“Rachel is the best cat sitter! She is so communicative and is able and happy to deal with my quirky cats! They can be timid with new people but they have liked Rachel from the start. I will always use and recommend Rachel!”

“This was our first time having Jeffrey do drop ins for our three wild kids and he was AMAZING! Great communication, super professional, loved on our doggos just like we would!”

“Kyla did a great job looking after my cats. It was easy to set things up, she arrived as scheduled, communicated well throughout, and my cats liked her too.”

“This was our first time using services through Rover and we are so glad we did! Cat was absolutely amazing through the entire process keeping us well informed at each drop in. She was incredibly patient with our fur babies and their unique personalities, even befriending our shy boy in record time. Thank you so much, Cat!”

“Elizabeth is so great with my dog! She is very responsive, friendly, and I knew he was in good hands. Will definitely be reaching out again in the future :)”

“Thank you Maria and Luis for watching Neyland and Nala while I was out of town! I booked them a few days prior because my dog contracted kennel cough from daycare. Maria did a meet and greet with me, took Neyland outside 3 times a day, and gave him his food with medications. Neyland is reactive with people and dogs but they handled him wonderfully! Thank you guys :)”

“I’m never using anyone else! Tyler has a genuine love and passion for animals that shows in her visits and when she hosts. You won’t just get pictures of your dog playing in backyard - she actually spends time with your pup”

“Jordan helped me with my dog last minute and has great communication, service and dependability. I felt very comfortable having her care for my dog and she did a great job w/ everything. Highly recommend!”

About: I'm officially back and excited to work with new clients! What really sets me apart is my genuine love for animals of all shapes, sizes, and personalities. Through my volunteer work with rescue organizations, humane societies, and wildlife rehabilitation centers, I've learned to connect with pets who might be shy, anxious, or just need a little extra patience. I'm especially comfortable with senior pet care (thanks to my own elderly cats), medication administration, and working with special needs animals. My late staffie rescue taught me that the most misunderstood dogs often make the most loyal companions, so I have a real soft spot for bully breeds and "difficult" cases. I've also got experience with puppy energy management – I can tire out even the most determined zoomie sessions! Friends joke that I'm a "cat whisperer," though I'll admit one particularly stubborn feline took me 15 years to win over. Whether your pet needs gentle senior care, high-energy adventures, or just someone who won't blink at their quirky habits, I'm here for it. No creature is too unusual – I've cared for everything from traditional pets to more exotic companions! After leaving academia to pursue my passion for writing and art, I've discovered the joy of a flexible schedule. I spend most of my time outdoors anyway (turns out fresh air is much better for creativity than stuffy lecture halls), so having some four-legged companions along for the adventure sounds like a no-brainer. Plus, I've learned that pet adventures are the perfect antidote to writer's block. I believe every pet deserves to feel safe and loved while you're away. I'm experienced with administering medications, maintaining routines, and reading those subtle pet signals that tell you when something's not quite right. My own little crew includes two senior cats (14 and 17) and a wonderfully patient yellow lab who's basically a gentleman and a scholar. One of my cats has special needs, so I'm comfortable with medical care and know how important consistency is for our furry family members.

“Riley was an awesome find. We are new to the Williamsburg area but have used Rover in the past and had a trusted pet sitter that we loved and now looks like we have found one here in Williamsburg. Riley sent great recaps and super pictures after each of her visits. You could tell all of our pets (even our cat that does not like strangers) were very happy to see her and hang out at each of her visits. She communicated well with any changes or concerns and just put our minds at ease that our pets were well taken care of while we were away. I would highly recommend Riley for cat, dog or both care”

“I highly recommend Kay as an excellent cat-sitter! My grumpy cat was obviously comfortable with Kay from the start. I really appreciated receiving pictures and short commentary on their time together while I was away! Also, Kay approached all aspects of booking and logistics professionally and with good cheer.”

“Alexander was awesome! My silly, hyper pup warmed up to him well and he made sure my big oy was taken care of without any deviations from our routine. I will be planning on booking Alexander soon!”

“Ashley was amazing!! She sent lots of cute pics of the kitties and sent a nice note of everything she did while she was there!! Will definitely book with her next time!”

About: Hi, I'm Miki! I've had dogs my whole life, and adopted one of my very own (Scout) about 4 years ago! With several years of personal and professional experience, I'm confident I can provide a happy and safe space for your pet. :) As a dog owner, I know how hard it can be to find someone you trust with your pet, and my goal is to give my client's peace of mind knowing that their babies are being cared for just as I would my own dog! At the moment, I only host one dog at a time to make sure they get my full attention (or two from the same household). I have a ton of experience and knowledge with dogs, but particularly anxious/reactive dogs and am always happy to accommodate any special needs/requests. I work from home a few days a week and have an open weekend schedule, so Scout and I would love having another friend around to keep us company! We typically go on a minimum of 3 walks a day (morning, afternoon and night) for anywhere from 20 minutes- 1+ hours. Between walks, I have plenty of toys and mentally stimulating gadgets that Scout would be happy to share. :) While I don't have a yard, my neighborhood is the perfect dog-friendly spot with lots of trails, streams and parks! If your dog is hanging with us, you can expect an itinerary full of very dog centered activities (as usual) haha. I'm experienced working with low and high energy dogs and more than happy to follow your dogs typical schedule- whatever that may be! To maintain safe and calm environment for all pets, I do require that dogs are crate trained and feel comfortable being crated if I need to leave the house for a short time.

“Anna is a great communicator and genuinely seems to care about my animals. I feel really secure with her watching them (2 cats, some fish). She was super easy to work with!”

About: I have experience with large dogs (85lbs+) to small dogs (10lbs-), Cats & kittens, and senior animals. Animals in recovery. Reptiles, rodents to fish. Any animal you name it!! I’m a very active person and love being outdoors, would love to have a cutie fur buddy to join me and explore RVA! Would love to care for yours like my own <3 I go on daily walks and live very very close to a huge public park! I’m able to do daily drop ins, over night stays or whatever your needs may be!

“Being away from my furbabies is always stressful. Nicole was able to ease my stress with her excellent care of my 3 furbabies. One super senior on lots of meds and the other two prior feral makes them not the easiest to care for. Nicole did great with walking, feeding and any special needs that occurred. I will use Nicole again should I need to travel without my furbabies.”

About: I'm a professional dog trainer, and I've been working with animals professionally for over 10 years, and I have had dogs and cats in my family ever since I was born, and grew up training and walking them. I have had the pleasure of having two golden retrievers, a border collie, and now I have a 4 year old black lab named Rosie, and tortoiseshell cat who acts like a dog. Even though I train dogs and their humans, I walk dogs as supplemental income, and I would love to meet your little (or big) bundles of joy! I’m currently self-employed, so my schedule varies. But I am typically available on Mondays and Thursdays, but I will update my schedule weekly or monthly to reflect what my schedule really looks like. I have the experience to exercise dogs who are a little more on the high-energy side, or dogs who just want to sniff everything outside for a while and then get some pets and snuggles.

“You won’t find a better person to care for your pet than Miki. She is reliable, compassionate, and incredibly thoughtful. Miki recently looked after our dog, Kona, and made sure she wasn’t just watched, but rather genuinely cared for while we were away. It’s one thing to have someone watch your pet, but it’s something entirely different to have someone treat them like their own. That’s exactly who Miki is. We can’t recommend her highly enough!”

Laura F.
“Laura would make a fantastic addition to the Rover team. I'm sure all of the people who apply for this say they are animal lovers but how many can say that they have extensive, professional experience in the care and training of animals ranging from dogs, cats, birds, pigs, mini horses, porcupines, seals, sea lions, turtles, and even dolphins?!? Also, Laura has multiple years of experience working with, and caring for animals at places like Mystic Aquarium, New York Aquarium, and Dolphin Quest-Bermuda and in addition to those years of experience she has a true animal lover at heart that will make the needs and care of any animal in her care her top priority.”
Broad Rock pet parents share their Rover experiences
Jordan was the absolute best pet sitter for our kitties and turtle. We were worried about leaving our 3 month old kitten but Jordan made sure she was well taken care of and sent the best update pictures and recaps for each drop in. We will definitely be hiring her again soon!

Rachel was a godsend! She was sooo good with my 2 babies (cats) she automatically connected with my male cat, my female is very skittish, but Rachel knew what she needed to, T L C❤️ My plans, if she is still interested in next year, I would love for her to be able to come visit with my cats for a week again

Emily was amazing! She was very communicative and FaceTimed with us before we left to make us comfortable. She sent us great pictures and was able to get our very shy cat to love her. Highly recommend if you want someone to care about your cats like they are their own!

Brenna did an amazing job of checking in on my cat T. Rex while I was out of town! She was a great communicator and super flexible with my traveling times. I would 100% recommend her to other pet owners and am sure I will reach back out next time I need a drop-in again!!

Joy is such a wonderful pet sitter! I was so relieved when joy accepted to pet drop in on my hound and cats. Very attentive and responsive. Loves spending time with animals and is a comfort to have looking after your pets! Perfectly on time and doesn't over stay. I trust her 100% with my fur babies. Absolutely will be booking again!

Kaleb saved the day by sitting our kitty pretty last-minute! He was really communicative and put our minds (and hers) at ease even though she was a bit anxious and in a new home. We definitely appreciated the time and care he took with her along with all the photos and updates.
