Brandon was great! He came to meet us beforehand to make sure we were comfortable. Booch immediately loved him. While we were away he was extremely communicative and sent lots of pictures. The house was also well taken care of. We would definitely hire him again!

About: I was raised with dogs and have been working as a pet-sitter and dog-walker for neighbors and family friends since I was about 12. I have some experience with pet training, lots of experience with dog walking and pet-sitting, and TONS of experience with pet-loving! I will be working as a counselor at a day camp this summer from 9AM to 4PM during weekdays. I’m happy to come take your pet for a quick walk during my lunch break, and any longer walks/stays will be before and after the camp day starts, overnight, or on weekends! I love to play with, walk, and generally be best friends with animals! I usually have some schoolwork to do and am always happy to keep your pet company while I do it. Your pup deserves love and attention even when you’re not home!

Jennifer was very communicative with me while watching our 15yr old Welsh Terrier. She was accommodating to his mobility challenges and always made sure he got his meds, water and ample outside time. We’ve already scheduled our next house sit!

I work Monday through Friday 8am-5pm. I live very close to work and get to go home to walk/ feed my own dog during my lunch time. I have availability Wednesdays and Fridays during 12-1pm to drop in/ walk/ feed your pup! After 5pm I walk my dog again and have availability to also walk/ stop in/ feed yours as well. I don't work weekends and have full availability to be with your pet as needed. Starting October 2026, I'll have availability for Tuesdays, Thursdays and weekends for all services + boarding. Proof of updated vaccinations will be required as I need to protect my own pets as well! I have a fenced in yard and very friendly dog who loves to play and relax with other dogs or cats! My dog gets home cooked meals that are prepped for him to last all week. He also gets kibble mixed in! He loves daily walks/ drives and fresh water! I will make sure your dog also gets walks, food and potty breaks or drives if they love drives! My cat is very social and friendly as well, she tends to be more independent and changing her litter, feeding her fresh food and fresh water for her daily is very important. Cats can be very particular with their water, food and playtime and I will make sure to follow that for your cat.

My dog just went through a few stressful events that has made him very anxious around strangers but he was very comfortable with Joe. We did a meet and greet before booking he did not show signs of anxiousness; in fact he took to Joe immediately licking him on his face. Joe then watched him all day on back to back days over the weekend which went very well. My dog was relaxed all day and did not have any issues. Joe is very flexible, priced extremely reasonable and I look forward to using him again in the future.

Brittany watched our dog, Luna, for a full week while we were away. Luna can be insecure and protective and doesn’t always warm up easily to new people, but Brittany went above and beyond to make sure she felt comfortable. She came over several times before the booking to get to know Luna, which made a huge difference. While we were away, Brittany sent plenty of photos, bonded beautifully with Luna, and even brought in our mail and packages. She is a wonderful find for anyone who wants peace of mind knowing their pet is truly well cared for.

About: I’ve worked under great trainers in daycare settings. I’ve worked with many different breeds and learning how to redirect bad behavior into positives. I’ve worked with boarding for older dogs and have become familiar with different medications as well as being able to administer them. I have experience with a company that did drop ins, house sittings, & dog walks. i dont have a set schedule until June 8th. I've been working with dogs for many years & this job that i will be in is not in the dog field. I want to fit in dog walks in any way i can to grow my personal doggy business (: Dogs are my passion. I make sure to be very well informed of any medications, any reoccurring behaviors so I am fully prepared to assist with your pet. I’m respectful of your home & will be spending the best time with your pet! If you are looking to reinforce any training I’d like to know, to help with that process. I’d like to be aware of any allergies in case I have treats (: However I can help with your pet, it’ll be a pleasure! (:

About: I've owned and cared for animals my whole life, from cats and dogs to snakes and chinchillas. My fur babies are everything to me - I even have them forever tatted on me! My current English bulldog, Stella, is half-blind and all crazy. She is a protector and lover of my two girls, who have known and grown up with animals their whole lives. While a sweetheart, she remains separate from my boarded friends. I have experience caring for senior animals, shy and timid babies with, and large breed guardian dogs. I also enjoy volunteering at two of our local animal shelters and am raising a future veterinarian. I believe animals are the purest form of love and require nothing less in return. Whether my own or yours, you can trust that I'll care for them all the same ♥️ I'm available most days of the week and weekends. Pet care and motherhood are my full-time roles, and my daughter may often accompany me on my walks. My home has large yard and a separate family area where my boarded friends can have their own quiet, private space to hang out with me: hang on the couch, watch TV, or play outside. I have a large crate if needed and plenty of space.

Brandon is amazing! He took care of our two dogs in our house on the Fourth of July and both were so content & happy afterwards. Our one dog has separation anxiety and she bonded to Brandon right away, acting very relaxed during his visit. Brandon has great communication ---from booking to pre-arrival to throughout the visit---we received many updates and photos. We highly recommend Brandon for attentive and dedicated dog care!

Maria did an excellent job caring for our complex brood of 4 animals. Some don't get along, some need meds, one is a puppy that is slow to warm up and she handled them all with confidence and ease. She communicated daily with photos and updates and I was never worried about their welfare. We will definitely be booking again!

FAQs for House Sitting - Briarcliff Manor

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Briarcliff Manor on Rover is $38.85 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 17,333 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Briarcliff Manor. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Briarcliff Manor walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Briarcliff Manor maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Briarcliff Manor choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Briarcliff Manor. On Rover:

  • 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
