Jamie was wonderful watching Scotti and Loki while we were away attending a wedding. She came into the house and left seamlessly. The dogs were so happy when we came home and could tell how cared for they were. Jamie went above and beyond doing laundry and dishes as well. I would recommend Jamie to anyone needing a sitter to care for their pets.

Ryan is AWESOME!!! I didn't worry once while I was away from my babies and home because I knew they would be taken care of. Ryan communicated with me every day and assured me that all was well. It is hard enough to be away, but at least I knew my pups were comfortable at home with a great sitter. I was more worried about Ryan being comfortable away from his home. Great experience and we will definitely be requesting Ryan's assistance in the near future! Thanks again Ryan!

Aubree was outstanding, one of our dogs is very shy and scared, and she warmed right up to Aubree with no troubles. Aubree took great care of our dogs, kept us informed and sent fantastic photos! She even went above and beyond when one dog was sick and had an accident in her crate, giving her a bath and cleaning the crate! I would recommend her over and over, she truly took care of our pups as though they were her own!

About: I have worked with horses as a teenager. And look after pets for a neighbor, family, and friends. I have a friendly dog that loves to play with other pets. Have watched puppies and senior. Right now I am at home full time so can have pets anytime and any day of the month. And have a car to drive. And have not met a dog that didn't like me. I a big front yard and backyard, have a big dog house outside, have a open living room and kitchen so have enough room for pets to move around and play. And I own a dog who is very friendly with other pets. And my yard is treated so pets don't need to worry about pests.

I highly recommend Addie for house sitting and pet sitting. She did an amazing job caring for our two cats and two dogs while we were away. Addie was reliable, responsible, and communicated exceptionally well throughout her stay. She sent us pictures every day, which gave us peace of mind knowing our pets were happy and well cared for. She also followed all of our instructions carefully, and we returned to a very clean and well-maintained home. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and would gladly trust Addie with our pets and home again.

About: I've been taking care of dogs for the last 20 years of my life. Most people in my life rely on me to take care of their pets while they are away and I love being the go to person to take care of their sweet babies. At my house, my dogs are my family and that is how I treat all the dogs that come to my home. I had a 12 year old dog who recently passed away from cancer so I have elderly dog experience and can be trusted to give medications if needed. I work from home so I'm available for your pup all day. Also, I like to take daily walks, so if your pup likes walks, I'd love to take them with me. I'm a licensed Mental health provider that works from home so my schedule is flexible enough to walk dogs in between clients and watch dogs throughout the day. I have two friendly dogs that love having people and companions over to our house. We don't have a large fenced in yard so any time your little one needs to go out, I'll be available with the leash if they need more space.

About: I’m currently a veterinary assistant and a senior pre-vet undergraduate student preparing to apply to veterinary school. I have hands-on experience working with all kinds of dogs and cats in clinical settings, including nervous, senior, high-energy, and medically complex pets. Through veterinary medicine, I’ve become comfortable recognizing changes in behavior, handling animals safely and calmly, administering medications, and making sure pets feel as comfortable and stress-free as possible. Outside of clinical work, I also have animal care experience through shelters and other animal-focused environments. I’ve grown up around animals my whole life and currently have two dogs and a snake of my own, so caring for animals is genuinely a huge part of my everyday life. What sets me apart is that I truly want to build trust with both pets and owners. Since becoming a veterinarian is my long-term goal, I take animal care very seriously and always try to treat every pet with the same patience, attention, and compassion I would want for my own animals. I’m currently in Tulsa for the summer, my hometown, and working part-time as a veterinary assistant at a local veterinary clinic! Since my schedule is flexible, I plan pet sitting and drop-in visits around my shifts to make sure every pet gets plenty of attention, consistency, and quality care. Because animals are such a huge part of my life and future career goals, spending time with pets honestly fits very naturally into my daily routine. I genuinely love getting to know each animal’s personality and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while their owners are away. I always prioritize evidence-based, fear-free style care and pay close attention to each pet’s body language, stress signals, and individual history. Every animal is different, so I focus on meeting them where they’re at rather than expecting them to adjust to me. Because I’m very familiar with animal behavior through clinical experience, I’m comfortable recognizing when a pet wants affection, play, space, or just calm coexistence. Whether that means lots of snuggles and engagement or simply being a quiet, reassuring presence, I adjust my approach to what makes each pet feel safest and most comfortable. Animals are truly my world, and I treat every pet with patience, respect, and genuine care while making sure their boundaries are always honored.

I bathe, brush, walk, & cuddle with my dog on a constant basis & I make sure she has plenty of toys & gets a lot of attention. Sarah is awesome! So warm and caring. I think she actually treated my pups TOO well, they weren't as happy to see me as I expected them to be lol. She always answered my texts if I checked in on them. It's really hard for me to leave my furbabies for any reason, and it's even harder for me to put my trust in someone to care for them, and I completely trust Sarah to watch them again and again!

FAQs for House Sitting - Bixby

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Bixby on Rover is $49.95 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 447 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Bixby. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Bixby walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Bixby maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Bixby choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Bixby. On Rover:

  • 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 94% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
