“Paula was amazing with our animals and her communication was excellent. It’s obvious she’s very comfortable with pet care, easing my mind so I could enjoy my vacation. We will definitely use her for future pet sitting!”

About: I have been taking care of the animals of close friends and family since I was 19 years old. In addition to taking care of cats and dogs, I am also an experienced farm hand. I have taken care of horses, chickens, donkeys, and Alpacas. Whatever your pet needs are, I can do it. I am currently doing volunteer work on Tuesdays, but am available every other day of the week. Early mornings and afternoons work best for me, but I am available later in the evening when needed I can do feedings, walks, drop ins, and full night stays. I can also administer oral medication. I have a dog of my own and she gets daily medication I give her myself.
“This was our first time using Rover. Crystal made our experience so easy and answered all of our questions. Crystal was very patient and kind to our fur babies . She went above and beyond our expectations and I am so thankful we found her!!”
“Ashanti was so kind and flexible with our last-minute pet sitting request! She took time out of her holiday weekend to take care of our fur babies while we were gone, and she went above and beyond to make sure they were cared for. She was great with our pets, too. Our dog loved the extra attention!”

“Very kind, easy to communicate with. Great friend for our Boone while we were away! So grateful. I returned home early and they were quick to respond to the changed reservation.”

About: I’ve been working with pets ever since I was 12 walking them feeding them and taking care of them. I love taking care of pets no matter if it’s cats or dogs I love them all. I am currently working part-time and also a part-time student but I love being outside and going on walks with dogs and taking care of cats just by stopping. I have a pretty decent backyard that is fully gated off and I have two amazing and playful dogs yo-yo and Scooby. They are the cutest dogs ever and another small little furball named Cleo and she is just so adorable.
“Jessica went above and beyond taking care of our senior dog over a holiday weekend! She made sure that she had food (even opening our automatic dispenser to be sure), topped up her water, played a ton of fetch with her, and even wiped out her ears when they were bothering her. The whole time, she kept us up to date of what was going on, was on time, and was very respectful of our property. Will definitely use her services again. Thank you so much!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats of every kind since I was a teen. I currently volunteer at the animal shelter and pet-sit for friends and family when needed. I currently work from home with flexible hours so I am able to accommodate your schedule and your dogs needs whether that’s going on walks or general care. I live in a dog-friendly community with ample space and dog parks for your fur baby to run around! I can crate your dog if needed.
“THE BEST CAT SITTER!! Clio loves her so much and she always spends quality time with Clio when she visits. She also sends great pics that make my heart happy🥰. Always quick to respond. Highly recommend!!”

“Lina is amazing and took great care of my pets! She responded quickly and made sure to check in with me about what my cat and dog needed before the visit. She is amazing, highly recommend.”

About: I’ve always had a dog growing up. Dogs are life companions! I’ve taken care after my own dogs of course and family members as well. I’m the first person they call to see if I’m available to watch over their fur babies. I tend to make friends with dogs at a function quicker than I do with humans. I take care after my own animals through sickness and health and try to give them the world. They deserve the best! I am free during the week and weekend. Reach out at anytime and we can work out whatever you need for your fur baby/babies. I take care of any fur baby as if they are my own ! Depending on the owners wants and needs for their pup I will always do my best to do what they want for them.
“I couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter! Matisa was professional, reliable, and genuinely cared about my dog. Matisa provided regular updates and photos, which gave me complete peace of mind while I was away. It was clear my dog was happy, well cared for, and received plenty of attention and affection. I came home to a relaxed, healthy pup, and I wouldn’t hesitate to book with Matisa again. Highly recommend Matisa to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and caring to watch their pet!”

About: I have two dogs and a cat myself. I have always taken care of pets since I was little. I love going on walks and playing. I am currently a full time employee but I have free time on the weekends and after work to provide care to any age pets. I have a fenced in yard with two very friendly dogs and a cat who sleeps all day. I am very good about getting pets out for bathroom breaks and getting their energy out.

About: I treat every pet like family and make sure they feel safe, loved, and comfortable. I am dependable, patient, and attentive to each dog’s unique needs. I enjoy walks, playtime, and keeping pets happy while their owners are away. I also provide updates and photos for peace of mind. Pet care is a natural part of my routine. Every day I dedicate time to feeding, walking, exercising, and giving pets attention and companionship. I enjoy caring for animals and make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for. I provide a safe, loving, and clean environment. I make sure they are fed on schedule, have fresh water, get exercise and playtime, and receive lots of attention and care. I also follow each pet’s routine and any special instructions to help them feel comfortable and happy.
“If you are looking for dependable, trustworthy and accommodating, Arianna is the right choice! She takes great care of our Golden, and she goes above and beyond. Glad we found her and we would recommend her to those that care the most for their pets.”

“Husband and I had to leave town for a week to take care of family. We had two cats that needed to stay home. Liv was great with our boys! We could tell she really cares about them and took the time to give them some love on her visits. Also appreciated that she was available on short notice, even to include a holiday weekend. I would highly recommend her and hope she can cat sit for us again someday.”

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
