at ease knowing my baby is being so well taken care of.”

“We just got back from a 2 week vacation in Mexico and I’m happy to write this review about our experience with Sarah! During our trip Sarah stayed in our home with our puppy Gracie and our senior cat Liam. Sarah sent us pictures every day which was so thoughtful and put our minds at ease as to what was happening at home while we were away. Gracie loved her right from the start! Unfortunately, Gracie developed tummy issues and needed to have a visit to the Vet. Sarah handled the situation like the Pro she is; Calmly, keeping us informed every step of the way. I highly recommend Sarah for any of your pets needs! Thanks Sarah your the Best 💗”
About: I’ve always been around furry companions through out. I understand the importance and peace of mind over finding a loving home for our fur babies when we are not around. I currently have a 2 year old ragamuffin cat; He’s leash trained and goes for walk with me also by riding on my shoulder. I understand the importance of enrichment and very mindful about keeping them active, trained and entertained. I have also raised 3 cats and a dog even during their senior years and litter trained their kittens as well. I live and work in Abbotsford. I’m available throughout to provide attentive care, whether it’s for boarding, a walk, a drop-in visit, or overnight stay. For boarding, to make sure the pets get along, I do have seperate rooms until they get along. For walks, I take careful precautions to keep pets safe while ensuring they enjoy a good, stimulating walk. During drop-in visits, I make sure they get attention, playtime, and care as it fits naturally into their day. I provide care in the pet’s own home, following their usual routine and engaging with them according to their activity needs.
“Aimee was such a wonderful sitter and did a great job with our kitties. She made us feel at ease while we were away, and did great dealing with our kitten with special needs. We really appreciated her communication, attention to detail, and genuine love for animals. We will absolutely be booking Aimee again!”

“Kailey was excellent at communicating, and was flexible when our plans had to change unexpectedly. She was confident in taking care of our dog-reactive dog, and happy to follow our positive-reinforcement based training plan. We were very happy to have someone we could trust with our dog!”

“Was a great experience with Sahaj, she was good with our senior reactive mastiff, she’s a big needy girl and she seemed to do great with her. Sent lots of photos and stayed with her until the end of our trip. Recommend!”

From the meet and greet, she inspired confidence as she was very sweet with the dogs and asked a lot of questions and details about their care. We felt very comfortable knowing the dogs were in good hands while we were away and will definitely book again for our future travels!”

About: Do you remember being asked what you wanted to be when you grew up? For several years, my answer was, “A kitty!” I may not have achieved that exact career goal, but I came pretty close—animals have become both my profession and a huge part of my life. I have over 20 years of experience in the pet-care industry, a Veterinary Assistant diploma, and Fear Free certification. My experience includes training puppies and adult dogs, helping condition puppies to become confident and well-rounded, assisting new mothers with their litters, and caring for senior and special-needs pets. For more than nine years, I loved and cared for a dog born without back feet who also had significant allergies. He taught me the importance of patience, adaptability, and thinking outside the box when approaching training, mobility and nutrition. My experience extends beyond dogs and cats. I’m also available to care for small animals, reptiles and amphibians, as well as provide freshwater aquarium care and maintenance. Whether your family includes paws, scales, fins or tiny feet, I’ll take the time to learn their individual routine and care requirements. I work a rotating schedule, so my availability varies from week to week. I’m available for drop-in visits and dog walks before or after scheduled shifts, with more open availability on my days off. Overnight house-sitting is also available with advance notice. I’ll review dates and timing with you before confirming a booking to ensure I can reliably maintain your pet’s routine. I provide care in my clients’ homes, where pets can remain comfortable in their familiar environment. A meet-and-greet is an important part of my process so I can meet you and your pets, learn their routine, review home access and discuss veterinary and emergency information before care begins. I follow each household’s instructions closely, respect established boundaries, and pay attention to changes in behaviour, appetite and energy. Walks are handled with safety in mind, and I’m comfortable adapting my approach for shy, nervous, senior, special-needs or reactive pets. Updates and photos can be provided so you know how everyone is doing while you’re away.
About: Animals have always held a very special place in my heart. I have spent the last 5 years not only working in veterinary medicine to further my education, but loving the pets and animals I have been lucky enough to meet. I have cared for pets belonging to family and friends like their my own, and strongly believe all companion animals deserve that same level of love and respect. I am currently working part time and have been spending my off time enjoying the routes and trails around town. I have added my grandmother’s lovely two dogs to that mix, and I’m ready to add even more furry friends to my daily walk routines I use fear free handling techniques that have been learned through veterinary medicine experience. I am able to safely fit harnesses and use leads/leashes appropriately. In the past, I have taken detailed notes of routines families use in home and outdoors for their pets.
“Lily did an absolutely amazing job of taking care of our two dogs and cat. We came home to a spotless house. The animals were so calm, we could tell they had been well loved while we were away. All communication with Lily was prompt and professional. We felt very reassured leaving her to house sit. We would rebook her in a heartbeat”

About: I have had dogs my entire life and most recently had an American bulldog mix. I have experience with reactive dogs and if you have one you can feel confident I will avoid their triggers and not put them in compromising situations. I also have experience with large breed dogs but love the smaller ones as well! I am very flexible, I can walk the same route every time or switch it up. I also love trail walks if your dog does too :) rain or snow or shine I am quite flexible with whatever your dog needs, including if they aren’t the best at walking on a leash yet! You can trust I will care and look after your dog like they are my own! I work Monday to Friday, 8:30-4:30 so can be available outside of those hours and on weekends for your pet needs! Early morning visits can be scheduled as well depending on the location. As a previous owner of a reactive dog who had many allergies, I know how anxiety inducing it can be to trust someone else with your pet! Rest assured regardless of the service being provided, I will treat your pet and their safety as my own avoiding any unsafe food, environments or triggers. This includes weather related concerns in the extreme heat or cold.
About: I take a hands on approach and will treat your pet like it is my own. I have experience with special need animals and with administering medication. I have experience with training and with dogs with behavioural issues. Currently I work full time and take my lunch break to walk my dog daily. My employer also allows for me to bring my dog to work so I could also provide constant contact with any dog I board if they are good with other people. I am very much a home body so there would little time away from your pet when they are in my care. I take the responsibility of caring for animals as if they are children and have experience of providing this care with several of my friends. I live in a condo in a neighbourhood with lots of near by areas to take dogs for walks. My building is quiet and very pet friendly. My own dog gets along well with other animals once she has been introduced properly.
About: My name is Liubov, and I'm delighted to have the opportunity to assist you with your pet's. As a pet travel coordinator at one of Canada's largest pet relocation companies, I have the privilege of working with pets every day, ensuring their safe and comfortable journey to their new destination. My passion for pets began at an early age when I had my first Siamese cat named John. Since then, my love for animals has only grown stronger, and I am dedicated to ensuring the well-being of every pet in my care. With a keen eye for detail and a nurturing spirit, you can trust that your pets are in safe and loving hands under my care. I understand that entrusting your beloved pet to someone else can be a daunting experience, but please rest assured that I am here to provide the highest level of care and attention to your furry friend. Your pet's well-being is my top priority. Typically, I work from my office during weekdays, but I'm fully available throughout the weekend. Additionally, I have ample time to dedicate to pet care during weekdays. I offer most pet care at your house when you are on holiday, with 30-minute to 2-hour walks, depending on your pet's needs. I am a very active and outdoor person, loving hiking, running, and long walking. I reside in Richmond, but I'm flexible and can accommodate walks and adhere to your specific instructions. Currently, I have a dog under my care for a month, and everything is going smoothly. I cherish the companionship of animals and prioritize their well-being. Back in Ukraine for a minute, and there I have a Labrador and a Pomeranian, whom I adore. However, they hold a special place as the king and queen of the household and stay with my parents for now, unable to travel with me. As a caring, responsible, and easygoing individual, I'm dedicated to providing top-notch care for your pets. Feel free to reach out to me for further details or inquiries. Your pet's happiness and safety are my priorities.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Abbotsford
Victoria did an amazing job taking care of my cat while I was away for two weeks! She regularly updated me on how he was doing and it was a huge comfort to know my cat was in good hands. I came home to a clean house and my cat looking happy and healthy. She was very professional and kind. I would recommend her to anyone in need of a pet sitter and reach out to her again in the future when in need of someone to take care of my cat!

Annelise was fantastic with our two cats while we were away for a week! From the meet and greet, we could tell how much Annelise cares for and loves animals. Our cats warmed up to her right away. While we were gone we got updates and pictures which let us feel so comforted knowing they were getting lots of love and attention while we were away. When we returned our cats were calm and happy, and the house was very well cared for as well. We would definitely book with Annelise again for the next trip!

Emilie is absolutely amazing!! She took an extra trip to come and meet us and our pup and is someone who my shy Aussie warmed to immediately. She sent me pictures and updates readily and I trust her entirely in our home and with our fur baby. BOOK WITH HER! We are so lucky to have her. Thank you, Emilie!!!

As of September 2026, there are 817 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Abbotsford. Enter your postal code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Abbotsford maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Abbotsford walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Abbotsford choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 85% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
