About: I’m dependable, caring and truly dog-loving and I create a calm, loving experience that helps pets feel safe and relaxed. I’m truly the dog whisperer. I work from home and have a very flexible schedule for early morning, mid morning, after lunch and evening playtime, walks, and fetch in the yard. I have a fenced yard, sidewalks in my neighborhood and a lot of room for indoor play on rainy days. Happy to come to your house also.
“Amy is almost always available and flexible with me even if I book her services last minute. I work 12 hour shifts and sometimes they're overnight shifts so it's nice to have someone to check on my dog and get her out of the house for a bit. My dog just adores her and I sure do appreciate her! ”

“Alison is soo loving, sweet and compassionate with my Lotus. I appreciate how patient, gentle and reliable she is. She communicates super well and tell me how their entire walks go. She makes me feel at ease knowing that he's in good care with her. She took the time to learn him to ensure their walks go well and that is a plus being that my baby has quite a few rules lol. Im so happy to have come across her.”

About: I've worked with pets of every age, temperament, and need: energetic puppies, seniors who need a slower pace, and everything between. I'm experienced with oral and injected medications, special needs pets, and routines that keep pets settled while their people are away. When I care for your pets, they're cared for the way you'd do it yourself. I am also open to caring for a broad range of animals, including but not limited to chickens, rabbits, reptiles and birds. Pet care is my primary work, not a side gig, so your pet's schedule is my schedule. As a graduate student with flexible hours, I can accommodate midday drop-ins, early mornings, and house sits of varying lengths. I want to provide the kind of pet care that I personally would be happy to find for my own animals. You know your pets best; I prioritize finding out exactly what your requirements are and diligently following your directions when caring for them. You'll get photos and updates every visit, and if anything ever seems off — appetite, behavior, anything — you'll hear from me right away.
“Taylor is great. She says hello to Marshmallow and loves on him every time she comes over to walk him. Marshmallow gets excited when he sees her and he only gets excited for food.”

About: ***at capacity for AM drop-ins/walks*** An animal lover of all shapes and sizes, I’ve grown up around animals all my life. I have been professionally pet sitting for almost two years, and during this time have amassed many different breeds and knowledge of their behavior during this time! My birth family primarily owned cats, including a diabetic old grump and kittens, and I’m generally known as a “cat whisperer”! Later on, my grandparents and I adopted a toy poodle named Pierre, who eventually developed diabetes as a senior, which we had to medicate. After he passed away we adopted our standard poodle, Isabelle, who was my soul puppy. She unfortunately passed away in January of 23 after a long struggle with pancreatic cancer, so I’m accustomed to providing all sorts of medical care as well as extremely customized diets and medication schedules. And right now my family and I are raising another standard poodle- Nova! She’s 2, and the light of my life. I raised and trained Nova and Isabelle, so I’m used to the puppy stage also. I’ve also grew up around fishkeeping & small animals of all kinds, and as a high-schooler/adult I’ve been a reptile/amphibian keeper. Specifically, I’ve owned hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbits, frogs, axolotls, snakes, geckos, chameleons, hermit crabs, and a hedgehog. While I have not personally owned birds, I’m very knowledgeable in their care also! This is currently my job! I am in college but do not have a schedule yet. Depending on the dog, we’ll spend the day relaxing or playing and at the end of the day we’ll be all tuckered out. Your pups safety and wellbeing is always my top priority! I will follow any instructions given and provide frequent updates & pictures. I am also well-versed in pair dynamics & anxious dogs!
About: I have owned and taken care of pets ever since I was 9 years old. I have trained my last 3 dogs that I have and two of them live with me now. I also make homemade dog treats for my two babies so I know exactly what it is they are consuming. I am a part time baker and work mostly during the mornings so I would be able to see your pet in the morning before i have work and be able to come home a little after lunchtime to take them out, take them on walks/runs. I can also be there overnight to insure their safety and keep them from making a mess. I have a fenced in back yard and two very friendly dogs. one is 3 years old and the other is almost 1. I have a big back yard so enough room for the dogs to run around and have fun playing with one another! I love taking dogs out for walks. I know not everyone has a fenced in back yard or one in general so taking dogs on walks and allowing them to get out there and blow off some energy. I also make homemade dog treats for my animals so I know they aren't consuming things that can cause health problems down the road. I also have allergy tested both my dogs so that way I know what treats I am making them are for their consumption.
“This was outlet first time leaving our fur babies in the care of someone that wasn’t family. I must say, I didn’t worry ONCE! We got fantastic communication and pictures daily which was so sweet! I won’t hesitate to book with Cynthia again, she was super sweet to our 3 dogs and I was surprised how well they took to her right off the bat! Perfect first time experience!!”

About: I worked at a vets office for over 3 years and have had dogs my whole life. I love taking care of dogs any size or age. I work full time during the week but would be home by 3:30 Monday-Friday and home on the weekends. I work from home sometimes depending on my schedule. My husband works from home so he would be home with your dog while I’m away so they would hardly ever be alone. I have a fenced in back yard and two friendly male dogs. They are mainly inside dogs but go out to play throughout the day. I would be happy to crate your dog if needed. We have a crate indoors.
“Emily is wonderful and my pup loved her! She is kind and gentle. Emily was always on time, and I loved the pictures that she sent of my pup when out walking. I’d recommend Emily to anyone. She was a blessing and I’m so happy I found her.”

About: What sets me apart from other sitters is my background in healthcare and my natural attention to detail. As a nursing student and soon-to-be hospital worker, I’m very experienced in providing attentive, compassionate care — which easily carries over to how I care for pets. I’m patient, reliable, and comfortable following detailed care instructions, including administering medications if needed. I also have experience with both young, energetic pets and senior pets who may need a little extra gentleness and support. I genuinely love building a bond with every animal I care for, treating them like family while keeping their safety, happiness, and well-being my top priority. Pet care fits naturally into my daily and weekly routine because I truly enjoy spending time with animals. I am a nursing student who will be starting a hospital job on May 12, working from 3 PM to 11:30 PM. Until then, I have open availability to care for pets. Even after I begin work, I’ll be available during mornings, early afternoons, and late nights for check-ins, walks, and pet sitting. I start classes on May 27, but I only have one in-person class from 12–1 PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays, leaving plenty of time to dedicate to caring for pets. I’m responsible, nurturing, and attentive—qualities that come naturally from my healthcare background—and I will treat your pets like they are my own. When caring for pets in my home or a client’s home, I make sure to follow any specific instructions provided by the owner, including feeding schedules, walk times, medication administration, and any special routines or preferences. I pay close attention to each pet’s behavior to make sure they are happy, comfortable, and safe. I also love giving pets plenty of playtime, affection, and exercise based on their energy level. Cleanliness and safety are important to me, so I always make sure their space stays clean, and I update owners regularly with messages and photos for peace of mind. With my nursing background, I’m very detail-oriented and comfortable providing extra care if needed.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
