“Miah did a great job taking care of our senior kitty, Miss Sophie. She was prompt, reliable, detail oriented, and readily asked questions which I appreciate. She took care of extras like getting our mail and washing up Sophie’s dishes. She spent time getting to know Sophie and Sophie sensed that she was a cat lover. Thank you Miah!”

“I am very impressed with Cilyr, from the speed she answered to the request, to her detailed (and funny) reports, to how my two cats took to her in no time. Strongly recommended!”

About: Pets bring us all kinds of joy and unconditional love. It's hard to relax on vacation or focus on an event with a piece of you missing . Be able to be present and ease your mind knowing another caring soul will show your pet the same love and attention they enjoy. I have 10 years of experience with all different breeds and sizes. I work remotely. My office is where the WIFI is the strongest. I have time to spend with animals. My children are grown leaving me with an abundance of free time Soft voices and lots of love and attention. Dogs I like to run and make sure that they have the exercise they need. Plenty of tug of war! Social cats I give lap time and bring a feather.
“Absolutely fantastic experience with Mandi and delighted she was able to take our booking. Mandi came for a meet-and-greet in advance of the booking to review details and get acquainted with our home, our cat, and his care. He was much more relaxed and comfortable when we returned than when we've picked him up from boarding in the past; at his advanced age, that means so much! We're looking forward to our next booking with Mandi!”

“Eric was warm and gentle caring for Cocoa. He was thoughtful and diligent to make sure he had everything he’d need to offer the best care. Will definitely book with him again. Thanks Eric!”

“Laura did a wonderful job of caring for our kitty while we were away and provided some bonus help for us like getting the mail and watering our flower pots! We appreciate her help so much!”

About: I have four cats, two dogs, and eight chickens. I have cared for animals across the lifespan: basic obedience training, administering medications, and cleaning boxes, coops, and kennels. I have recently been working with our reactive border collie heeler mix and have learned a ton about dog behavior! I'm comfortable walking and caring for dogs of all walks of life. I work mostly from home and am able to walk dogs before, at lunch, and after work; check in on pets before/after work or throughout the day with enough notice. I'm off Fridays and weekends and available for any pet care needs. I have a dog that loves playing with other dogs, a large yard with a fence and the Black Earth creek, an outdoor kennel area.
About: I have been taking care of animals ever since I was little, between dogs, cats, reptiles, and even farm animals such as dairy cows, pigs, goats, chickens, rabbits, and guinea pigs. I can take care of pets at any time of day or night, and I can walk dogs after 4 pm. Tuesday & Thursday, I do have class from 7-10 am. I have a fence for my pets, we play with toys, and we go on walks (depending on the weather). My dog will sleep where she is most comfortable and she always goes to the bathroom on time.
“Peyton was great to work with. She was personable, prompt, and took good care of our attention-needing cat while we were away. We will definitely engage Peyton in the future.”

“Alliyah watched our 15 y/o dog for 12 days while we were on spring break. She was easy to schedule with and communicative. Georgie seemed to really enjoy her visits and we recommend her!”

About: I have been taking care of all types of animals since I was a teenager. I am great with dogs both large and small. My friends also call me the cat whisperer because I can earn any type of cats trust. I work Monday-Friday and get done around 4pm. I am very open on the weekends and every night of the week. Additionally my work schedule is flexible so if you need specific accommodations I can most likely make that work. I have a pet friendly apartment with lots of grass to run around in to play and go to the bathroom. Additionally my apartment is a comfy and cozy home with nothing that animals would be getting into.

“Jordan took great care of our cats while we were away! She was super dependable and I didn’t have to worry about them at all. She must be a cat whisperer to get our shy cat to come out and play!”

“Sidney was on time, easy to communicate with, and took exceptional care of our cat! We were able to find a schedule that worked for both parties, and we received photo and text updates for each visit. Sidney is our new favorite pet sitter in the area!”

“Donna did ann excellent job watching our two kitties for a week while we were away. She is super communicative and sends photos from each visit. We had peace of mind while on vacation knowing Donna was taking care of our fur babies!”

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Black Earth. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
