“Edith was absolutely FANTASTIC with our furry kids! When she came over for the meet and greet before our trip, I could instantly tell she was a dog person, as she was familiar with how to probably introduce herself to dogs in their home. During her stay, our dogs obviously took to her very quickly and wanted to be close to her while she was there. She sent regular updates, was very communicative and warm, I just dont have enough good things to say about her. We will be reaching out to Edith again in the future so our pups can hang out with their new friend 🧡 🐾”

“Elena watching our high energy one year golden retriever and cat with separation anxiety for 14 days while we were out of the country. We came home to a clean home and happy, healthy pets, which is everything we could have hoped for. Elena was prompt with communication and profession. We had a great experience and will definitely hire Elena again in the future.”

“Felipe took wonderful care of my 2 dogs and 2 cats. The dogs got in a scuffle a day before we left and we were nervous to leave them with someone new. Felipe put us at ease and did a great job with them! He is a great communicator and sent us helpful updates and pictures/videos. He even walked the dogs separately just to be safe and spent a good chunk of time with them. Our shy cats even befriended him 😊”

“We went on vacation for 2 weeks and came home to happy, healthy dogs. I cannot tell you how nice it is to go on vacation and know your dogs will get the best care while you’re away. Thank you Casey, once again. I highly recommend Casey for your pet care!”

“Loved having Laurie stay with our 3 Golden’s. They seemed happy, and she sent pics of them daily. I was able to enjoy myself, knowing they were in good hands. Would definitely use her again!”

“Giselle was great with my dog and kitty 😺 She gave my dog his medicine as instructed and fed him as well. My dog is a picky eater and she was able to get him to eat. Will definitely use her again!”

About: I'm very good at dog trainer and loves to take care of animals. I have had a very sick dog that I have care of for all his life. From there I have learn how to care for sick animals. I enjoy doing morning walks with my dogs and evenings walks. When it comes to food time sometimes I do enjoy working with them so hand feeding is big for me unless the dog doesn't like that. I like to have a list from the owners to know what their pets expect. Such as if there's a food schedule and walks schedule. I do take safety precautions with dogs I dont know.

About: Hi, I'm Chelsea! Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness will always come first with me. ❤️ I know how hard it can be to trust someone else with your pets, and I want you to feel completely at ease knowing they’re with someone who will genuinely care for them like they’re my own. Animals have been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. I’ve grown up with dogs and cats and currently have animals of my own, including dogs, cats, rats, and reptiles. Caring for animals isn’t just something I do for work, it’s something I truly love. I understand that no two pets are the same. Some want all the cuddles and attention, while others need patience and time to feel comfortable. I’ll follow your pet’s normal routine, respect their boundaries, and take the time to learn their personality and what makes them feel safe. I’m comfortable with dogs of all different sizes, including large and strong breeds, and I understand how important it is to stay attentive and responsible on walks. Trust is also very important to me. I’ve worked with the same professional cleaning company for about 10 years, so I’m regularly trusted inside clients’ homes and understand the responsibility that comes with that. You can expect plenty of communication, photos, and updates while your pet is with me. I want you to be able to enjoy your time away without constantly wondering if your pet is okay. Whether I’m stopping by for a visit, taking your dog for a walk, or caring for your pets while you’re away, they’ll receive the same love, patience, attention, and care I would want someone to give my own. Because to me, they’re never “just a pet.” They’re family. 🐾 I work part time and have a very flexible schedule to help with yours and your pets needs, most of the weekends im available as well! Your pet's safety and comfort are always my top priority. I follow your care instructions carefully, provide plenty of love and attention, keep a clean and secure environment, and treat every pet as if they were my own. I also send regular photo updates for peace of mind.

About: Hello 👋 I’m Brittany — a professional pet sitter and dog walker originally from New York with a huge love for animals. I have veterinary assistant training, dog training assistant experience, and I’ve volunteered at numerous animal shelters throughout my life. Beyond my professional experience, I’ve been around animals my entire life. I grew up spending time on my grandparents’ horse farm in upstate New York, helping care for the horses and other animals. Over the years, I’ve personally owned and cared for a wide variety of pets, from dogs and cats to small animals, birds, reptiles, and farm animals. Dogs and horses have always held a special place in my heart. As a mom to a teenager and 5 fur babies of my own, I know pets are family. I treat every animal like my own and make sure they feel safe, loved, and cared for. 🐾 I have a flexible schedule during the week. I’m only unavailable from 7:30–9:00 AM and 2:30–4:00 PM on weekdays for my daughter’s school drop-off and pick-up. I come prepared for every visit with my own utility belt stocked with all-natural treats and waste bags, plus my own leash, ice-cold water, and a travel water bowl. I also bring a tennis ball for playtime, a brush for pups who enjoy it, and paw balm when needed. 🐾 You’ll usually see me arrive for visits by e-bike 🚲, but I use my car if weather conditions call for it. I’m also comfortable caring for large, strong, and high-energy dogs.
“Lynna was a wonderful dog sitter and houseguest. She communicated clearly, followed all directions, and went above and beyond in the care for our pup. There was never any doubt in our mind that our dog was well taken care of! We 100% recommend her and will be calling her back again.”

About: I've been a proud pet parent for the past 10 years! I’ve had the joy of caring for a senior dog, and I’m currently lucky enough to share life with my buddy, Buddy. Since he can be a little anxious around new people, kids, and big dogs, he’s taught me to pay keen attention to his body language, respecting his boundaries, and the importance of creating a calm, safe space where he feels comfortable and happy. I know every pet has their own quirks and style of communication, and it is a top priority for me to understand your pet's individual self. Whether your pet loves long walks, playtime, cuddles, or simply a calm companion, I'll make sure to give them what they need ◡̈ I understand how hard it can be to leave your furry family member behind, and my goal is to make both you and your pet feel comfortable! I'm currently in nursing school, so when I'm not in class, a big part of my time is dedicated to studying and working. I love spending my free time with animals, and I'd be happy to care for your pup on weekends and select weekdays. I keep my availability up to date so you can always see when I'm available to help! I've been an animal lover my entire life, and caring for my own dog, Buddy, has taught me how to recognize and respond to a dog's unique personality and needs. Every pet communicates differently, and I take the time to learn what makes yours feel comfortable, safe, and happy. Whether it's a walk, drop-in visit, or overnight stay, you can count on me to provide plenty of exercise, fresh water, meals on schedule, playtime, and lots of love and attention. I'll treat your pet like one of my own and keep you updated with photos and messages so you can have peace of mind while you're away. ◡̈

“Elle was terrific! We needed care for our 2 dogs while we were gone to wedding. She came over and met us and the dogs ahead of time. The dogs loved her right off. She has a caring personality and they loved that... One of our dogs is a senior diabetic that needs shots. Elly was more than willing to handle that as well as the pills they needed. She sent lots of pictures and notes about how it was going. Everything went well and we plan to request her in the near future. So glad to have someone that we trust with their care.”

About: I’ve grew up w/ 2 little chihuahuas Brownie & Cookie which i’ve taken care of since I was 14! As I grew older, i adopted another doggie, Nala, who is now living in Doggie heaven since 2022. I enjoy Cats & Dogs in my space they’re great companions and I love their different personalities. After taking animal behavior during my undergraduate I’ve been intrigued with the behavior of pets more and more! I would love to get to know you and your companion!! I’m pretty free and home majority of the time, I am an entrepreneur so this is what I do. I hope I can sit your furry friend. I have a small minimalistic 1 bedroom home. Honestly, there isn’t too much for your pets to get into AND i do have a few pet toys if your companion likes to play
About: I've had dogs of my own, and helped take care of my neighbors whenever I can. I have also rescued and re-homed 🐶 Being a past pet parent has taught me patience and the loving bond of unconditional love a dog generously provides. I currently work full time but have time to drop by feed, walk and provide care for your fur babies. My schedule is flexible, and I am available anytime weekends. In the past when I have cared for my own dogs, I make sure safety is paramount and fresh water/food is always provided. Leash as needed.
“What a lovely lady! She was amazing to our brand new puppy! We didn't plan to have a new fur baby, and we had already purchased $200 tickets to a show in Denver that we couldn't back out of. Juri saved the day and allowed us a little bit of reprieve after 2 solid weeks of puppy energy. She was prompt, responsive, checked in with us every hour with pictures, and she was truly a lovely person to meet. We plan to use her in the future and can't recommend her enough!”

“Lynette was wonderful with my fur babies. Because my doggies are older and require extensive care, I am very nervous about leaving them. Lynette made me feel comfortable. She tended to their needs and provided the extra care they needed. She is also extremely reliable, which is hard to find. I appreciate her so much!”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Bloomington walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Bloomington maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Bloomington choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
