About: I grew up on a farm in Cambria/Lockport, NY and have been surrounded by animals my entire life. Caring for animals has never been a job to me, it’s just how I was raised. Growing up, I helped care for 50 baby calves, 2 horses, 18 cats, 8 dogs, a miniature goat, and over 1,000 exotic birds and parrots since my mom was an exotic bird breeder. I’m comfortable with dogs and cats of all sizes, personalities, and energy levels, including senior pets, shy pets, and high energy dogs. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet because I feel the exact same way about my own little dog, Bambi, who is spoiled and loved like family. I’m dependable, patient, attentive, and genuinely enjoy spending time with animals. Whether your pet needs walks, playtime, cuddles, medication reminders, or just someone calm and caring around them, I will treat them like they’re my own. I currently have a flexible schedule and am available for dog walks, drop in visits, potty breaks, feeding, playtime, cat care, companionship visits, and overnight in home stays while owners are away on vacation. I understand that pets thrive on consistency, attention, and comfort, and I truly enjoy spending quality time with animals throughout the day. I am dependable, communicative, and willing to work with different schedules whenever possible to help pet owners feel comfortable knowing their pets are being cared for like family. About: Hi, I'm Sarah, your local full-time petsitter! I've been a volunteer at a no-kill animal shelter since 2013. I've handled animals of every size and disposition with love and care in my time volunteering. I've been pet sitting independently since 2017, starting with a household of nine amazing fur and feather babies . I've worked with senior animals and those with special needs, caring for their unique physical and emotional needs when their parents are away. I've had practice giving medications orally, in-ear, subcutaneous injections, and am capable of following detailed instructions. I've been pet sitting through Rover since 2020, and I've also photographed pets professionally for several years, having worked with many different types of animals with patience and care. Besides all that, I was a cat mom for seventeen years and loved every second of it. CATS ARE WELCOME TO EVERY SERVICE I PROVIDE. I only book one family at a time, so there are no conflicts with other animals. I've always had an affinity for caring for animals and will always do my best to make sure they are comfortable, healthy, and happy. UPDATE for 2022: At this time I am no longer accepting new boarding appointments. I have however kept boarding open as an option so that new clients can find me. I know some families are skeptical of having someone come and stay at their home, but I find this is the best option for the welfare of the animals. If you are looking to board, but would be open to housesitting, please read my reviews (mostly gained from housesitting) and get in touch so we can set up a meet and greet. I look forward to hearing from you! DROP-IN Requests can be scheduled for up to 2 hours at the listed rate. Please message me with the details of your request if you would like longer than the standard 30 minutes. Notice of rate increase: As of February 1, 2025, single pet rates will be increasing from $65 to $70 in order to keep up with inflation. Multi-pet rates and drop-ins will remain the same. If you have booked with me already or have a booking pending, your rates will not go up for those bookings. Thank you for understanding, and thank you for being part of my Rover family! Since early 2020, I have made petsitting my full time career. I typically take one client at a time in order to provide the best care possible for animals that may struggle with separation anxiety or have set routines that their parents would prefer they keep while away. When I take a job caring for an animal, they become my priority. When I sit for a client in their home, their pet's environment, I dedicate the utmost respect to privacy and personal space. It's my job to care for an animal and I do that by observing their behavior, fulfilling their needs, and offering affection to the degree they are comfortable with; whether that's waiting for a shy animal to come to me for a sniff or to be pet, or an animal which has no concept of personal space at all (not an issue for me, I love cuddlers!). As for your home, I love to have a tour during meet and greets and get to know what rooms are accessible to me as a guest. I am very respectful of other people's homes and belongings and will always ask first if there's something I can't find or unplanned that I need to access during my stay. I pride myself on being trustworthy and tidy.

About: I’ve had dogs all my life and know how important it is to keep their body and mind active. I walk my two dogs daily and have experience with many dog related issues. I also host a dog play group. I’m dependable, hard working, responsible and caring and I want to help dogs stay active in a safe, consistent, fun environment. I currently make my own work schedule so my dog walking availability is flexible. Weekend and holiday availability is possible. I can make various days/times work and keep a set walk schedule or drop in last minute. My two dogs have full yard and house access with daily walks and multiple play sessions every day. About: I've always had a passion for animals since I was very little. I was never able to have them of my own growing up because my dad was highly allergic. Once I graduated high school I moved out and rescued my first dog from a backyard breeder. He was a Pit-bull mix. 4 months later I rescued my golden saint from a hoarding situation which ended up in all of her animals getting taken away. I realized I wanted to help save more animals so I ended up becoming a foster mom. My first foster was a 7 year old Rottweiler named Sabrina. I only had her a short 3 months before I was told she had a stomach tumor that was not curable. I unfortunately made the decision to get her cremated and the last words I said to her was " I promise I will save as many animals like you as I possibly can." I kept that promise to her after 8 years already and plan to for many many more! Fast forward to today, i suddenly lost my soul dog in January 2026 but still have my golden saint and a Catahoula Leopard dog. He was my first foster fail 6 years ago. I wanted to extend my experience even more so now I pet sit/dog walk as well! I am experienced with senior dogs, puppies, aggressive dogs as well as dogs with high anxiety I have taken care of all sorts of animals such as hamsters, Guinea pigs, birds, snakes, miniature pigs, and of course cats and dogs! I treat every animal like my own and I guarantee I will become their best friend! My goal is to eventually own a building and name it in Sabrina's memory:) I am available for in home stays in your own home, overnights, drop ins, and dog walks on week days and weekends. If you see a date that is marked unavailable please still reach out to me as I might have some spots open or a last minute cancellation for those days. It is first come first serve so book while the dates are still available! In home/overnights- This includes play time, bathroom breaks, food and water replenishment, medication administration, baths if needed, walks, picture/video updates, and lots of snuggles! Drop ins- This includes food and water replenishment, bathroom breaks and a little bit of play time! Dog walking- I offer 1/2 hour walks and 1 hour walks

About: Hi my name is Samantha, I have a home I share with my toddler son and we have 1 pup. We have our 10yr old small spaniel mix, Daisy, that I’ve adopted from Texas. She gets along well with other dogs & loves to play. It was apparent that she never experienced her puppy days before our family took her in. I've had her for 8yrs now and she has become so comfortable and happy in her forever home with us and is very active. She loves to go out on walks and is an even better snuggler. I have had animals my entire life so I love to play, walk and go for runs with them. They have free-roam of the house and the fenced in back yard, and I'm ok with them on my furniture. My dog loves to walk when we can get out, but if not, she loves playing outside before I leave for work and as soon as I get home she runs the back yard. I work during the day M-F, however I work from home 2 days/week. I typically spend my nights home. I am in the military reserves so 1 weekend a month I am away from my home and try not to accept sitting during those long days. I would like more company for my dog as we recently lost her older fur-sister, this has been a transition for us all losing our sweet girl. I have plenty of toys and treats, and I ensure dogs always have free roam of our space. I would just ask that I'm made aware of any restrictions, allergies, behavior issues, etc. ahead of time. I will make sure your dog has the best service and attention in my home and will keep you up to date with their activities by texting pictures and video's through out their stay if you ever wanted! I work M-F, mix-matched teleworking days (flexible). I get up in the morning to let my dog play in the back yard, then she eats before I leave for work. We like to play in the back yard every 1-3hrs and we take breaks frequently so there would be some indoor and outdoor exposure for daily play (weather pending). My yard is fully enclosed so I like to bring my dog out with me to play, sniff, lounge and anything else. I have an outside pool that is for dogs so they can get water, play in it or lay down to cool off whenever they’d like. I have a fenced yard and a friendly fur baby to play with. I also have 2 crates available as needed if it’s a preference of yours. In your home, I can follow any instructions left to make sure your fur-baby feels as comfortable as possible at home in their space without you there.

“Elisabeth was a great sitter. We booked her for our two cats and also for some indoor and outdoor plant watering. She was timely, responsive, and took care of pets and home. We had a fluorescent light randomly break (or maybe not randomly considering cats lol) in the basement and she let us know immediately and also took the extra step to clean it up. Would recommend!”

About: I’ve always been the person my family and friends went to and trusted to watch after their furry ones while they were away. I’ve grown up with both cats and dogs my entire life, and caring for animals has always been a huge part of who I am. I currently have five pets of my own: three cats and two dogs, and they truly mean everything to me. Because of them, I understand just how important it is to find someone you can trust to care for your pets like family. During my junior and senior years of high school, I attended Harkness BOCES for Animal Science, where I gained hands-on experience in grooming, safe handling and restraint, CPR, medication administration, and understanding animal behavior, along with many other essential skills. I’m currently continuing my education in animal health and behavior to build a career dedicated to caring for animals and being their voice. I’m comfortable administering medications as needed and have experience working with pets of all ages, sizes, and breeds. Whether your pet needs extra patience, playtime, or specialized care, I’m here to provide a safe, loving, and attentive environment. I'm currently a full-time student so my schedule is very flexible and I'm more than willing to easily fit pet care into my weekly routine. I take the safety and boundaries of the pets and clients very seriously. I will follow any safety procedures the owner may have for me. Whether that may be crating their animal at night time, keeping them close on their leash during walks, watching them play in the backyard, anything that is expected will be done.

About: My lifelong hands-on experience and genuine love for dogs. I’ve been caring for my own dogs since I was 10 years old, which has taught me responsibility, patience, and how to understand different dog personalities and needs. I’m comfortable working with puppies and reinforcing basic training like leash manners, crate routines, and positive behavior habits. I’m also attentive and gentle with senior dogs, making sure they move at their own pace, stay comfortable, and get any extra care or patience they may need. Pet care fits naturally into my weekly routine, even as a full-time student. I’m organized with my schedule and intentionally leave open time between classes and in the afternoons to walk and care for dogs. Being active and spending time outdoors is already part of my routine, so dog walking blends perfectly into my day. Pet care isn’t something I squeeze in — it’s something I genuinely enjoy making time for. When caring for pets in my client’s home, I prioritize keeping their routine as consistent as possible so they feel safe and comfortable. I follow all instructions carefully — including feeding schedules, walk times, playtime, and any special care needs. I make sure they get plenty of attention, exercise, and affection while also respecting the home and keeping everything clean and organized.

Gina was excellent. She went beyond what I would expect. In addition to the daily feedings and litter pan maintenance, she offered to take out our kitchen garbage when it started to stink up our home while we were on vacation. She also let me know when one of the cats had gotten sick on our carpet, and she offered to clean it for me with our carpet spray. She brought in our packages while we were gone, too! That was not necessary, but of course it was appreciated! I loved that she sent us photos of the cat routinely. It was reassuring to see that they were doing well. I would highly recommend Gina. She was reliable and took the task seriously.

FAQs for Pet Sitting - Bowmansville

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.

Before booking, confirm:

  • the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
  • the care instructions the sitter should follow;
  • which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
  • how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.

Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .

sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
