Availability
I’m currently working full time overnight, and I have resident animals and fosters who need their own attention. I plan a few walks or drop in care a day in the area near me, mostly in the lunch-hour. I occasionally take on morning/evening drop ins, but not regularly. When boarding critters, they can expect attention and out of enclosure time at least twice per day. I will only board dogs when I am not fostering dogs to prevent unknown personalities from mixing. I recently adopted a dog who is dog-selective and needs time to warm up to new dogs. He does not do well with playful, in-your-face dogs, and I will not board these types of dogs for more than two nights to protect my dog’s peace. Please note that when boarding dogs, they and my dog will be in separate rooms when I am away at work, and will be separated for meal times. At this time, I am only boarding dogs for up to one week at a time so that I can better learn my new dog’s preferences for boarding.

Should you wish your dog to have off leash time, I am happy to adjust a walk session to a play session in my fenced yard. (Fence is 6 foot, privacy fence; yard is about 1/2 acre). Drop in care in your home could consist of 1-3 visits a day, and I will work with you and your animal on what kind of care and schedule would work best for your animal. Boarding for critters will have the option of you bringing their enclosure, or I can use one of my extras. I will interact at least twice a day in ways comfortable to your pet (Ex snuggles, puzzle toys, trick training, ball pits), clean enclosures daily, and wash all bedding every 4 days, or when soiled. Dogs who are boarded need to be able to hold it overnight or use a pee pad. They can be crated or gated depending on their needs. (I do not have a set up where unknown to me dogs can be loose when I am at work. If your dog cannot handle being gated or crated, I cannot board them.) Please note that I am boarding dogs for one week or less at this time, as I gauge my new dog’s comfort level with boarding and types of dogs he is comfortable with. Please note that boarded dogs are not allowed to sleep in bed with me unless my dog allows it (he has never allowed it).

Information Cilyr E. would like to know about your pet
Let me know what their expectations are for walks and drop ins, including getting ready and coming home. (For example, do they expect a scatter feed in the yard after a walk? Do they do best if we chill out for a few minutes when I arrive before playing?) If I’m boarding your animal, it’s helpful to know their general routine, as well as any allergies, destructive tendencies, etc. Please also let me know if they are crate trained and any medications they need.
A typical day
During a walk, I’ll take the lead from your dog. If they’re into sniffing, we’ll follow their nose. If they’re focusing on me, we’ll make it a training game walk to learn new things and practice different kinds of walking (heel, turning, changing directions). If they struggle with reactivity, we’ll make sure to avoid triggers or set them up for success by starting at a distance they can handle, if you’d like me to work with them on it. When boarding, I like to rotate toys and enrichment in enclosures (Ex tunnels vs boxes, dig boxes, shreddable toys vs harder chew toys vs tossing toys) and ensure I handle them at least once a day to check for any potential issues. When boarding dogs, they can have a walk, training, or free time in the yard three times a day, and we have a variety of puzzles, toys, and games to keep things interesting. Please note that boarded animals will be alone for 2 3 hour periods during the day most days, as well as overnight. Do not book with me if your animal needs someone home all day, as I cannot accommodate that.

Enrichment-based Care
Pet care experience
I foster dogs and small animals through Underdog Pet Rescue and assist with training walks and sessions for dogs with reactivity or who need work on leash walking skills. I strive to help animals feel comfortable with me, enjoy our time, and feel enriched, whether that’s through sniffing, climbing, treats, watching the world, or training and connecting with each other. I have 15 years experience with dogs, ranging from puppies to seniors. I have 7 years of experience with non-dogs and can provide drop in or boarding care for rabbits, Guinea pigs, rats, chinchillas, ferrets, reptiles, fish, and others. With my years of fostering, I am always excited to learn what is unique about the animal in front of me, and will endeavor to enrich their lives. Drop-ins and walks more than 15 minutes from me will have an additional charge per walk/drop-in based on distance/time from my home. Profits from my pet sitting go toward making food for people in need.

Reviews

My dog had a great time running in the yard! Cilyr was excellent at getting to know her and being prepared for all her needs!!

Cilyr is the absolute best! Fantastic with dogs and really goes the extra mile to make sure both of my dogs are happy and have a fun time.

Cilyr was so good with our two dogs. We have to do slow introductions with our puppy, Scout, due to reactivity. Cilyr has experience with reactive dogs so that was so helpful!

Wonderful as always!
