About: I have always been an animal lover! I always have to stop and pet when I see them. I have often pet sat/boarded our neighbors animals for weeks even. I love all animals! I am currently a stay at home mom so I have extra time to come walk your pets, sit with them, or even for them to come stay with me I am home all day. At my home pets are always on leash and walked on grass/sidewalk. Can be kept in a separate area if requested! Clients home is based on clients wishes (backyard/dog park/sidewalk). I also have 3 loving dogs and 2 cats that stay with me currently!

“Emily and her family are wonderful! They welcomed my old lad, Major, and genuinely seemed to care about him as they do their own pup. Emily sent photos of Major getting settled in and spending time with the fam and was very communicative. I continue to trust Emily with Major's care while I'm at the office, knowing he's in great, capable hands 😊”

About: Hello! I love all types of pets and currently have two dogs of my own. I am a student at Virginia-Maryland college of veterinary medicine trying to earn some extra money by doing what I love, playing with pets. I have experience with all types of pets at varying sizes and personalities. During my undergraduate career, I raised two Seeing Eye Dogs and helped other raisers with training. During this time, I worked at a veterinary hospital, participated in animal specific events like vaccination clinics, and groomed. From healthy puppies and kittens to seniors who need medication, I have seen it all and am prepared to help with whatever your pet needs. I hope I can meet your fur babies and shower them with love while you’re away. I offer additional grooming services, ask about them if your interested. As someone who owns two dogs, pet care is a priority in my life. Both of my pups get plenty of one-on-one time as well as long walks and enrichment in the house. During the day, the pups are crated while I am at school, but if my boyfriend is off of work they get to run around and play. As soon as I get home the dogs get taken out and fed. Along with daily care, I take care of all of their grooming and medical needs as well. I currently live in apartment complex which has a dog play area for your furry friends to get plenty of exercise. There is also a trail connected to the complex which will be utilized for long walks and plenty of sniffing opportunities. Both of my pups are very friendly and would be happy to be your pet’s playmate during their stay.

About: I’m a lifelong animal lover with years of hands-on experience caring for dogs of all ages, breeds, and personalities. I’m originally from Charlottesville, Virginia, and currently a full-time undergraduate student at Virginia Tech living in Blacksburg. Whether it’s a high-energy puppy or a calm senior dog, I pride myself on providing attentive, loving care tailored to each pet’s unique needs. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your furry family member, and I’m here to give you peace of mind while making sure your pup is safe, happy, and well cared for. I’m currently working full time during the summer here in Charlottesville. However I’m free for walks before 9am and my work day is over at 5:30. I prioritize safety by keeping a clean, pet-friendly environment and following each pet’s routine closely. Whether in my home or yours, I ensure secure spaces, constant supervision, and lots of love and attention to build trust and keep your pet comfortable.

About: I like to take a supervised yet hands-off approach to watching over dogs. That is, letting dogs be their curious and playful selves while making sure they're safe and well taken care of. I've owned dogs my whole life (breeds including portuguese water dog, rottweilers, maltese/poodle mix, terrier mix, schnauzer/poodle mix, and a german shepherd currently) and find that they are happier and better behaved when given freedom to explore and lead rather than be expected to remain obedient and tame at all times. Some pups need more structure and thrive on a little more rigidity though, and I am very capable of meeting whatever their needs are and sticking to what you know is best for their personality. I am easily swooned by all kinds of dogs but am not one to let them use their good looks and charm to get the best of me. I am mostly just excited to hang out with as many of these guys as I can! I do want to be transparent that I work regular hours Mon - Fri, so I cannot stay with your pups 24/7 during the week. That being said, lunch time bathroom breaks are a guarantee! Walks in the morning and in the evening, and a quick potty break in the afternoon! I do have a day job, but your sweet pup will always be my first priority. I have a large backyard and live just a few short minutes from the Huckleberry Trail 🙂 I also have a spacious yard where your furry friend can roam free!

About: -Raised with 5 dogs in my house my whole childhood -Cat lover as well, I have 4! -I’ve had all different sized pups, two beagles, two pit mixes, an english bulldog, and currently two boston terriers at home! -Helped care for my senior beagle before he passed away (he lived 17 years!) I’m a student at Virginia Tech and I miss my dog at home! I have breaks between my classes that allow me to pop over to your house and let your babies out during the day and I’m happy to stay over night on weekends! I don’t have any pets here with me at Tech but I have a yard and plenty of outdoor space for walks if you need your pet out of your house.

About: I love animals and have been surrounded by large and small animals most of my life. I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Biology and am working towards going to Vet school in a few years after accomplishing some other dreams first. I worked as a medical vet technician and as a border at a veterinary clinic for about two part-time summer jobs (during school years). I have the experience of handling small to large dogs , providing food, instructions to meds, and any type of animal care. I have experience in working with puppies and older dogs, ensuring the older dogs get the proper medication as needed on time. At the clinic, my job was designed to ensure the dogs were taken care of during boarding stays, and I helped with any services provided by the veterinarian for their patients'. I greatly advocate for the quality of life for animals and strive to improve their overall well-being. I am currently a professional runner working on my Public Health master's (online) from Oklahoma State while running professionally here at Virginia Tech. My days consist of training once or twice a day for about 1-2 hours (am/pm), but for the rest of the day, I am at home working remotely. I live on a property that consists of a nice fenced-in yard and can let the dog hang out outside or inside safely. Happy to help anyone in need and provide a loving environment for any dog :) It can fit perfectly through my day to day schedule. Only times I am away are for racing and training. Which I can easily fill out on my schedule to ensure I am here when needed to provide the task and duties to helping taking care of someone’s lovely dog. I do not have pets but our leasing owner has some donkeys which I go and take care of at times. I use to live on a farm where I have experience working with farm animals, especially older horses and dogs, taking care of them and providing them comfort. For for when I have my own pets I plan to treat them as my own child making sure they are cared for and their needs are met. For a clients dog I would ensure the same and any instructions given to ensure their dogs are being taken care of .

About: I play lacrosse at VT so I am very attentive to detail and have grown up with a large family with many pets and people! I am currently on winter break so I am looking to take on another job during this time! I am free most of my days other than when I need to train for lacrosse! I live in an condo style apartment that has access to outside from both the front and back door! There is a walking paved trail right behind my house that I can walk dogs on!

About: I personally have a golden doodle, she does not stay with me so if your dog is ever at my townhouse it will just be your animal. I have taken care of animals ever since I could remember locally around my neighborhood. I am a student and also ride horses, Monday and Friday I am out of the house for about two and a half hours in the afternoon and a little less Tuesdays and Thursday. Friday, Saturday and Sunday I have no commitments. I do not have a fenced in yard but we do have a dog park. Every dog is required to be on a leash when taken out of the home and the owners are very respectful about that.

About: I have had dogs in my own home my whole life. I take pride in respecting the animals and keeping them healthy and and active. No dog is too big or small. I am currently a student in college studying consumer studies. My mornings, afternoons, and late evenings tend to be most free as I have classes in between. I live right next to an open field and track, the house I stay at has an open backyard as well. I treat the animals with respect and always make sure they have the water, food, and exercise they need. I also enjoy bringing them in a car to various hiking trails in the area.

Nancye D.
“If you can trust anyone with the safety and care of your pet, it would be Nancye. Nancye cared for her last rescue pet till the bitter end while holding her paw at the vet. Her pet was disabled for the past two years in which she had her whole home fixed for her precious pet to be comfortable with clean diapers constantly. Had a back legged wheels for her to be able to motivate long as possible. Nancye has a heart full of love to give any pet. I know she keeps the local pets in treats and clean water when needed. My Labradoodle fell in love with her the first thing. There should be no one ever to worry about leaving their pet(s) with her. She has had a pet most of her life and still has room for more love to give.”

“Mary is one of the most loving and caring people I know with and without animals. Mary has cared for my animals for many years now. As a close friend and neighbor she has helped me in times of need and has shown such love for my pets like I do. She is one of the best pet sitters, I know. She always takes my dogs for long walks, plays with them and keep them occupied. She has great experience of her own growing up with multiple dogs and cats, and is always the first to volunteer to take care of them. She has a beautiful dog named Rudy, who is a handful, but she loves her to death. I would always recommend Mary to my friends and rover. She would be the best pet sitter and walker I know! Her love for animals is contagious!”
