“Frank was amazing in every aspect! He took great care of our home, 2 dachshunds and our 120 lbs Neapolitan mastiff while we were on a 7 day vacation. Pictures and videos of the dogs playing with him in the back yard daily. The dogs took to him right away which is not the norm. He’s a very kind, loving person and I wouldn’t leave my dogs with anyone else but Frank moving forward. FANTASTIC SITTER!”

About: I’ve taken care of animals throughout my life and currently have 5 cats. Family, friends, and neighbours trust me to pet sit often, and I have also volunteered with an animal shelter twice weekly in the past. I work 2 days a week and take school online. This schedule is subject to change coming up as I look for a full-time job, but currently I have an open schedule. My cats are indoor, but we allow them supervised visits on the balcony as well as in the backyard (sometimes leashed.) I am adaptable and happy to give whatever care is required. I take care of my neighbours two senior pets (cat & dog) and am able to give them the specific care they need. I’m super flexible and love animals so whatever is needed, I’ll do it!
“During the time Sarah was with Louie, she provided regular updates and adorable photos, allowing me to see how much fun they were having together. It was clear that Louie was well cared for. I highly recommend Sarah to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter. I will definitely be booking with Sarah again!”

“Sarah was a great sitter for our dog Hugo. She was very professional ahead of the booking and asked us many questions about Hugo's needs, routines and preferences. It was clear from the meet and greet that Sarah has ample knowledge about working with dogs, and her calm, confident demeanour put Hugo immediately at ease. Sarah watched Hugo for 2 days at our house and provided many updates via text and photos. We were able to really enjoy our weekend away because we knew our dog and house were in great hands. We would definitely book Sarah again!”

About: I have been a dog owner most of my life but due to our travels I do not have a pet at this time. My last pet was a boxer who lived to be almost 14 years old. My neighbour had a lovely dog and she has many times referred to me as the "other Mom" and often droped her dog off if she is going out for any extended period of time even though she know the dog would be fine on her own. All my friends know I have a passion for animals and miss owing a pet very much. I am retired and did accounting for several small businesses. My husbands background is in banking and he is also retired but doing business consulting for small businesses. If I was chosen to pet sit in your home you can be assured that all would be well and your pets spoiled rotten! I consider myself a very reliable and trustworthy person and am known for my promptness. I am currently retired and spent winters in Mexico where I was voluntering at a local humane society walking, cuddling dogs and cats. I would love to look after your pets in your home or take them walking. Unfortunately no pets are allowed in my complex. I have had years of experience with cats and dogs. Very passionate with all animals. Love walking, cuddling, feeding. I would treat all as my own.
About: I have experience working with dogs of all sizes, energy levels, and personalities, and I’ve done training with multiple dogs, which has helped me build a strong understanding of behaviour—especially with younger pups. I also have a reactive dog, so I’m very comfortable reading body language, managing triggers, and creating a calm, safe environment. Because of this, I feel confident caring for dogs with a wide range of needs and temperaments. I’ve provided dog and cat sitting for many families, so I’m used to following different routines and making sure each pet feels comfortable and cared for. I know how important it is to leave your pet with someone you trust, and I always treat every animal like my own. I truly love meeting new people and their pets, and I’d be happy to care for yours! If you have any questions, feel free to reach out 😊 I am currently not working as I just finished my Bachelor's, so I have plenty of time to stop by and care for your animal(s). Since owning a reactive dog I know how important it is to have a safe & trusting environment. I also understand the importance of routine and am more than happy to help with that in anyway possible.

About: Hi! I’m a dependable and passionate dog lover who treats every pet like family. I understand how important it is to feel confident leaving your dog in someone else’s care, and my goal is to give you complete peace of mind while keeping your pup safe, happy, and loved. I currently work with a rescue out of Vancouver and have fostered many dogs over the years, including raising and caring for two litters of puppies. I have also fostered dogs who had never felt human touch, love, or even knew how to play. With patience, consistency, and a calm environment, I’ve helped them learn to trust and feel safe. One of my own dogs has played a special role in this process, helping teach foster dogs how to be comfortable, socialize, and simply enjoy being a dog. I also have two senior fur babies of my own, so I understand the extra care, patience, and attention older dogs may need. Their comfort, safety, and routine are always a top priority in my home. I’m very attentive to routines, feeding schedules, medications if needed, and any sensitivities your dog may have. Whether your dog needs walks, playtime, cuddles, or a calm and comfortable environment, I’m reliable, patient, and committed to providing the highest level of care. You can expect clear communication, regular updates, and lots of love for your furry friend. I take pride in being trustworthy, responsible, and someone you can count on. I’d love the opportunity to care for your dog and make them feel right at home! Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I work Monday to Friday during the day, but I am available after 3:00 PM on weekdays and have full availability on weekends. Caring for animals is an important part of my life, and I make sure to plan my schedule so pets receive consistent attention, exercise, and care. I’m reliable with routines such as feeding, walks, medication if needed, and providing a calm, safe environment.
About: I’m a responsible and caring nanny with hands-on experience looking after two family dogs, including daily walks and general care. I’m very comfortable with dogs and focus on keeping them safe, happy, and well exercise. I bring a calm, reliable presence and treat every dog like they’re my own. Pet care naturally fits into my routine as I work part-time and have flexible availability on weekday mornings and late afternoons, plus open weekends. I also take daily walks, making dog walking a seamless part of my active lifestyle. I strive to create a safe, calm, and positive environment, where pets feel comfortable and cared for. I follow all instructions carefully, maintain routines, and provide regular updates so owners can feel confident while they’re away. With experience caring for family dogs, I understand how important trust and reliability are when someone is looking after a beloved pet.
About: I take a hands on approach and will treat your pet like it is my own. I have experience with special need animals and with administering medication. I have experience with training and with dogs with behavioural issues. Currently I work full time and take my lunch break to walk my dog daily. My employer also allows for me to bring my dog to work so I could also provide constant contact with any dog I board if they are good with other people. I am very much a home body so there would little time away from your pet when they are in my care. I take the responsibility of caring for animals as if they are children and have experience of providing this care with several of my friends. I live in a condo in a neighbourhood with lots of near by areas to take dogs for walks. My building is quiet and very pet friendly. My own dog gets along well with other animals once she has been introduced properly.
About: Ever since I was really young, animals have been such a passion of mine! I started my own neighbourhood dog walking business when I was 7 years old and the love for animals has only grown! I am starting out on this platform to find some employment over the summer as I am a 22 year old, full time Psychology student, currently attending CBC in Abbotsford! Experience with animals has been gained through volunteering at the SPCA, Chilliwack Cat Safe Haven, Elkview Therapeutic Riding Academy, walking/petsitting my neighbours dogs throughout my childhood, and always being willing to care for a friend's dog or cat when necessary. I am reliable, a quick learner, and a great communicator! I would love to get to know your pet and their needs so that I can bring a joyful, caring, and fulfilling environment where you can feel reassured that they are in great hands! My experience has been sporadic throughout my life, investing my time more in some seasons than others, so due to this I put 5 years experience as my baseline. I have a very flexible schedule over the summer as I am off school and actively looking for work, which allows me to be available for a wide range of pet care needs throughout the week. I am able to provide daytime visits, dog walking, feeding, playtime, socialization, and consistent companionship, as well as photo updates so you can feel reassured while you’re away. Because my current housing does not allow pets, I am only able to provide overnight care within your home. This also allows your pet to remain comfortable in their familiar environment and routine. I am committed to being reliable, communicative, and attentive to your pet’s specific needs to ensure they feel safe, cared for, and loved. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and routine are my top priorities. Since my housing does not allow pets, all care takes place in your home, where your pet feels most secure and relaxed. I make it a priority to follow your instructions closely regarding feeding schedules, walks, medications, house rules, and any specific preferences your pet has. I aim to create a calm, respectful environment by maintaining your pet’s normal routine, keeping spaces clean, and ensuring doors, gates, and harnesses are always secure. I am attentive to your pet’s behaviour and well-being, and I will communicate promptly if anything seems out of the ordinary. You can also expect regular photo and message updates for peace of mind while you’re away. I treat both your pet and your home with care, responsibility, and respect, so you can feel confident they are in safe and trustworthy hands.
About: I’ve had dogs since I was child, have been a rabbit owner for over ten years, and have two cats! I grew up in a farm, so not much in the way of animals scares me! Over the summer, I’m free as a bird! Once the fall comes around, I may not be as available with school obligations, but I can always make time for a furry friend I always remain calm and quiet with animals I’m first meeting in order to build trust, and get to know them. Each pet is different, and needs different treatment and I’m happy to adjust my routine and behaviours as is needed for each little creature I care for.
“I have had such an amazing experience with Deaundra so far! She truly cares for the pets she is taking care of. Extremely flexible. Great communication. Went above and beyond caring for my kitten, Willow. Even did my dishes which is so kind and greatly appreciated. Definitely my go-to sitter!”

“Michelle was so lovely with my dog! She was so easy to communicate with and sent lots of pictures and updates throughout the day. My dog was very happy and tired when I returned home :) I would definitely recommend Michelle for any of your pet care needs!”

“Aimee did such an incredible job as our house/dog sitter! We felt sooo comfortable with her and she took really good care of our dogs while we were gone. We would highly recommend her and hopefully she will be available the next time we go away ;)”

About: I’ve always been around furry companions through out. I understand the importance and peace of mind over finding a loving home for our fur babies when we are not around. I currently have a 2 year old ragamuffin cat; He’s leash trained and goes for walk with me also by riding on my shoulder. I understand the importance of enrichment and very mindful about keeping them active, trained and entertained. I have also raised 3 cats and a dog even during their senior years and litter trained their kittens as well. I live and work in Abbotsford. I’m available throughout to provide attentive care, whether it’s for boarding, a walk, a drop-in visit, or overnight stay. For boarding, to make sure the pets get along, I do have seperate rooms until they get along. For walks, I take careful precautions to keep pets safe while ensuring they enjoy a good, stimulating walk. During drop-in visits, I make sure they get attention, playtime, and care as it fits naturally into their day. I provide care in the pet’s own home, following their usual routine and engaging with them according to their activity needs.
The median cost per night for house sitting in Abbotsford is $50
Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Abbotsford
We couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter!! Victoria and Kurtis took such amazing care of our dog Willow. It was clear from the daily updates, photos and happy demeanour that she was loved and well cared for. Their kindness, patience and genuine love for animals gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. We came home to a happy and content Willow and couldn’t be more grateful!! Highly recommend! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Emilie is absolutely amazing!! She took an extra trip to come and meet us and our pup and is someone who my shy Aussie warmed to immediately. She sent me pictures and updates readily and I trust her entirely in our home and with our fur baby. BOOK WITH HER! We are so lucky to have her. Thank you, Emilie!!!

Kaitlin was incredible right from the initial meeting. She came to meet my dog, but even gave my kitties some snuggles while we were chatting. She has really great energy. Very calm. Kaitlin was good about communication and made sure that our pup was well loved!

Mani stayed at our home with our fur babies for 9 days in July this year while we were on vacation and we were so happy with her services. Canelo and Monroe felt loved and cared for just as if we had never left. Mani was attentive to both our babies. Canelo our dog is a lot of dog to handle as well as he is anxious when I am not around and needs a lot of attention.

FAQs for House Sitting - Abbotsford
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Abbotsford on Rover is $51.06 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 827 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Abbotsford. Enter your postal code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Abbotsford maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Abbotsford walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Abbotsford choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 85% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
