Matthew is a grad student and Mary Beth works from home in finance, so we're both available throughout the day for walks, drop-ins, or overnight care. We love walking and biking around the West End of Hartford, but we do have cars for extra flexibility. Your pet's safety and comfort are our top priorities. When house sitting, we follow your routine closely to keep things familiar and stress-free for your pet. We’re respectful of your home and aim to leave it just as we found it—if not better. For dog walking, we use secure leashes and harnesses, avoid unsafe areas, and always keep a close eye on your dog’s comfort and energy level. During doggy daycare, your pet will have a calm, supervised environment with lots of attention, play, and breaks as needed. About: I’ve taken care of all types of animals big and small furry or reptilian! I’m comfortable with different energy levels and sizes and willing to put in the work to get to know your pet and make sure they are comfortable! I work from home with very flexible hours so I can accommodate many different schedules during business hours and throughout the rest of the day I live in an apartment so will not be caring for pets in my home, but I am very careful and thorough with all pet care instructions.

“Detail oriented, thorough, kind, excellent planning and foresight, just awesome! This was my first Rover experience at the time of my booking I had an elderly dog and three cats, we had not gone on vacation in years due to our dog having arthritis and other health issues, but we had gotten her to a point where she was doing really well and we felt we could leave her with someone. I needed someone who could administer meds, live at the house and be otherwise highly attentive to her needs and our cats. I had about given up on some of the people I’d spoken with on Rover, I just didn’t feel comfortable with anyone. Enter Jillian. In our initial texts I got a very positive vibe and immediately liked her. We hadn’t even met yet but I could tell she was a gem. When she came to the house to meet our pets she was aces and again I instinctively knew she was going to be great. Since our meeting our dog very suddenly passed away and when I let Jillian know her response was compassionate and she gave me some time to figure out what we would do. When we spoke again we decided on two visits a day for the cats and she sprang into action to adjust our booking. Jillian was every bit as great as I knew she would be and even surpassed my expectations. This woman is thorough, she thinks ahead, she looks to solve issues even before they happen. We had a snow storm while we were gone and she made sure she got to the house. We received daily photos of all of the cats, who by the way hide from strangers all the time, but not Jillian! I think she’s a cat whisperer of some sort. She was on time for her visits, left the place clean, took her shoes off to walk around the house, so thoughtful!! On prior vacations when I’ve left my pets I always notice they’re a little ‘off’ when I return, not with Jillian. They were very much themselves which speaks volumes. I highly highly highly recommend her. We are already booking another trip because this was the first time in years that I really relaxed and didn’t feel any worry about the pets.”

About: I’ve taken care of pets for my co-workers and friends for the past several years while they traveled out of town for an extended amount of time. I make sure to check-in every day, feed them, and make sure they get enough attention. I am raising money for marathons I have signed up for over the next year. I’m preparing to run the Marine Corps Marathon and aim to run the Boston Marathon. I usually work evenings from 3-11pm Wednesdays through Sundays and I will have time to take care of your pet in the mornings before I get ready for work. When I am in charge of your pet, I make sure sure they have the food the need to remain healthy, give them a walk when they need it, and provide them with enough attention.

About: I have knowledge and experience handling various animals from small to large dogs and even working line dogs. I have been a veterinary technician for 5 years and focused in areas such as general practice and emergency. In my current career I specialize in rabbits and rodents as they hold a dear place in my heart. I have experience with fearful dogs/cats and hyperactive pets. I have knowledge in care requirements for the following species due to working in the veterinary field: rabbits, hamsters, rats/mice, chinchillas, guinea pigs, dogs, cats, and gerbils. I also am experienced and able to care for special needs pets whether if they need medications, a special diet, or have special bathroom requirements. I currently work full-time, but love working with animals during my free time. I’m available on the weekends with little restrictions and during the evenings of the week (Monday-Friday) after 3pm. I update my availability on the calendar every month, one month at a time. I encourage meet and greets prior to confirming a booking to ensure you, your pet(s), and I are a great match. It’s also a great way to do introductions and get to know your and your pet prior to a booking. Meet and greets are free of charge. In my home, I do have small animals (rabbits), but they have their own private space. Your pet will be able to lounge in the main living areas with no disruption from other animals. I do require dogs to be crate trained in cases or urgencies. My yard is not completely fenced, however this doesn’t deter your pet from being able to enjoy the outdoors as they are constantly supervised and on leash. I also live nearby many parks and aim to provide ample exercise for them in those areas. In the client’s home, I can follow specific directions you may have regarding your pet and any questions on my end will always be relayed to you to avoid confusion.
